Reading it one night and noticing all the post-it notes behind Officer Buckle, I began to wonder if there were actually 101 safety tips in the book. I sat down one night and copied them all down. It turns out there are 101 and a few extras.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Some are purely practical &#8220;Lock your bike&#8221;, some are strangely adult &#8220;Never run in high heels&#8221; and others are are just weirdly specific &#8220;Wipe up drool&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><strong>Here&#8217;s all the numbered rules that can be made out in the book:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Keep your shoelaces tied<\/li>\n<li>Always wipe up spills before someone slips and falls<\/li>\n<li>?<\/li>\n<li>Do not jumping&#8230; the bed<\/li>\n<li>Never play with matches<\/li>\n<li>Dial 911 in an emergency<\/li>\n<li>Always wear a crash helmet when biking or skating<\/li>\n<li>Never hitchhike<\/li>\n<li>Obey all traffic signs<\/li>\n<li>?<\/li>\n<li>?<\/li>\n<li>?<\/li>\n<li>Never use water [on] a grease fire. We&#8230;<\/li>\n<li>Watch your step&#8230;<\/li>\n<li>Never fly kites near power lines<\/li>\n<li>Prepare for fire&#8230;<\/li>\n<li>Look before you leap<\/li>\n<li>Check how deep the water is before you dive<\/li>\n<li>Never give information over the phone to strangers<\/li>\n<li>Never leave a bar of soap where someone might step on it<\/li>\n<li>Buckle your seat belt<\/li>\n<li>Never put anything in your nose<\/li>\n<li>Never drink anything you find under the sink<\/li>\n<li>&#8230;before you pet them<\/li>\n<li>Dispose of banana peels properly<\/li>\n<li>Clean up broken glass<\/li>\n<li>Read the instructions before operating appliances<\/li>\n<li>Check water temperature for climbing in the bathtub<\/li>\n<li>No biking on the sidewalk<\/li>\n<li>Always check smoke alarm batteries&#8230;<\/li>\n<li>Keep necklaces&#8230;<\/li>\n<li>&#8230;while the mixer&#8230;s on<\/li>\n<li>&#8230;escape from fire<\/li>\n<li>Say &#8230;no&#8230; to drugs<\/li>\n<li>Wash your hands after you use the toilet<\/li>\n<li>Stay away from alcohol<\/li>\n<li>Never leave a thumbtack where someone might sit on it<\/li>\n<li>Never put anything in your ear<\/li>\n<li>Never accept rides from strangers<\/li>\n<li>Never eat mayonnaise that&#8217;s been sitting in the sun<\/li>\n<li>Never play in the microwave oven<\/li>\n<li>Never tilt your chair back on two legs<\/li>\n<li>Never play with spray cans<\/li>\n<li>Always pull the toothpick out of your sandwich<\/li>\n<li>Never run with a pop bottle in your mouth<\/li>\n<li>&#8230;might slip on it<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>So that&#8217;s 110 rules.
