Why do Ho-Ho’s come wrapped in aluminum foil instead of shrinkwrapped plastic? I can’t think of anything else that comes in aluminum foil.

Lots of stuff used to come that way, it’s only because mylar is both cheaper and “shelf-life enhancing” that companies are abandoning foil. Bloody shame really, since getting a stale peppermint patty was kinda nice sometimes.
Now, the only reason that companies wrap their food in foil is to ensure that the CIA mind control rays aren’t detected until the very last possible moment.
A foil wrapper is necessary to shield the Ho-Ho from bright light. Contrary to popular belief, Ho-Ho’s are not safe to eat slowly outdoors, and will explode if their volatile ingredients are exposed to a few minutes of sunshine.
