Why I don’t want an iPhone

June 29th, 2007 | Jeff Boulter | General

The iPhone hype is deafening. Even so, I don’t want one.

  1. AT&T coverage is sucky.
  2. No Bluetooth Dial-up Networking. I use this a lot to get Internet access from my laptop.
  3. No IM client. I also use this a lot.
  4. No ability to create and install real apps on it. Widgets are nice unless you’re offline.
  5. It’s expensive.

OK nevermind, this is not convincing me that I don’t want one. Gimme!!

Damn you, Apple.

iphone looks cool, 8 gig bytes is not enough memory, plus all the hidden cost with the phone plan and the phone itself.

The thing with Apple products is like a drug addiction. If you can stay away for a few weeks, you figure out that you *can* live with some of their products.

Argggh! No bluetooth! What were they thinking?

I just hacked my AppleTV so I don’t have to use iTunes for everything it does. Very nice, but I’m too Apple-overdosed right now to even look beyond my Treo.
