I parked nearby while searching for another nearby cache, and noticed something new at this familiar site...

Venonium 263

By: workerofwood & fizzymagic Difficulty: 5.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

Thanks to everyone for allowing Mrs. niraD and me to tag along. We enjoyed the food, the hike, and the company, and we enjoyed observing your adventures pursuing the stolen Venonium 263. TN, L 42779's firefly, SL. TFTC!

There's a thread in the GBA forums where we're discussing a group outing for this hike next Tuesday: http://thegba.net/forum/viewtopic.php?p=78382

Tube It!

By: 3BBoys Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

I just wanted to confirm that the posted coordinates are correct. I originally posted "more accurate" coordinates too, until I read the other logs and realized that I had been mistaken.

Baylands Brute Force

By: OneAngryPuppy Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

DNS: I had planned to search for this one tonight, but as MotorBug pointed out, this cache is not available 24/7. I didn't realize that it gets dark so early already. It was still light when I left work, but I needed to turn on my bike lights before I reached the (hypothetical) cache location, so I had to turn back without searching for the cache.

By: OneAngryPuppy Difficulty: 4.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

After almost 2 months, I figured it was time to rescue the California Bound TB. I'll get it moving again.

SQUARED AWAY

By: Corgi Clan Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

DNS: I solved this one quickly, since I used the technique myself to stump classmates in grade school. Unfortunately, I didn't have time to search for the cache before we had to leave Yreka. I'll be back next year...

Almost Eden

By: mjp303 (adopted by niraD) Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

It's been too long since I spent time here. I trashed out some expired coupons and other geojunk, added a bit of swag, and started the process of updating the coordinates.

Almost Eden

By: mjp303 (adopted by niraD) Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

For the record, the garden at Almost Eden is not open 24 hours. It is open sunrise to sunset, as it says on the cache page, and as it says on the signs at the garden entrances.

Trigger Happy

I noticed the DNF logs and dropped by after work to check on this one. It wasn't where it has been when I've been here before. Sorry.

This was our third stop as we hiked to the albino redwood trees. Roaring Camp was pretty quiet this afternoon, and we saw ducks nearby, but no geese. John found this one. 13,000 Vehicles Daily

By: virtualdavid Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

After finding a couple nearby caches, I revisited this one to drop off the To Palo Alto, CA 1 TB. While I was here, I traded some stickers for the CasinoCanines sig token.

Southgate Orienteering

By: virtualdavid Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Small

I helped To Palo Alto, CA 1 reach its goal, but it didn't fit in the container for its home cache. This was the closest cache I could think of that is big enough for it, so I returned to drop the TB here.

Almost Natural

By: Rocket Girl and DuckeyLee Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Small

I found this one last year. This morning, I was leading the boys in our church's CSB Stockade program on a geocaching hike, and we finished with this nicely camouflaged cache. The log was damp and quite full, and there was no stash note, so I left a waterproof stash note/replacement log. TN, L Brought to you by the letter V TB, SL. Also, the boys made a lot of trades on their own. TFTC!

Shoreline Trailhead

By: MotorBug Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

Last year, I found the previous incarnation of this one (a micro). This morning, I was leading the boys in our church's CSB Stockade program on a geocaching hike, and we started with this trailhead cache while waiting for latecomers. Serpentine

By: PurplePeople Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Regular

Last week, I got stuck at the wrong sign for stage 2. My GPSr was telling me that I was still 20-30 feet away, and I looked for something else in the direction it was pointing, but I just didn't see it. This morning, armed with information in PurplePeople's email (and experience finding stages 3 and 5), I found the correct sign right away. Oops.
