Spring Fling Potluck 2011

It was great seeing familiar faces, and a few new faces too. It was a beautiful day and a beautiful park for a lunch event. Mission Not So Impossible

By: xxxsparkmanxxx Maintained by Frivlas Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

I dropped by this morning to redeem my previous DNF, armed with hints volunteered by a previous finder. I quickly found the cache in a spot I thought I had searched before, saw the clean log sheet, and then noticed that the original cache had been replaced yesterday. This is a clever hide, but I still don't understand the hint. I'll keep my trackable sig token for this nano-cache moving. I made sure to re-hide it as found, where it isn't visible. TNLNSL, TFTC!

Somewhere to Call From (with your cell phone)

After logging my earlier DNF this morning, I read through the past logs. Some of them seemed to confirm a hide location that I had already checked fruitlessly, so this afternoon, I dropped by to recheck it. That turned out to be the right location, but it still took me a while to find the cache. I guess my use of modern technology has reduced my familiarity with this old-school technology. I'll keep my trackable sig token for this sign-only cache moving. TNLNSL. Thanks for another "somewhere" ch allenge, and TFTC!

I spent about half an hour searching for this cache before I had to leave. From the previous logs, this sounds like a fun one. I'll be back.

Mission Not So Impossible

This was one of the nearest caches this evening, so I dropped by to search for it. About an hour (and 4 bags of litter) later, I gave up. In the process, I re-read the description a few times, read all the logs, decided that the terrain rating might be helpful, decided that I had no clue what the encrypted hint means, and enjoyed the scent of rosemary. I'll be back, but I'll probably wait until I figure out something new to try.

Long Number

By: mokelly Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

As others have discovered, determining the correct approach is easier than finding the right tool. The first few tools I tried produced obviously incorrect results, but once I had the right tool, the coordinates quickly fell into place. As others have pointed out, there is an error in the puzzle, but it isn't a problem; it's merely a curiosity for those who have solved the puzzle. This morning, I had time before I needed to pick up my wife, so I dropped by to search for this cache. After searching a bit, I started to think that it might require more searching than I had time for. But then I expanded my search radius a bit more and spotted the nicely hidden cache. TN, L my trackable sig token, SL. Thanks for the puzzle, and TFTC!

Baseball Dream Team

I enjoy puzzles that teach me something new. When I looked at this cache again (after leaving it on the back burner for months), I discovered a very educational resource that I had completely missed before, and learned quite a bit in the process of solving the puzzle. After the update a week ago, I quickly solved the puzzle again to get the new coordinates. This morning, I dropped by to search for the cache. I spotted it quickly (thanks in part to the bonus info from Certitude), but couldn't figure out how to open it. For a while, I even gave up and searched elsewhere. But then I came back to the cache, examined it more carefully, and figured out how to open it. Very nice! TN, L my trackable sig token, SL. Thanks for the educational puzzle, thanks for the clever camouflage, and TFTC!

Unfortunately, I broke the camouflage while replacing the cache. I posted a Needs Maintenance log and contacted the CO direct ly.

I'm so sorry. When I replaced the cache, the camouflage broke. I couldn't figure out a good way to re-hide the cache, so I took it and the broken camouflage with me.

I was at the nearby Kiwanis Youth Camp for CSB's annual NorCal Camporal, and came over to search for this cache during a short break after lunch. I had the place to myself and spotted the well-camouflaged cache quickly. This one definitely looks like it belongs... almost. TN, L my trackable sig token, SL. I had the place to myself and spotted the well-camouflaged cache quickly. When I was here again a couple hours later for the 4-man canoe races, the site was much busier! This is definitely one of the best examples of this type of camouflage that I've seen. TN, L my trackable sig tokens, SL. TFTC!

wat.

By: wat. Difficulty: 4.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Not chosen

wat. is the guy's name on first base? no, wat. is on second. i'm not asking you who.'s on second! no, who.'s on first. i. don't. know. he's on third. Working on this cache, there were times when I could really relate to Mr. Costello:
"I'll break your arm if you say wat.'s the name of the cache again!"
Based on the list of certified solutions, I bet I'm not alone.

Earlier today, I had the necessary "Aha!" moment. This afternoon, I dropped by wh ile running errands. Armed with the provided hints, I searched fruitlessly for a whil e. As I was rereading the hints to verify my search technique, wat. happened to arrive with a replacement container. [:O] After I signed the new log, wat. replaced the container and I verified that my search technique could have worked, had the cache been in place when I had been searching. I'll keep my trackable sig token for this nano-cache moving. TNLNSL. Thanks for a maddeningly clever puzzle, and TFTC!

The Media

I saw where GZ was and immediately read the logs and hint. The logs were helpful. I think the best way to search for this one is just to go for it, acting like you know what you're doing and like you're supposed to be doing it. I'll keep my trackable sig token for this nano-cache moving. There were 7 spaces left on the log. TNLNSL, TFTC.

This was at the top of my "nearest to home" list this afternoon, so I dropped by to search for it. I found it quickly, thanks to the excellent coordinates. My trackable sig token for this cache wouldn't fit, so I'll keep it moving. TNLNSL, TFTC!
