Park & Cache #1: John Drive

By: dalemac57 Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

After today's Iron Sharpens Iron conference, I decided to find a nearby cache before heading home. I walked toward this cache along the convenient footpath, only to encounter a locked gate. So I returned to my vehicle, drove from one parking lot to the other, and found the cache quickly (thanks to excellent coordinates and a familiar camouflage style). Somewhere Not in the Ivy

By: catomcat Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

This was a real challenge for Senshin's Evil Cache Run. First, we had to figure out how to fit 20 people into the walkway. Then we had to figure out how to make room for muggles to pass the 20 people who were standing around in the walkway. Then we had to figure out where the cache could be hidden in the walkway that wasn't somewhere in the ivy. But eventually, even this "typical" hide was no match for us. Somewhere to Blame the Muggles

By: catomcat Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

Senshin's Evil Cache Run dropped by to search for this one. It was cute, but not nearly as challenging as most of the other caches on our agenda. I'll keep my trackable sig token for this nano-cache moving. TNLNSL, TFTC!

Yet Another Walkway!

By: Rocket Girl Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

Senshin's Evil Cache Run wasn't originally planning to search for this one, but we stopped for it as we walked past on our way to another one of the caches on our agenda. We eventually expanded our search radius enough to come up with the cache. TN, L my trackable sig token, SL. TFTC!

Somewhere Not to be Scared

By: catomcat Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

Starting with this cache, Senshin's Evil Cache Run started searching for caches in shifts. A crowd of 20+ people is just too big to be searching for these evil little hides together. I spotted this one quickly, but let someone else retrieve it. I'll keep my trackable sig token for this nano-cache moving. TNLNSL, TFTC!

Somewhere Metamorphic

By: catomcat Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

Senshin's Evil Cache Run made quick work of this one, thanks to the precise location provided by the owner, and the necessary tool provided by one of our members. I'll keep my trackable sig token for this nano-cache moving. We all signed as "GBA Flash Mob" given the limited room in the log (only 3 spaces left now). TNLNSL, TFTC!

Somewhere Near the Not So Secret Walkway

By: catomcat Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

This was the penultimate stop for Senshin's Evil Cache Run. I've seen a lot of ways to hide this type of container at this type of location, but this was the first time I saw this particular technique. Very clever! I'll keep my trackable sig token moving. TNLNSL, TFTC!

Somewhere in Serra Park

By: catomcat Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

I joined Senshin's Evil Cache Run a bit late, since I had already found the first cache on the agenda. Fortunately, it was easy to spot the crowd of more than a dozen people searching for this cache, the second one on the agenda. I arrived just before this clever cache was found. Somewhere in Los Altos

By: catomcat Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

This was the last stop for Senshin's Evil Cache Run. I spotted this nicely camouflaged cache, and then backed away to let others enjoy it. TN, L my trackable sig tokens, SL. TFTC!

Somewhere with No Strings Attached

By: catomcat Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

Senshin's Evil Cache Run walked over to this one, and I spotted it quickly. It wasn't nearly as "evil" as some of the other caches we found today. I'll keep my trackable sig token for this nano-cache moving. Given the limited log space, we all signed as "GBA Flash Mob". TNLNSL, TFTC!

Somewhere in Cupertino?

By: catomcat Difficulty: 4.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

Senshin's Evil Cache Run gained a few more members at this cache, but they had already found it and just enjoyed the show as one small group after another searched for and (eventually) found this tricky little hide. It was a challenge even knowing exactly where to search and exactly what we were searching for. I'll keep my trackable sig token for this nano-cache moving. TNLNSL, TFTC!

Somewhere in Loehmann's Plaza

By: catomcat Difficulty: 3.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Small

It's a good thing I was here as part of Senshin's Evil Cache Run. I'm not sure I could have retrieved the cache on my own. TN, L my trackable sig token, SL. TFTC!

20th Century Crier

By: The Petoskey Stones Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

Senshin's Evil Cache Run didn't originally plan to search for this cache, but we dropped by anyway since we were in the area. TN, L my trackable sig token, SL. TFTC!

Be Scared (and don't take the inner mechanism)

By: GraffnTrix Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

This cache and the other one in the park were at the top of my "nearest to church" list, so I dropped by this afternoon to search for them. I spotted this one immediately due to its lack of cover. This cache didn't scare me, but then the original didn't either. I think this mechanism works better in theory than it does in practice. I made a point of automatically decrypting the hint (despite the owner's attempts to thwart automatic decryption), just to make sure the cache wasn't out of place when I found it. Have Fear (and be careful removing the cache)

By: GraffnTrix Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

This cache and the other one in the park were at the top of my "nearest to church" list, so I dropped by this afternoon to search for them. This one was an easy find, once I stopped looking for it. The craftsmanship is impressive, even though I didn't find it at all scary. I made a point of automatically decrypting the hint (despite the owner's attempts to thwart automatic decryption), even though there was little chance that the cache was out of place when I found it. Defected Whizzer Codes

By: Team Klinward Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

Today, bykenut, KendraH, geodanimal, Cap'n Finder, and I retrieved Venona's clue for ACTIVITY 10. Afterwards, I tagged along with KendraH as she searched for a few of the Livermore puzzle caches that she had solved, including this one. Tonight, I solved the puzzle before logging the find online. I immediately knew what to do, but there were some interesting ambiguities and obfuscations along the way. As KendraH said, it was raining when we found the cache, but the log was already wet. Fortunately, her pen was able to write on the log anyway. I'll keep my trackable sig token for this nano-cache moving. TNLNSL, TFTC!

Afterwards, I tagged along with KendraH as she searched for a few of the Livermore puzzle caches that she had solved, including this one. Tonight, I solved the puzzle before logging the find online. I like puzzles that tell you exactly what you need to do to solve them, and it wasn't hard to follow the instructions for this one. I just had to be sure to follow them carefully. Leave My "Worthy Pun Alone!"

By: Team Yofa Difficulty: 3.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

Today, bykenut, KendraH, geodanimal, Cap'n Finder, and I retrieved Venona's clue for ACTIVITY 10. Afterwards, I tagged along with KendraH as she searched for a few of the Livermore puzzle caches that she had solved, including this one. KendraH found the cache, right where I had searched just a few minutes earlier. I must have stared right at it (or right past it) and not seen it. Tonight, I solved the puzzle before logging the find online. This one was a challenge. I managed to correctly identify all the images on the left quickly, using the tools at my disposal. But then what? Eventually I had the necessary "Aha!" moment after rereading the encrypted hint yet again. I quickly produced the correct answers on the right, and had the coordinates shortly thereafter. T Team Yofa sig token, L foreign coin and my trackable sig tokens, SL. Thanks for a very enjoyable puzzle, and TFTC!

Time for reflection

By: TeamDoJ Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

This cache was at the top of my "nearest to church" list, so I dropped by to search for it today. The camouflage is nicely crafted, but something about it grabbed my attention and I had the cache in hand quickly.
