I was in the area, and this cache looked interesting. I couldn't help but wonder what kind of nut I'd find. This is a nice little park, although I couldn't help but wonder how hot the playground equipment was, given the sun and lack of shade. This one has been at the top of my "nearest to home" list for a while, and I finally dropped by to search for it while running errands. I found it in the first place I looked. Scout It Out

By: Little"D" Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Small

This cache was on my "nearest to church" list, so I dropped by. There were more than a dozen mini-muggles nearby, having a great time launching their homemade water rockets. So I waited. This is an interesting memorial. It's clearly seen better days, but it remains as a tribute to Mr. Sheridan and the investment he made in the lives of others.

Eventually, all the mini-muggles had had had 2 turns launching their homemade water rockets, and it was snack time. They all disappeared i nside and I began my search. It turned out that the first thing I checked was the cache, but I didn't check "thoroughly" enough. Eventually, I had checked everywhere else, and checked the cache one more time. I hope this camouflage doesn't lead to the real thing being damaged by overeager geocachers . TN, L my trackable sig token, SL. TFTC!

I was in the area this evening, and this cache was on the list of nearby caches so I decided to drop by and search for it. Wow... once again I am reminded just how effective this simple camouflage technique can be. I expanded my search radius, re-read the description, read the hint and a few logs, and restarted my search from GZ. Then I re-read the description and hint, read a bunch more logs, and restarted my search from GZ again. After more than half an hour of searching and CITO, I was about to give up when a neighbor asked if I had found it and offered to show me where it was (for a price [;)] ). I didn't have him show me where it was, but his comments reassured me that it was still there. Moments later, I found it within a few feet of GZ. Random

By: geomagguy Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Small

There isn't a lot of information to work with for this cache, but I suppose that's appropriate, given the name. I searched GZ, expecting a well-camouflaged small container, then re-read the cache description and read all the past logs. I expanded my search radius (still looking for a well-camouflaged small container), re-read the cache description and past logs again, and then noticed someone with a GPSr in hand walking towards me. We introduced ourselves and discussed the information we had culled from reading the past logs. Then she reached down and immediately had the cache in hand. The terrain rating is solid: there is no need to leave the pavement. And the difficulty is probably about right: I was clearly over-thinking this one. But the size rating is off (see below), which helped me over-think it. There was no stash note, so I left a weatherproof one. TN, L my trackable sig token, SL. As others have discovered, determining the correct approach is easier than finding the right tool. The first few tools I tried produced obviously incorrect results, but once I had the right tool, the coordinates quickly fell into place. As others have pointed out, there is an error in the puzzle, but it isn't a problem; it's merely a curiosity for those who have solved the puzzle. This morning, I had time before I needed to pick up my wife, so I dropped by to search for this cache. Pickup Lines II: Electric Boogaloo

By: xmts (maintained by mokelly) Difficulty: 3.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

"Some girl with psychic powers, She said `T-Bone, what`s your sign?` I blink and answer `Neon!` I thought I`d blow her mind." - Tom "T-Bone" Stankus ("Existential Blues") I somehow missed the original Pickup Lines, but I've been working on my "nearest puzzles to home" list again and noticed this revival. I solved the puzzle quickly since it's a variation of a basic technique I've seen elsewhere. This morning I dropped by to sear ch for the cache. Wow... very nice! There were others around, so I started out by checking the usual spots visually while savoring my coffee and enjoying the beautiful morning. Then I noticed something interesting at GZ, but I kept looking until I had the place to myself and could examine what I had noticed more carefully. It turned out to be the very nicely camouflaged cache. The log was a bit damp, but I was able to let it dry in the sun. I'll keep my trackable sig token for this nano-cache moving. TNLNSL, TFTC!

Jesus Man Cache

I stopped to search for this one because I happened to be nearby, and was pleasantly surprised. Except for the traffic sounds, this is actually a nice spot to enjoy a sunny morning. Baseball Dream Team

By: The Ninja Duck Difficulty: 4.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

I first looked at this puzzle more than a year ago. Even though I'm not much of a baseball fan, I could easily appreciate the significance of the men chosen for the "Dream Team". Unfortunately, that didn't give me coordinates. More recently, I discovered a resource that I had been unable to find before. It was a very educational resource, and the rest of the puzzle started making sense. I quickly obtained coordinates, and Certitude agreed with me.

This afternoon, I found myself in the area and decided to drop by to sea rch for the cache. Unfortunately, the location was rather busy at the time, and I wasn't aware of the nature of the hide. But the muggles were almost done, and while I waited, I was able to read the cache description and the recent logs more carefully. I was also able to do a visual inspection of GZ . When the muggles left, I had the place to myself, but I still came up empty. If I'm right about the nature of the hide, then I don't know when I'll be back with the necessary "special tool". Thanks for the fun and educational puzzle though.

Looking Joint Probabilities

By: GraffnTrix Difficulty: 3.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

3TF! Like the others, I recognized the reference, tried a few things, tried a few other things, and then realized I was staring at coordinates. Wow... Even with the zero hack, the construction of this puzzle is impressive. [8D] This afternoon, I decided to drop by to search for the cache, and had the place all to myself. It's a good thing no one else was around, because it took me a while to find this micro-cache. Hmm... I thought I had checked that location when I first arrived at GZ. [:I] I didn't realize this type of container was available in such a small size. There was no stash note, so I left a weatherproof one. What A State

By: The Rat Difficulty: 3.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

I never heard this very punny song when I was a kid, but I did discover it as a volunteer youth leader at church, when I was looking for songs to lead at campfires. Unfortunately, the kids don't seem to enjoy it nearly as much as I do. [:(] Anyway, the crossword puzzle was fun, and in some cases, educational. Unfortunately, I forgot The Rat's advice and tried to copy-paste the coordinates: click... oops. So I transcribed the solution, refreshed the page, and started over. Unfortunately, I made a small error in my transcription. The e rror seemed obvious once I noticed it, but it sure took me a while to notice it.

After donating blood this morning, I drove by to search for the cache. I found it quickly, then took it to my vehicle so the rain wouldn't get the contents wet while I signed the log. TN, L my trackable sig tokens, SL. Thanks for a fun puzzle, and TFTC!

By: kablooey's 2010 Puzzle Challenge Difficulty: 3.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

Looking in the right spot makes all the difference in the world. I returned this morning to redeem my DNF, armed with a correct reading of the bonus hint. I found a number of interesting (but unfruitful) hide locations before expanding my search radius a bit. Then I spotted the key object mentioned in the bonus hint, and soon after that I found the cache. Without the bonus hint, this is truly an evil hide. Even with the bonus hint, it's still a challenging hide. My trackable sig token for this cache would not fit through the container opening, so I'll keep it moving. I dried out the log as well as I could, but it was still damp when I returned the cache to it's hiding spot. TNLNSL. Thanks for an interesting puzzle that pushed me out of my areas of expertise in multiple ways, and TFTC!

I've seen this type of online puzzle before, but this particular one is new to me. This was an educational puzzle. Even after I had identified most of the photos, it still took me a while to correctly identify the theme of the puzzle. Even after I had identified the theme of the puzzle, it still took me a while to correctly identify the last photo (and for that, I needed a big hint from Certitude). This morning, I dropped by to search for the cache, but came up empty. I see now that I misread the bonus hint, which had me searching the wrong area. I'll be back...

Puzzix: Puzzles For Everybody! #1: Multiple Images

By: GraffnTrix Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Micro

I solved Puzzle #1, and dropped by this afternoon to search for the cache. I have to agree with the other comments that this deserves more than 1.5 stars for difficulty, for both the puzzle and the hide. I had the place to myself when I started exploring GZ, but shortly thereafter the place got a little busy. I expanded my search radius significantly, wondering whether I had made a mistake with some of the digits, but eventually came back to GZ. This time, I spotted it immediately, right where I had looked before. I hate it when that happens. I retrieved it easily, signed the log, and replaced it. Somewhere Not in the Ivy

By: catomcat Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

This was a real challenge for Senshin's Evil Cache Run. First, we had to figure out how to fit 20 people into the walkway. Then we had to figure out how to make room for muggles to pass the 20 people who were standing around in the walkway. Then we had to figure out where the cache could be hidden in the walkway that wasn't somewhere in the ivy. But eventually, even this "typical" hide was no match for us. Be Scared (and don't take the inner mechanism)

By: GraffnTrix Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

This cache and the other one in the park were at the top of my "nearest to church" list, so I dropped by this afternoon to search for them. I spotted this one immediately due to its lack of cover. This cache didn't scare me, but then the original didn't either. I think this mechanism works better in theory than it does in practice. I made a point of automatically decrypting the hint (despite the owner's attempts to thwart automatic decryption), just to make sure the cache wasn't out of place when I found it.
