Another Box to Open

By: mrstrix Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

While solving Fresno puzzle caches prior to my trip this weekend with Mrs. niraD, I discovered this on-site puzzle cache. I dropped by this afternoon to find and solve it. The box is still in pretty good shape, considering how long it's been out here, and it was a pleasure to discover the tricks it concealed. FWGB. T Team Forward Motion sig item, L incense holders and my trackable sig token, SL. As I was returning the cache to its hiding place, I met the owner. After I replaced the cache, we talked for a while. He encouraged me to try a couple more of his on-site puzzles, and to redeem one of my DNFs from yesterday. I didn't have time for the on-site puzzles, but I did manage to redeem the DNF. Thanks for sharing your puzzle box, thanks for the conversation, and TFTC!

It's about time

By: ckjohnsen Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

This was one of the Fresno puzzle caches I solved prior to my trip this weekend with Mrs. niraD. The puzzle was pretty easy for me, since I've solved a couple others with the same theme, and I recognized it immediately. This afternoon, I dropped by to search for the cache, and it happened to be the first thing I touched once I reached GZ. It's very well camouflaged though. FWGB. I'll keep my trackable sig token for this nano-cache moving. TNLNSL, TFTC!

This was one of the Fresno puzzle caches I solved prior to my trip this weekend with Mrs. niraD. I like puzzles like this one that teach me something new. I dropped by to search for the cache this afternoon. I had to park some distance away, but I was still able to search undisturbed. I spotted the cache quickly though. FWGB. This afternoon, I met mrstrix at one of his on-site puzzles. During our conversation, I mentioned yesterday's DNF at this cache, and he encouraged me to search more thoroughly in a location that I had already searched. I had just enough time to stop at the cache site before meeting my wife at her convention, and sure enough, there it was. I'm not sure why I didn't spot it when I searched there yesterday. FWGB. Three Hour Tour

By: mrstrix Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

This was one of the Fresno puzzle caches I solved prior to my trip this weekend with Mrs. niraD. The puzzle was a fun trip down Nostalgia Lane. This afternoon, I dropped by to search for the cache. I found the cache in the second place I looked, but then I had to figure out how to retrieve it without pushing it beyond reach. FWGB. There was no stash note, so I left a waterproof one. I also reassembled something that should never have been disassembled. Future seekers should know that there is no need to disassemble anything to retrieve this cache. This was one of the Fresno puzzle caches I solved prior to my trip this weekend with Mrs. niraD. I solved this one quickly once I found the appropriate reference. This was the third cache I searched for this afternoon, but only my first find of the day. FWGB. TN, my trackable sig token, SL. TFTC!

This was one of the Fresno puzzle caches I solved prior to my trip this weekend with Mrs. niraD. The puzzle was relatively easy for me, since I've solved another puzzle cache that uses the same technique. But the hide stumped me this afternoon. DNFWGB.

It Came From The Russian

This was one of the Fresno puzzle caches I solved prior to my trip this weekend with Mrs. niraD. I solved this one fairly quickly, in part because Venona used a similar theme in one of the many ACTIVITIES he has used to taunt the Geocachers of the Bay Area. It was also nice to end the afternoon with a find, rather than another DNF. FWGB. T crew416 sig token, L rocket pin and my trackable sig token, SL. TFTC!

Arbolejo Overlook

By: willmonkey Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Small

This morning, I visited Foothills Park with the boys and dads of our church's CSB Stockade unit. On our hike around the park, I introduced them to geocaching. This overlook was our first stop, and our first (and only) find of the day. We searched huckle-buckle-beanstalk style, and everyone eventually spotted it. FWGB. You Can Learn A Lot From Lydia

By: Grouchosumtin Difficulty: 3.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Micro

This evening, my wife and I went for a walk between dinner at Woodstock's and dessert at Marianne's. Along the way, I stopped a couple times to search for Santa Cruz puzzle caches that I had solved. Or at least, that I thought I had solved. I came up with nothing when I searched for this one, and after rereading the description, I think I'll need to recheck my solution. DNFWGB.

Cabin Coif

By: UV980 and nedsan Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

Today, while my wife worked at an event at the Louden Nelson Community Center, I searched for a few of the Santa Cruz puzzle caches that I had solved. As Steve L said, this one is pretty straight-forward once you figure out its theme. And it was a pretty quick find once the GPSr settled down. I'm surprised I got STF three weeks after it was published. There was no stash note, so I left a waterproof one. Today, while my wife worked at an event at the Louden Nelson Community Center, I searched for a few of the Santa Cruz puzzle caches that I had solved. This was a fun adventure, although I missed seeing stage 6 the first time, and realized my mistake only when I saw stage 9. After logging the final, I went back and found stages 6-8 easily. Who's on First

By: 50sumtin Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

Today, while my wife worked at an event at the Louden Nelson Community Center, I searched for a few of the Santa Cruz puzzle caches that I had solved. The park was busy, but no one was playing baseball, and no one was paying attention to me. I read the hint and grabbed the cache quickly. There wasn't room for many more logs, so I added a waterproof log sheet to the cache. I'll keep my trackable sig token for this cache moving. FWGB, TNLNSL. Puzzle in an Enigma

By: santacruztacean Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Other

Today, while my wife worked at an event at the Louden Nelson Community Center, I searched for a few of the Santa Cruz puzzle caches that I had solved. This puzzle was a breeze compared to the other Enigma-based puzzle that I've solved, and I quickly realized where the cache itself had to be. FWGB. Lockhart Gulch

By: peigimccann and robertburns Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Micro

My wife and I were at Mission Springs this weekend, so I dropped by to find this cache during our free time on Saturday afternoon. I had a tough time getting a decent signal, but eventually it settled down enough for me to find the cache with the aid of the decrypted hint. I don't understand why this is listed as a "small" though, since a 35 mm film canister is used to define a "micro" in the guidelines.
