FINAL ACTIVITY EVENT

By: Venona (hosted by Bullitovsky) Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Not chosen

It was great to see so many familiar faces again, and to meet so many geocachers that I knew only by name. Receiving the Order of Venona was quite an honor, and tagging along for the final puzzle was a lot of fun. TN, L Moon Mushroom Geocoin, ARIZONA Key Chain 2 TB, and my trackable sig tokens, discovered a bunch of TBs and GCs, SL. Thanks to Venona for preparing such creative and enjoyable 2008 ACTIVITIES, thanks to all my fellow Order of Venona recipients for letting me tag along for the ride, thanks to Bullitovsky for hosting the event, and TFTC!

The Rainbow Bridge

By: bykenut Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular

Mrs. niraD and I kicked off the new year by joining sammydee's GBA group hike in Santa Teresa County Park. This was my third find of the day. When Nora (my wife's second guide dog) retired, we kept her and she became "my" dog. We moved her bed to my side of the room, and I took her for a walk every morning. She got along great with the new guide dog, and enjoyed her retirement. Several months later, the vet removed a tumor that turned o ut to be malignant, and estimated that Nora had 3-4 months left, 6-8 months at the most. However, Nora enjoyed another 18 months before the cancer claimed her.
