Plane Old Puzzle #1 - PAO

By: mvflyer Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Micro

"Now, Snoopy had sworn that he'd get that man So he asked the Great Pumpkin for a new battle plan He challenged the German to a real dogfight While the Baron was laughing, he got him in his sight "That Bloody Red Baron was in a fix
He'd tried everything, but he'd run out of tricks
Snoopy fired once, and he fired twice
And that Bloody Red Baron went spinning out of sight"

I quickly figured out how to catch the Red Baron myself, and had the coordinates after just a little work. This morning , I found the cache after a pleasant walk near the airport. TN, L my trackable sig token, SL. TFTC!

PH0NY II

By: WeBeDnD (with help from Ceara) Difficulty: 4.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

I missed the full experience when I found this one last week, so I decided to try it again. I had a lot of difficulty with the first PH0NY clue this time. First, I swapped two digits in my coordinates; naturally, I found nothing PH0NY there. I found and fixed that error, but there was nothing PH0NY about the new location either. I checked with the owner, who pointed out where my coordina tes from the first PH0NY clue were wrong.

This morning I dropped by the correct coordinates, quickly found a PH0NY location with another PH0NY clue, and got the coordinates for the PH0NY cache (which I already had from finding it last week).

This was a fun puzzle, and it certainly presented a kind of challenge that I don't experience often. Thanks!

PH0NY II

By: WeBeDnD (with help from Ceara) Difficulty: 4.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

I solved the first PH0NY puzzle quickly, but then I had to convince myself that I really had solved it. The first PH0NY clue made me smile. So did the second PH0NY clue, although I had to check it a couple extra times to make sure I had it right. Tonight I found the PH0NY cache quickly. By: noababoa Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular

This was a beautiful morning (before the storm?) for geocaching around Shoreline Park. I don't think the container was where the owner intended it to be; I didn't need a tool to retrieve it. I replaced it where I think it belongs, but the owner should probably check up on it. I found the paper passport for Emergency! Somewhere in Los Altos revisited.

By: catomcat Difficulty: 3.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

Finally! I spent almost an hour here this morning, but the find was worth it. I was searching the hide location yet again when I realized that this isn't a 5-star hide. So I thought a moment, looked one more time, and found what I was looking for. Great job! I will keep my trackable sig token for this nano-cache moving. By: budd-rdc Difficulty: 3.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Not chosen

When I finally figured it out, it seemed so obvious. Why did I spend so much time on the red herrings and rabbit trails? The cache itself was a quick find that reminded me of the hide technique used for a couple other caches I've found recently. There was no stash note, so I left a waterproof one. C or N?

By: zapboy Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

I spotted the "N" first. The container wasn't visible when I found it, but I think I figured out where it should be. When I put it back, it was both visible and precariously placed. The owner may want to verify its current location, and perhaps even include a description of the proper location inside the cache, in case it gets dislodged again. I've been using your online tools for a while, so when someone mentioned this puzzle cache in the forums on thegba.net, I was able to solve it quickly. It helped to know that it would be within 2 miles, and that I would end up with 15 digits. ("Fifteen shall be the digits thou shalt find, and the number of the digits shall be fifteen....") By: geotap and skwerlie Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Small

After clearing Coyote Point of unfound caches, I dropped by for this one. It was a quick find using the coordinates posted by others. The container is not waterproof, and the log book was damp. In The Event of a Water Landing...

By: PurplePeople Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

On the way back to my car from a nearby 2-star hide, I stopped for this 3.5-star hide. Very nice camouflage! I'd hate to see a "truly evil" hide, if this one is only "slightly evil". Still, I found it fairly quickly, mainly because the coordinates were spot on, and because I knew I could ignore the more mundane hide locations. I will keep my trackable sig token for this nano-cache moving. TNLNSL, TFTC!

Valley Stream Nectar

By: Vaudesir Difficulty: 4.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

This was a fun, educational puzzle. Even while chasing red herrings and following rabbit trails, I still enjoyed learning about new things. Once I saw the theme, I quickly learned what I needed to know to solve it, although I was a bit nervous using unofficial references. But given that I couldn't find an official reference... Using the hint, I found it quickly tonight after work. I'm a bit concerned that this one won't last long though, given the container type and location. I hope I'm wrong. Thanks for the new icon and TFTC! The only criticism I could have about the workshop is that it was too short. Impasse

By: trode Difficulty: 4.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Micro

I've had this one solved for quite a while, but just now got around to picking it up. IIRC, this was a quick, fun puzzle. It was a quick find on this beautiful February morning, complete with another one of those "Why?" moments, when I saw something that seemed quite out of place. The container was rather visible and had what appeared to be an unused attachment mechanism. However, I couldn't figure out how to use the attachment mechanism effectively. In the end, I rehid it in the same place I found it, but hopefully it isn't quite as obvious now. TN, L my trackable sig token, SL. TFTC!
