Dave got Cached at Shoreline

By: rjb2001, BiggggAl, and friends of DMB Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular

I happened to be in the area, so I dropped by to check on this cache. It wasn't where I found it back in September, but the plants here have taken a lot of abuse, and the original location would have been quite exposed. I moved the attachment mechanism to where I found the cache this time, to help secure it a bit. The current location is better, but it's still easy to see from certain angles, since it isn't camouflaged at all. I left a waterproof stash note and log sheet. I also added a handful of seashells to the two DMB pencils.

I'm not sure this location can support this large a container. It is by necessity very close to a lot of foot/bicycle traffic. Some camouflage might help, or it might accelerate the damage to the nearby plants.

Rabbits For Rosco

By: RoscoC Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular

This was a quick find before work, because the cache was pretty much sitting out in the open. I rehid it where the hint and faint geotrail indicated it should be hidden. There was no stash note or "real" log, so I left a waterproof stash note and log. I didn't see a geocoin. SMILIE I found the cache first, and then the source of the "audible clue" (which wasn't very audible on this quiet morning). Picking a single favorite food is tough, but I'll go with mince pie because it's one I look forward to every year as the holiday season approaches. Marie Callender's usually starts serving it in November, and stops serving it after Christmas. It's warm and sweet and spicy (cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, etc., not the kind measured on the Scoville scale), with a flakey crust and warm, rich butter-rum sauce on the side. After dropping by Stage 1 of the multi-cache that heads my "nearest to home" list, I decided to grab a couple local puzzle caches. This was one of them. I started this adventure some time ago, working through the steps to get my final coordinates. I made a mistake at step 3 (from reading the logs, it was the same mistake others have made), but I figured it out on my own because my cache location and parking location didn't make sense. Today I drop ped by and discovered that my adventure wasn't over. I was pretty sure I knew where the clue for the last step would be (and it turns out I was right), but I didn't have access to it at the time. Interesting puzzle. I dropped by last night but didn't find the cache. Actually, I didn't drop by HERE last night, which was the whole problem. I made a slight error (transcription, not math or chemistry) in one of the digits of my solution and ended up somewhere else. (Checksum? Oh, yeah, right...) More Digits

By: PhilippeGPS (now managed by WeBeDnD) Difficulty: 4.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Not chosen

Digits was my 350th find, so I made this one my 400th find! I really enjoyed this pair of puzzles. The encrypted hints from Digits are no longer 100% accurate, but it shouldn't cause anyone problems. TN, L my trackable sig tokens for this cache, for the nano-cache I found before this one, and for the virtual cache I found before that, SL. My CD motogrrl Memorial Geocoin would not fit, so I will keep it moving. TFTC!

Old Blue Eyes

This was my 399th find, on my way to my 400th find. I found what I expected to find, and I found it pretty much right where I expected to find it, but I still missed it the first time I checked its hiding spot. The log is full; I used the last available space. I will keep my trackable sig token for this nano-cache moving. TNLNSL, TFTC!

101 TFTs - One Pair

By: winini Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

I was in the area, and I had the required tokens, so I decided to drop by to find this one. It took me more than 6 months caching in the Bay Area (more than 200 finds) to obtain the second Echo token, and even then I had to do a bit of "winini stalking" to get it. I don't think a 2* difficulty rating reflects that. Actually, I don't think the caches in this series are really "traditional" caches any longer, given the work required to satisfy the owner's additional logging requirements. But anyway... TN, L my CD motogrrl Memorial Geocoin and my trackable sig token, SL. TFTC!

The Wall

By: WeBeDnD Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

This was a quick find to end a New Year's Day caching run. We used to live in the neighborhood, and passed this location on our way to the library. It seemed odd to us then, too. The hinge is broken, but the lid still seems to stay in place if you close it properly. Also, the log is nearly full. TN, L my trackable sig token, SL. TFTC!
