Don't mess with the Army

By: Jim and Jeanette Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Other

I found this one pretty quickly, considering the hide technique. It's a good thing no one was around though. TN, L Travel Bug soldiers and new niraD sig token, SL. This isn't quite the "historical military site" the TB soldiers want to visit, but I think this cache's theme is appropriate. TFTC!

Community Garden

By: Sierra Hikers Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

Hey, I recognize this park! I was here a few years ago for a company picnic, but I didn't notice the beautiful community garden then. I wholeheartedly agree with the hint, BTW. SMILIE It took me an awfully long time to find this 1.5-star micro-cache; I just kept looking right past it. There was no stash note, so I left one. TN, L seashell and new niraD sig token, SL. Thanks for bringing me back here, and TFTC!

The Cuesta Quest

By: Beckerbuns Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Regular

What a great micro-wilderness spot. I've been to Cuesta Park many times, but I've never been out here. Sitting next to the open ammo box, I could almost forget that suburbia was no more than a few hundred feet away in any direction. T babest51 sig card and Mr. Brownie TB, L seashells, Haughtons Hunters Geocoin, and new niraD sig token, SL. The bus stops here?!

By: vaccine Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

This was a quick find after work. I first noticed bus stops on freeway offramps in Marin County, then then I noticed a few down here too. I suppose it makes sense for express busses. TN, L seashell and niraD sig token, SL. TFTC!

Benny

By: bthomas Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

Wow! Thanks for introducing me to Benny's work. I don't think the stage 2 coordinates are very accurate, but as others have said, it really doesn't matter. I found the intended location easily, and enjoyed several others along the way. And what a great spot for the final stage! However, the log sheet is almost full. East Evelyn Oaks

By: MadDad (maintained by bullit) Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Small

This was a quick find while running errands. The nearby construction razed the other landmarks that I remembered from the satellite photos, but these two fine oak trees are still standing strong. There was no stash note, so I left one. TN, L seashells and new niraD sig token, SL. Thanks show showing me these oaks, and TFTC!

Wizard Walnut Huller

By: rib Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

Thanks for bringing me to this interesting location. I'll have to come back later when I have more time, and when there isn't a wedding rehearsal taking place nearby. (Although I did enjoy listening to the recessional music while logging the find.) T anonymous Fimo token, L seashell and new niraD sig token, SL. TFTC!

Northern CA Solar System Model: Luna

By: shadow101 Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

I figured that I probably wouldn't be able to find this one when I saw the nearby construction, but I was wrong. There it was, safe and sound. TN, L new niraD sig token (yes, it fit), SL. TFTC!

Government Test

By: bthomas Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

This was a quick find before work, and before finding the other "Government Test" cache. There was no stash note, so I left one. And the container isn't waterproof, so I left the stash note and log in a new ziplock. TN, L new niraD sig token, SL. TFTC!

RWC History 101: Climate Best by Government Test

By: PisoMojado Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

A few weeks ago, I recorded the information at stage 1 while waiting for Caltrain. This morning, I dropped by to find stage 2 before work (and after finding the other "Government Test" cache). It's easy to use CITO as cover here. T broken maze toy, L frog flinger, seashells, and new niraD sig token, SL. Thanks for the history lesson and TFTC!

Shopping by Numbers

By: Sierra Hikers Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

I dropped by again this morning before work, armed with a more specific description of the hide location from the owner. It isn't there. Sorry. [:(]

Stairway to the Bay

By: vaccine Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

I dropped by this morning to grab the yellow Echo token. Now all I need is a pair of Jazz tokens to log the 101 TFTs cache closest to my home. (I left some GDB stickers.)

By: mjp303 (adopted by niraD) Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

I dropped off my CCL motogrrl Memorial Geocoin this evening. (It wouldn't fit in my 250th find this morning.)

Rogue Ramblers' 45-Step Birthday Cache

By: Rogue Ramblers Difficulty: 3.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

Finally! It turns out that last time I followed all 45 stages correctly, but just didn't find the container. Then I proceeded to overthink the puzzle, retracing all previous stages, starting over from the top, pursuing assorted red herrings, etc. This morning, after a bit of reflection, I found the cache in the area I had searched originally. TN, L new niraD sig token, SL. Thanks for the fun challenge and TFTC, my 250th find!

Big Worm-Gear Needed

By: digitalfish Difficulty: 4.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Not chosen

I had noticed the DNFs, and since I was in the neighborhood, I dropped by to check on the cache. It's still right where I found it.

Tanks for the Cache

By: bthomas Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

"Tanks" for bringing me here. For some reason I was expecting a nano cache, so I spent a fair bit of time looking for something tiny hidden in plain sight. Eventually I read the hint and found it quickly thereafter. I placed the Travel Bug soldiers in the container, but then I had to take them back out so I could put the log back in. Rogue Ramblers' 45-Step Birthday Cache

Shopping by Numbers

By: Sierra Hikers Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

I finally got around to figuring out the value of e, and this morning I rode up the hill from the Hillsdale Caltrain station. This is a nice neighborhood, and a nice location. But even with the hint, I couldn't find the cache. I even searched all the nearby objects that matched the hint. I'll be back.

Bus Bench Bogaloo #5

By: southbayday Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

This one is just down the street from my home, so I dropped by while cycling to the Caltrain station this morning. I noticed some seashells on the ground below the cache location, so I returned them to the container.

Beware of the Horsemen

By: woody666 & NLRW Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Small

I dropped by on the way to work, since this is just off the path I take cycling from the Caltrain station to work. (Yeah! I'm cycling again!) The coordinates were very good, and the camouflage really brought a smile to my face. [:D] FWIW, the niraD sig token in this cache is the one I left for Burton Park Revisited. Minor Inconvenience

By: Woof! Difficulty: 3.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

This one has been on my "nearest to work" list for a while. By the time I checked the puzzle hint, I had already adopted the suggestion on my own. However, I refused to see what was obviously missing, and kept overthinking the puzzle. I got the "aha moment" last week, and made the extra drive for the cache this morning before work. A very nice location, and a quick find once the area was clear of muggles. There was no stash note, so I left one. The container clearly is not waterproof, so I left the stash note and the (currently dry) log in a new ziplock. TN, L new niraD sig token, SL. TFTC!

Ask Your Kids #3

By: UncleTom Difficulty: 3.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

This has been on my "nearest to work" list for a while. I hate to admit how long it took me to decrypt the code. Finally, I gave up searching the web for a key and quickly figured out the code on my own. After that, coming up with the final coordinates and finding the container were easy. Mayfield Puzzle

By: budd-rdc Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Micro

I was in the area, so I dropped by to check out the replacement cache. I think it blends into its environment much better than the one I found. But improvising a tool would have been much harder with this one.

By: ChrissySkyking + Blaze (adopted by kindredlau Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

By: MotorBug Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

The D.P.C.

By: Bob Cat Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

This was a quick find after work. I figured out the meaning of the cache name as I drove up. After finding the cache, I decrypted the hint, but it made no sense. While doing a little CITO, I found something that the hint could refer to, but it was more than 150' away, so I still don't get it. TN, L seashell and niraD sig token, SL. TFTC!

Around Ten Birds

By: digitalfish Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Small

Anchors Aweigh

By: crawburr Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Micro

I started off trying to work this one out by ear, but although I have a good ear for tunes, I have a very poor ear (or perhaps, a very poorly trained ear) for recognizing intervals. Of course, by the time I found sheet music for this tune, I probably could have worked it out by ear anyway. The location was appropriate, and a pleasant evening stroll. There was no stash note, so I left one. T dw's I [heart] Geocaching pin, L seashells and niraD sig token, SL. TFTC!

10 Essentials

By: workerofwood, with thanks to Vaudesir Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Regular

They Call This Art? -

By: southbayday Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

The Fiber Channel

By: Rogue Ramblers Difficulty: 4.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

Once I figured out the theme of this puzzle, it was just a matter of finding the appropriate tools to automate the decryption process. I stopped by after work and had to wait out a couple groups of muggles. But eventually I was able to search in earnest, and I found it quickly. The container wasn't quite closed, but with a bit of work, I figured out how to rearrange the stash note, log sheet, and ziplock so it would close completely. TN, L new niraD sig token, SL. TFTC!
