Historic Palo Alto 3 - RAFAEL ?S RANCHO

By: Rain734 Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

I completed the first stage 3 weeks ago, and dropped by tonight on the way home for a muggle-free search for the second stage. There was no stash note, so I left one. TN, L seashells and niraD sig tokens for this cache and for the previous cache I found (a nano cache with no room for sig tokens), SL. The Stop and Go,Go,Go Cache

By: Team Capsaicin Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

Okay, so it was a long shot. But the email came in just before I left home, so I had to try. But I didn't get there until just before dw had hidden it again...

The Stop and Go,Go,Go Cache

By: Team Capsaicin Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

I read dw's log and headed out the door. I found the cache just before midnight, but it took a while to find one of these where I could rehide the cache. Then I had to get the coordinates. TN, L niraD sig token, SL. TFTC!

Eucalyptus conferruminata

By: Rogue Ramblers Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Micro

This was a quick find after work since I had a pretty good idea what I was looking for. But it is a very well made container. I left my sig token for this nano cache in the next cache I found, since there wasn't room for it here. TNLNSL, TFTC!

Park Place

By: Sierra Hikers Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

This was a quick find after work. I used CITO as a cover, and the container was right where I expected it to be. There was no stash note, so I left one. Fairchild Superfund

I was here a couple weeks ago to find a nearby multi-cache, but I forgot the information I needed to log this virtual cache. I left my sig token for this virtual cache in the next cache I found. TFTC!

Nuts!

By: UncleTom Difficulty: 4.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

I solved the puzzle by hand a while ago. The first time I dropped by to pick up the cache, the area was being used for a large event, so I didn't bother searching. This morning before work, I had the place almost to myself and found the cache quickly. I replaced the perforated ziplock. TN, L small seashell, extra Rogue Ramblers sig token (I ended up with two in my collection, now there are two in this cache), and niraD sig token, SL. TFTC!

To Breathe Lazily

By: UncleTom Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

I figured out the theme fairly quickly. At that point, finding the necessary reference and solving the puzzle was straightforward. As expected, it was easy to find the container since it was in the usual location. I still don't get the encrypted puzzle hint. I went to the fake coordinates, and I don't understand their significance either. Oh well...

I replaced the perforated ziplock. TN, L seashells and niraD sig token, SL. TFTC!

Waiting for Christa

By: Capt Tong & the Jungle Mock Rangers Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

This was a quick drive-by after finding a nearby puzzle cache. I found the lid first, and then found the container lying open on the ground nearby. The lid is broken and no longer attaches securely to the container. T steel penny, L Canadian penny, seashells, and niraD sig token, SL. I replaced the perforated ziplock, and put the container in a slightly different spot from where I found the lid. It should be a bit less obvious there, and hopefully the lid will stay in place. TFTC!

There Was a Farmer Had a Dog...

By: calipidder Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

I enjoy the more difficult Sudoku puzzles, and the logic of this one was tame by comparison. But for some reason, the bookkeeping was harder for me: my first three attempts, I ended up with multiple squares that had every possible number crossed off. Oops. Anyway, I've had the coordinates for this one for a while, but just now came by to pick up the cache. I don't think I'll get around to finding all the other April GBA contest entries by the end of the month. T Rogue Ramblers sig token, L seashells and niraD sig token, SL. TFTC!

Burton Park Revisited

By: Rogue Ramblers Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

As I drove up, I was a bit concerned that the nearby construction had compromised the cache, but it turned out to be perfectly safe. While searching, I picked up a bag of trash and found a lost baseball. Then I read the first hint, which didn't help. So I searched some more while picking up another bag of trash and finding another lost baseball. Then I read the second hint.

After figuring out the meaning of the hints, I eventu ally found the cache. And I realized that I had had the container in my hand during my earlier searching. Sigh...

I left my sig token for this cache in the next cache I found, since there was no room for it in this nano cache. T NLNSL, TFTC!

This find took much longer than it should have because I kept trying to turn this "quick and easily accessible" 2/1 hide into an "obvious and predictable" 1/1 hide, even though the 1/1 location was about 30' from my zero. Pacific Shores Point

By: digitalfish Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

Gustine's Sister Cache

By: TeamJiffy Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

Caches are much easier to find when you search the correct location. [:D] I had already checked the hints from last night's search (on the wrong side of the park--oops), but I would have needed the first hint anyway. I probably would have needed the second hint, too. A muggle couple showed up just as I was ready to return the cache contents to the container, so I picked up litter until they left. TN, L seashells and niraD sig token, SL. TFTC!

Arguello Park

Cedar Street Park

By: Rogue Ramblers Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

Gustine's Sister Cache

By: TeamJiffy Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

This was a bad night for my GPSr-less geocaching. First, I misremembered the satellite photo landmarks for Arguello Park, and then I did it again with this cache (rotating everything 180 and searching exactly the wrong side of the park). I'll be back.

Arguello Park

By: NavySparks Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Regular

I misremembered the landmarks on the satellite photos, and ended up searching the wrong area. I really do need to get a GPSr one of these days. But I don't mind, because I forgot to drop a TB when I found the other cache in this park, so I "need" to come back to this park (and its TB-sized caches) anyway. And this is a wonderful park to hike through. Nope, I won't mind coming back here at all.

A Walk In The Park

I forgot to drop a TB while I was here though. Oh well, I'll just have to come back to this park and its TB-sized caches! TN, L seashell and niraD sig token (no more niradw sig tokens!), SL. TFTC!

Whisman Station

By: Stacy & Jerry; Adopted by cachbefound Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

The ziplock bag was torn, so I replaced it. The log and replacement log are almost full, and will need to be replaced soon. T beetle, L seashell and niradw sig tokens for this cache and for the previous cache I found (a nano cache without room for sig tokens), SL. Hetch Hetchy Trail - Countdown

My wife and I drove down to Salinas for Mother's Day, and went for a walk around the downtown area with my mom after dinner. An ode its owner wrote
To a silly 60s TV show
and a badly damaged boat (a badly damaged boat)

I pedaled down the creekside trail
And reached the Minnow's spot
I picked up lots of litter there
The container I found not (container I found not)

The sun had set, I had to go
I'd log a frownie face
But then I took one final guess
And found the hiding place (and found the hiding place)

I took a nickle, signed the log
I left a small seashell
Ten Euro cents and a sig token
And then I said "farewell" (and then I said "farewell")

I packed my stuff, switched on my lig hts
And pedaled down the road
My caching spree had ended here
Here at Gilligan's Ode!

No Trump Bidding Quiz

By: UncleTom Difficulty: 4.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

I solved this sometime last week. I stared at it online for a while, and finally decided to print it out so I could work on it on Caltrain. The next morning, on my way to work, I figured it out right away. So I worked on some other puzzles until we reached my station... As I approached the cache location this morning, I thought it was going to be a boring hide, but I was wrong. The old cache name was still on the log, so I updated it. Wow... I can't believe how long it took me to get the correct coordinates for this cache. My confusion started with a Graffiti error on my Palm and an arithmetic error. While struggling with the implausible results these errors gave me, I decided that answer D refered to the wrong kind of "driving", which put me in the front yard of a private residence once I fixed my other errors.
