Quest for the Masks

By: Eagle81 Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

Another quick find before work, and a pleasant stroll through the baylands. The camera is out of film. There was no "You found it!" page, so I left one. T Kindergarten Teacher sig item, L seashell and sig token, SL. TFTC, and thanks for the series!

Quest for the Masks: Onu-Wahi

By: Eagle81 Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Micro

Wow... it was a lot wetter out there than it looked. This was a quick find before work. There was no "You found it!" sheet, so I left one. The log is almost full, too, so geocachers can use the log space on the "You found it!" sheet. T "RR" FIMO token, L seashell and sig token, SL. TFTC!

Quest for the Masks: Ko-Wahi

By: Eagle81 Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

A quick find before work, and my 6th "Quest for the Masks" find. Now I have the clues I need for the 7th. There was no "You found it!" page, so I left one with the log. T blue frog, L cross necklace & sig token, SL. TFTC!

Evil Empire

By: Stiv Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Regular

This was supposed to be a quick find after work, but just as I was getting ready to return the ziplock bag to the camouflage container, a security truck drove up and parked on the other side of the car next to mine. The guard and another person started working on the car next to mine. I waited as long as I could, but I had to leave before they finished working on the car. So I drove off with the ziplock bag and cache contents... Which is just as well, I suppose. The seal was trashed on the ziplock bag, and the "You found it!" page was a mess. (Page protectors don't keep out the water.) Since I had had everything with me anyway, I let the cache contents dry out, replaced the "You found it!" page, and put everything in new ziplock freezer bags. Later that night I returned it to the camouflage container.

T cross necklace, L shell, clip key chain, sig token, pen, SL. TFTC!

Quest for the Masks: Ta-Wahi

By: Eagle81 Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

A quick find before work, right where I thought it would be. There was no "You found it" sheet, so I left one with the log book. T spider, L seashell and sig token, SL. TFTC!

Quest for the Masks: Po-Wahi

By: Eagle81 Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

I was afraid this was going to be a smaller container, and more of a needle-in-a-haystack search. But it was a quick find after work. There was no "You found it" sheet, so I left one with the log. T ant, L shell and sig token, SL. TFTC!

Shorebird Sudoku

By: ShoresScout Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

I solved the puzzle last weekend. It had been a while since I had solved a Sudoku puzzle on paper. This was a quick find after work. T Asian coin (with "10" on it), L Mexican $100 coin and sig token, SL. TFTC!

I Like Mine Animal-style!

By: gumbyandeddy Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

A quick lunchtime find. I ate mine (with pickles and grilled onions) on the little bit of lawn while signing the log. There was no "You found it!" sheet, so I left one. T spider, L caterpillar and sig tokens (one for this cache and one for the previous cache I found, which was a nano cache with no room for sig tokens), SL. TFTC!

Mainline weaving operations

By: trode Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

I worked out the final coordinates a few weeks ago, but didn't get around to searching for the container until now. FWIW, I visited waypoint 1 at night and was able to get E and F, albeit with some difficulty. I left my sig token for this nano cache at the next cache I found, since there wasn't room for it here. (Why a nano cache here?) TNLNSL, TFTC!

As far as we could go!

By: Marky & Joani Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

I was heading towards another cache and ran into a trail so flooded that I dare not attempt to cross, especially without gortex boots. I found a cache in the only spot available. It was a nice place to bring a bag lunch and relax. [;)] TN, L sig tokens (one for this cache and one for the previous cache I found, since it was a nano cache with no room for a sig token), LN. TFTC!

Traffic Patterns

By: bullit Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

Wow! I was the third to sign the log--the closest I've gotten to FTF so far! It was rather windy as I sat on the hill eating my lunch and looking for the cache. This sculpture offers so many possibilities for an upgraded container, although it is clear that some of its original features have been vandalized. I left my sig token for this nano cache at the next cache I found. TNLNSL, TFTC!

Almost Natural

By: Rocket Girl and DuckeyLee Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Small

Stopped by again on the way back from another cache, and noticed the container was looking rather exposed. I did what I could to help with what was available.

Eagle Park

By: DavidT21 & Fisherwoman Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

I had noticed the logs saying this cache might be missing, so I dropped by when I was in the area. It wasn't where I had found it, or in any of the related spots where might have been replaced by a careless geocacher. It looks like it's gone. [:(]

Cherry, Cherry pie. ohooo oohh oohhhh

By: bodster Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

A quick find before taking the train home. I correctly guessed where it would be as I approached the cache coordinates. There was no "Please Read" sheet, so I left one. T caterpillar, L purple fish and sig token, SL. TFTC!

West Hillsdale Park

By: vaccine Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Small

What a beautiful park hidden in this neighborhood! I had the place to myself, at least until I was ready to put the container back. I hate it when that happens... T yo-yo and centipede, L electronic sound-effects keychain (with fresh batteries), a school of three digitalfish (#1736, #2240, and #2907, released to celebrate finding GCJG8G, which is owned by digitalfish), and sig tokens (one for this cache and one for GCJG8G, which was a nano cache without enough room for sig tokens--or the school of digitalfish), SL. TFTC!

Big Worm-Gear Needed

By: digitalfish Difficulty: 4.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Not chosen

I couldn't make this my 50th find, so I made it my 75th find instead. I did get an emailed hint from digitalfish, pointing me to the correct end of the bridge. I had been searching the whole bridge, but was focusing on the wrong end. (FWIW, the coordinates posted by catomcat were spot on for me.) Actually finding this cache was rather anticlimactic. I had searched for hours when it wasn't there to be found, building a mental image of an incredibly devious hide, more devious than any of the unused hide locations I had discovered. The actual location could never live up to that.

I left my s ig token for this cache in the next cache I found, since there was no room for it in this nano cache. I also released my school of digitalfish there in celebration of this find. TNLNSL, TFTC!

Quest for the Masks: Le-Wahi

By: Eagle81 Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

I started the morning with this very nice hide. Good job! I left my sig token for this cache in the next cache I found, since there wasn't room for it in this nano cache. TNLNSL, TFTC!

Levee Stroll

By: mjp303 Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

This cache was a challenge at night without a GPSr. But I really enjoyed the walk back to my car in the moonlight. Note that the container is not waterproof. There wasn't any standing water, but the inside was wet, and so were some of the contents. I dried it out as best I could with what I had. T GeoWomyn_SF_CA sig postoid #87, L lizard and sig token, SL. TFTC!

Quest for the Masks: Ga-Wahi

By: Eagle81 Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Small

By: mjp303 Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

Google Falls

By: MadDad (maintained by bullit) Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

I'll be back here in May, but I'll be surrounded by thousands of people. Today, the rain kept the muggles away. This was a quick find before work. T green beetle, L smiling sun charm, sig tokens (one for this cache and one for the previous cache I found, since it was a nano cache without enough room for a sig token), SL. C.H.U.D.

By: Mohetka Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Micro

The location is not at all interesting, but the hide was interesting. I found the pen first, then the container. There was no room for my sig token in this nano cache, so I left it in the next cache I found. TNLNSL, TFTC!

Hey Bubb!

By: pao_flyer Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

The micro container's contents were wet, so I dried them in the sun and left them in a plastic bag to help keep them dry. I wasn't sure I would be able to interpret the clue for the ammo box's location, but then I figured out how to use my Palm computer to do it. I walked right past the ammo box a couple times before I found it though. Nice job! T Mexican $100 coin (I'm rich! I'm rich!), L small pinball game, Stanford Blood Center pencil, sig token, SL. TFTC!

Shopping for a cache

By: Rocket Girl and Duckeylee Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

A quick find this morning. The inside of the container was wet, but the plastic bag kept the log dry. I dried out the container, and trimmed the camouflage tape that was getting caught between the lid and the container. Hopefully that will help. T orange fish, L wheel & sig token, SL. TFTC!

Cooper Duper

By: MadDad (maintained by bullit) Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Regular

I almost started to expand my search radius, but then I reread the description (especially the difficulty rating) and decided to search more carefully. Very nice camouflage! The bag for the log and "Please Read" sheet was trashed, so I replaced it. T smiling sun charm, L wheel, green ball, sig token, SL. TFTC!

Spirit Trap

By: WalruZ Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

A quick find after work. Much of the labyrinth was flooded from the recent storm, and I needed to get home anyway, so I didn't linger. T k5incali's GBA chip, L USA Olympics '06 pin and sig tokens (one for this cache, plus two for the previous cache I found and the cache before that, since they were nano caches with no room for sig tokens), SL. Catapult!

By: Sierra Hikers Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

This was a quick find before work, and an interesting sculpture to examine while searching. The log has been torn in half, which makes it even harder to get back into the container. I put my sig token for this cache in the next cache I found, since there wasn't enough room for it in this nano cache. TNLNSL. By: triangulated Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

Another quick find on the way to work. I put the container back where I found it, but the location does not match the encrypted hint. Also, there was no "Please Read" notice, so I left one in the ziplock bag with the log. It's good to see people placing caches larger than micros around here! Ling The Lang/Buzzcocks II

By: MotorBug Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

This was my first blinker find, but I had a pretty good idea where to look as I approached the sculptures. I was right and this was a quick find, but I can see how they could be used for Truly Evil Purposes ?. I left the sig token for this nano cache in the next cache I found because there was no room for it here. TNLNSL, TFTC!

The coordinates posted by mraymondus work better for me, too. The original coordinates point somewhere with a much higher terrain rating. :-) This was a quick find, once I figured out how to reach the correct location. The nearby roads are confusing, and parking was a challenge. But otherwise it's a great location!

Oh, well... T snake, L music pin and sig tokens (one for this cache, and one for the previous cache I found, since it was a nano cache with no room for a sig token). Shark Fin Slough

By: The Owl and The Pussycat Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Small

A quick find on the way home from work. My guess is that the "shark fins" are supposed to be sails, but who knows. The container seems more the size of other small caches I've found, rather than the size of other regular caches I've found. And there was no travel bug. T music pin, L bracelet and sig token, SL. Big Worm-Gear Needed

By: digitalfish Difficulty: 4.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Not chosen

After rereading all the logs yet again and bouncing some thoughts off Lynn (of digitalfish) to make sure I wasn't too far astray, I spent another half hour searching between rain showers this morning. No joy. I've found several devious places to hide micro (or larger) caches on and around this bridge, but not the one used for this cache.

Sci-Fi & Fantasy Book Cache

By: artadams & belrose (adopted by Streetwalker1) Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

After finding GCK3Q8, I stopped by the first stage of this one to get the business name. Nothing seemed very appropriate, and now I know why. I should have updated my copy of the cache description before setting out...

Crossing Adobe

By: techie Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

I used to commute across this bridge every day. I found the wrong ABCD, kept looking until I found the right ABCD, then found the container without doing the math. I did do the math at home before logging the find on gc.com. TN, L sig token, SL. TFTC!

Rengstorff Park # 2.5

By: MotorBug Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

I dropped by this morning before work. I was the first to sign the replacement log. The fallen bottle-brush trees are gone, and the cache was a quick find. Knowing that I wouldn't be able to see the container narrowed my search tremendously. Then I had to search for a dry bench to sit on while I logged my visit. :-) TN, L music pin and sig token, SL.
