PROFESSOR COLDHEART

By: CNDGIRL1 Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Small

Checked several under the needles at the base of several trees, but didn't find it. 7pm on a very pleasant summer evening is not the time to be searching. I felt like I was in a fishbowl with all of those apartment windows. Thanks for introducing me to a new park though.

EMERGENCY LANDING

By: CNDGIRL1 Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Small

Didn't get the hint, and couldn't really see the airport from anywhere close to GZ. Lots more bushes and grass tromped down than 1 prior DNF would indicate. I think the neighbors across the street thought I was trying to break into that RV parked above the cache. I didn't hang around to find out if they had called the cops.

New vaccine cache...same result. Thanks for the frustration!

No luck, but the kids enjoyed the playground.

I have a feeling the psychic knows something about this cache!

A Claustrophobic's Nightmare/Just Say NO to Crack

By: Snoogans, MtnFrog & Camel Difficulty: 5.0 Terrain: 5.0 Container: Not chosen

Being solo, I figured I didn't have too much of a chance. After searching for 15 minutes or so, I climbed up and attempted a lifeline, but no dice. The real gift was the location though, so thank you a million times over for marking the spot. Fantastic. mjp303

Numbers Everywhere

By: ItsGForMe Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

I was able to follow the clues to the final easily even though my coordinates were consistently 30 feet west. The same was true at the final, but I knew that wasn't possible. After spending a long time looking at the likely location, I was forced to conclude that it's either a very tricky hide or not there. How about an owner visit? Thanks!

OJ! #1

No luck for me, but I see that the hint has been updated since I looked at the cache page...perhaps that will help me on my next visit. mjp303

Belmont Library

By: kanchan Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

No luck, although I didn't really have enough time for a proper search. I noticed a couple of popped sprinkler heads laying about: people (not brave enough to log a DNF evidently) have probably taken them apart looking for the cache and then not put them back together correctly. The water comes on in the night and the pressure springs them off. [B)]Gardners love this I'm sure. [V]

No Luck. I ran my fingertips over lots of snail shells though.

Amber's Golden Cache

By: gregreyj Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Small

No luck for me. The arrow was a bit bouncy, and is often the case, only along one coordinate axis. Mine put me on a line parallel to the trail about 10' up, so the hint wasn't useful. There were many potential hiding places and I stumbled around on the loose rocks and slippery grass until I noticed some bare PO branches. That was my wake-up call and I decided to call it quits. As advertised, the south facing view on the way back to the car was fantastic. mjp303

Ergot's Landing

By: ganurse Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

A pleasant afternoon to enjoy ganurse caches. Stage one was a breeze even though there was a dad watching his boys nearby. WATCH OUT for the black widow hidden in a common hiding place very near to the actual cache. Stage two was a bit trickier, but only because there were many people passing by. Stage three was impossible due to a person who arrived shortly before us and was engaged in an activity that potentially could have lasted for hours. We know where to go, and hopefully it will be quick find when the coast is clear. TFTMC. mjp303

Meeting of the Mines

By: TeamAlamo Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

Out with MotorBug to put a few ups and downs on his new Jeep, this was our next stop along an enjoyably long and winding road. The owner came out and wanted to know if we were carpenters. He seemed disappointed when we told him we were only cachers: "That film can? Oh, yeah, I saw it in the bushes about a month ago." Alas, it was not to be.

Edgar Allan Poe: The Haunted Palace

By: Sierra Hikers Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular

After playing down by the stream for awhile, our interest in following the GPSr around in circles off trail while puzzling over a non-specific hint had worn thin. I probably would have persisted, but the chorus of 'Let's just go, Dad' was quite distracting. Given ours (and others) difficulties with the heavy tree cover, I suggest you update your hints to make them very specific. Thanks though for getting us out on a beautiful trail! Unfinished business will certainly bring us back another day. mjp303

Stonewalled!

By: robotman Difficulty: 4.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

I think I have officially ruined stage 3 for anyone else. After spending way too much time there, I finally attracted the attention of a rent-a-cop who told me to get lost and take my game with me (...he was more polite about it, and used a lot more words, but you get the drift...)

Stonewalled!

By: robotman Difficulty: 4.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

Whew! vaccine got off easy. [;)] I stopped by after work expecting to make quick work of this cache, but ended up running out of time before finding stage 3. I loved walking along the new trail, but the stage 2 3 locations made me a bit uneasy since there really are no legitimate reasons to linger. I half expected security to catch me in the act of searching, especially since several people leaving work were giving me curious glances. In any case, I'll be back to finish this cache off some other time. Thanks for the challenge! mjp303

Whimsical Wonders (HMB)

By: GeoWomyn_SF_CA Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

8:26a #2 of 25 on a solo coastside blitz. Quite a contrast from my experience at 'Chameleon Horse': This one was like watching paint dry. So, there was a fellow in his truck smoking. I sit there in my car patiently waiting while he lights 3 of the cancer sticks one right after the other. Since he wasn't leaving I decided I would stroll over to the cache and try to use the bush as cover. Drat, it's too short; and now the guy is curious about what I'm doing. In short, I spotted the cache, but decided not to draw my animal. As I left, the guy was lighting another smoke. Amazing. I'll have to come back another day. mjp303
