FINAL ACTIVITIES 2009

By: SPHERICAL FULLERENES Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Large

Lots of strange goings on at this event. Everyone phoning a number they found in the bathroom, studying pictures on laptops, all leaving the party room together, and then returning with big grins on their faces. 'Final Activities'?!? It's got to be a code for something else, right? Thanks for the fun! mjp303

5th annual GBES Geocaching & Navigational Rally

By: GBESGeocachers Difficulty: 4.0 Terrain: 4.0 Container: Not chosen

[8D] What a fanstastic event! [8D] The course was beautiful, and I loved varied terrain we travelled through. The event was well organized, and everything ran like clock-work! The t-shirts, pictures and lunch were very nice touches as well. This was our 4th rally and it's always been a memorable experience, getting better every year. I loved the twist of the challenge caches. Definitely some evil hides that made us work! Not only did you have to get to them, but you had to find the cache too. Not a given by any means. Dinner was great. The coin was up to the usual high standards. So many details to take care of, and all executed really well by the GBES group! Thanks for hosting one of my favorite geocaching adventures! mjp303

Friday Night Meet & Greet

By: RCGDS & NUTS Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Not chosen

I rolled up with bthomas and airsax, and quickly reconnected with many GBA cachers, both old and new. It was great to mingle with cachers from many other places as well! Picked up a lanyard, pin, t-shirt, coin (COOL! [8D]), and signed a bunch of bingo cards (either 'completed a challenge cache': SMILIE or 'gotten a vehicle stuck while caching': [:I]). Stuck around until they started taking the tables down, and then moved on to a little night caching! What well organized event! Thanks. mjp303

A big THANK YOU to everyone who planned, organized, and executed a fantastic rally! Your incredible effort so that all of us could have a great time exploring in, above, and around Virginia City was very much appreciated: It's our third rally and we're planning to return for more! What an incredible bit of good luck on the jacket raffle, too. Thanks for the great memories. mjp303

Peninsula UnEvent Event

By: vaccine & mjp303 Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Not chosen

For awhile I couldn't decided whether or not to log this event. In the end it just didn't seem right that there was going to be no record of my involvement. Beautiful weather, a fun little stretch of group caching, and a chance to socialize: I had a really great time! Geocachers really are a great bunch of people. vaccine, hanks for all the good times! mjp303

By: jellis50+friends Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Not chosen

GBES 2nd Annual Navigational Cache Rally

By: GBES GeoCachers Difficulty: 3.5 Terrain: 3.5 Container: Not chosen

We had a great time, and, for a couple of city slickers, handled ourselves pretty well, thank you very much. Through the race our emotions ran the gamut from anticipation (before the race), exhileration (both day and night multi caches), extreme frustration (I don't know exactly where we were, but it was about 1:30 in the morning), and a fantastic sense of accomplishment (when it was all over). Thanks for all the hard work putting the rally together! Winning a white jeep in the raffle was icing on the cake. This rally really exemplified what I love about geocaching: the opportunity to explore places you'd never visit otherwise, and learn more about yourself in the process. mjp303
