Northampton Old & New

By: The Allotment Gardener Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

Mike enjoyed doing all the leg work for this a while ago. GZ proved to be quite muggly, so hard to hunt properly. Mike and Jess both tried a couple of times though! Jess eventually found the cache today while she was placing a couple of caches locally. A great multi, thanks. [:D]

Thanks also to the squirrel who served as a patient and useful diversion as a photography subject while Jess waited for muggles to move on.

Alphanumeric Northants - R

By: The Allotment Gardener Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Regular

We thought a quick multi on this chilly Sunday afternoon might just be the ticket and it certainly was. Thank you for the little walk and the nice views. Each stage nice and easy, cache was easy to find too. TFTC [:D]

Alphanumeric Northants - Q

By: The Allotment Gardener Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

Wow, that's a grave and a half! We got the coordinates, said a quick thank you to Eleanor MacCallum, and enjoyed the quick walk to the cache. Mike found the hiding place to be very thorny while Jess stood back on muggle-watch. TFTC [:D]

[:D][:D] 1000th find [:D][:D] Well we wanted a cache to celebrate our 1000th find in style and this one certainly did the trick!

A great cache, we loved the twist. What a lot of time we have spent in this tunnel today [:D]

Thanks for the excellent cache. Add one of our favourite points to your pile!

Found in the dark... eventually [|)] no torches, doh! Glad we did though, a nice little walk and picked up a TB to take to Wales.

Northampton Central Library

By: doyboyz Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Regular

A well deserved favourite point for this unusual cache. We liked the look of this whwen we saw it and guessed what the final cache would be - a great idea. A while ago we collected the information needed but could not complete the cache. We left it, then, for a milestone and today was the 800th SMILIE A fab cache in a great location (could have stayed and browsed for too long!). TFTC [:D]

A nice walk on a sunny Sunday afternoon. Didn't have all the info, but, as previous logs said, the final place was obvious. TFTC [:D]

FD's Trail - Danger Overhead and Below!

By: Flamedodger Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 4.5 Container: Micro

This one was one of the longest - lots of to-ing and fro-ing until I found the right place. Enjoyed a little Dirty Dancing moment. Would advise future cachers to take some tweezers. [;)] Woohoo! What a fab trail. Got up really, really early to do the whole run in one morning and boy was it tough... but fun [8D] Nearly PAFed on a couple of occasions but resisted the temptation and stuck at it. Loved the 'highs' and the 'lows' of the trail. I think I'm dizzy [;)]
Thanks for an amazi ng series of caches [:D]

Let's Surf

By: bluestrike808 Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Micro

Definitely a five star difficulty for us but a favourite nonetheless for the fact that we had to dive! We both sustained injuries from this one today. Jess cut her fingers rubbing the algae off stage one and Mike cut both his fingers and toes on the cable [:(]. We looked for a while using the only equipment we owned - a pair of child's goggles!- before returning with a mask and snorkel. We also found this hard because it was a rough high tide which meant the waters were fast moving and murky. We couldn't give up on this one though! We looked in the wrong place, too, as the thing in the hint was obviously in a different place! Once we looked west instead of east, however, we spotted what we needed to dive for. Cue much excitement! [:D] There was no obvious access to stage two but that wasn't going to stop two determined geocachers on vacation. We ignored the private property signs and both the security guard's and the sunbathers' desire to move us on. A good search of the area and a wise avoidance of the pretty crabs later and we had a cache to finally, and proudly, sign.
Thanks for this cache, it will be one we will never forget!

A footpath to nowhere ?

By: terita Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Small

What a bizarre pootpath! Getting to it was quite dangerous as the trees on the roundabout are overgrown - I wouldn't recommend it for children. Cache was nice and straightforward to find though. TNLNSL TFTC SMILIE

Messeing about near the water

By: TAG & Messe Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Not chosen

We had a 300th to celebrate and what better way! We had to PAF TAG at the second stage who directed us onwards. We were completely baffled by the next stage but 'swallow'ed our pride and went on to find the next stage. At GZ we had to 'duck' down to enter and it all became clear.

We laughed but I'm sure TAG laughed more when I told him I had to use my big toe for this one.

Brilliant (and inspiring, watch this space) cache. Thanks! [:D]
