Church Micro 1658 - St Mary's, Grafton Regis.

By: Wavvy Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Other

We've been here before but took the clue far too literally, taking too much interest in the Blunt family buried nearby. We also circled the church again and again, getting coords confused and searching (we thought) every available spot... Today I walked straight to it, found in seconds and didn't even need the item in the clue. Typical! I signed with my fountain pen as I didn't have a biro so I hope the ink didn't smudge when rolling the log back up again. TFTC [:D]

Just Northamptonshire #008

By: The Allotment Gardener Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

Popped out after work. Road (lane!) was busy and a couple of lads raised an eyebrow or two as they spotted me swinging a leg over the fence. Quick find as usual. Great series! TFTC [:D]

A Puzzling Purpose

By: brew-a-cache Difficulty: 3.5 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Micro

Tee hee We'd been meaning to do this for a while and wondered how we were going to make friends with someone who owns a cherry picker. In the end we gathered all sorts of bits and bobs from the garden shed and created a monstrously wonderous cache retrieval tool that did the job. Jess had a try and got the cache to the edge. Mike took over and the cache dropped... to the next rung down [}:)]. A swift nudge and wriggle and the cache was in our hands. Great hide, and one that won't haunt us any more! TFTC [:D]

By: scubwalker Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

was out caching with Gridfins who found it easily, finding Lumpy was harder though! TFTC

Giant V

By: The Allotment Gardener Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Not chosen

Found this neat hide when out placing caches and was judging proximity. Turned out I needn't have worried as my cache was refused anyway as there was another, unpublished, cache nearby. Loved how this one had me scratching my head. Actually scratching my head. In public. Great hide, TFTC [:D]

Riverside. No troll.

By: XBOXCrew Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Small

With the D/T rating I had scrambled down the bank and was about to take off my trainers and socks as I had spotted a suspicious looking pile of stones under the bridge. Good job I decided to double check the coords! TFTC [:D]

Dare you?

By: XBOXCrew Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Small

Entered the field before this one and looked at the droppings to work out the livestock rating. Too small for cows or horses, too big for sheep... what on earth? Was then chased by a very quick and large sheep. I guess it was a sheep field then! Cripes I had to run fast! Cache field was safe, thankfu lly. TFTC [:D]

Stony Stratford - take a seat!

By: WavendonWilliams Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Not chosen

Popped into the Outdoor Shop after work to see their range of GPS devices. Lo and behold, they have a cache printout hanging up in their shop - "Stony Straftford - take a seat"! Well it would be rude not to go for it! TFTC [:D]

Gorrick's Spring, Calverton.

By: wavvy Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 4.0 Container: Small

Took the wrong steps. Tut tut. I bet this spring used ot be a real beauty spot, so secluded. Quick find, TFTC [:D]

Church Micro 805... Calverton

By: Wavvy Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Other

This was a high difficulty today, as I think there had been a recent burial and many people were arriving in drips and drabs to linger and pay their respects. I nearly left it but instead was very polite and waited until they had all left. Felt very odd. TFTC

Overhere, Down There

By: T A G Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Other

Oh rain, rain, rain. It can be a great asset to caching, can't it, when you are hoping noone is paying you any attention. But when you are soaked to the skin, rain is streaming down your face and your toes are squelching puddles up out of the top of your trainers one may say enough is enough. Especially when you realise as the rain begins to ease off.. that you had a brolly in your bag all along. This cache took ages as I had more rain in my eyes than braincells in my brain but got it in the end. Needed to find a spiky extraction tool to get to it.

Overhere, Behind

Overhere, But Only A Quarter!

By: T A G Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Other

Oh dear. I found the source of the noise. There is a track next to the canal that bikes and quads are blaring their way around. I tried to hold a phone conversation whilst at this cache but had to hang up because it was so loud [:(]. Boat people were chugging past and weren't happy either. To round it all off, as I walked past the entrance to their field a couple of vans loaded up with bikes and their riders left to make their way home and waved farewell to me. With one finger. How pleasant. TFTC anyway. I hope future cachers have nicer experiences!

Overhere, But No Fishing!

By: T A G Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Other

Cache was very tightly wedged in place but came free. There is an awful racket going on nearby (motorbikes?). I feel sorry for the locals - beautiful spot.

That's funny, Jess has been meaning to stop off by this one for a while and the cache was exactly the type of cache she was expecting... but this is a replacement? Hmm. I wonder what the last one was? Nice to be FTF the new one SMILIE, and a nice fresh log to sign.

Brackmills Country Park - A Different Style?

By: JaandJa Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Micro

A long, long time ago, well - six months ago anyway - mikenjess went out for a walk to see if they could hunt out their 4th cache. They came to A Different Style full of hope and confidence. Alas! They searched in the wrong place. Convinced it was in a prickly place, they concentrated their search there. They had read the previous logs for clues, you see, which was their downfall. They were yet to develop their cacher's instinct. Defeated, they plodded on around Brackmills country park and luckily went on to find a few more caches. It was because of this little jaunt that their Geospirit was ignited and they knew then that this Geocaching lark was to take over their spare time. Today they returned to A Different Style to see out their 704th cache and walked straight to it. Practice makes perfect. The End TFTC [:D]
