Let's Surf

By: bluestrike808 Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Micro

Definitely a five star difficulty for us but a favourite nonetheless for the fact that we had to dive! We both sustained injuries from this one today. Jess cut her fingers rubbing the algae off stage one and Mike cut both his fingers and toes on the cable [:(]. We looked for a while using the only equipment we owned - a pair of child's goggles!- before returning with a mask and snorkel. We also found this hard because it was a rough high tide which meant the waters were fast moving and murky. We couldn't give up on this one though! We looked in the wrong place, too, as the thing in the hint was obviously in a different place! Once we looked west instead of east, however, we spotted what we needed to dive for. Cue much excitement! [:D] There was no obvious access to stage two but that wasn't going to stop two determined geocachers on vacation. We ignored the private property signs and both the security guard's and the sunbathers' desire to move us on. A good search of the area and a wise avoidance of the pretty crabs later and we had a cache to finally, and proudly, sign.
Thanks for this cache, it will be one we will never forget!

We were still on a high from swimming with sharks but couldn't resist looking for this one. A good deal of searching was required before we found the right one, GZ was overlooked by a man in a booth and a restaurant of diners. TFTC [:D]

Train Tracks To Nowhere

By: Kailua Al and ancognito Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

We were watched by a man lying under a nearby tree. In the rain. Most bizarre! He didn't see what we were up to though, so the cache is safe. Mike was quick at finding this one. Jess would have been here for days! TFTC [:D]

Thirteen Tiered Pagoda

By: The Wizzzard Rincewind and Twoflower Difficulty: 4.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

By: cloco Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

Was hoping to find the TBs listed in the cache inventory. Upon finding the cache however we realised there was no way any TBs had ever been squeezed into that size! Inventory must be wrong. Easy find, quick cache. Thanks! [:D]

By: Off-Roader Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Small

Inventory said five trackables were inside. There were actually no trackables inside. Crikey some people are so greedy. I mean, I was only going to take four of them myself [;)] Left Moonraker TB brought over from the UK. Lovely place to leave him. TFTC SMILIE

HNL Zoo

By: GeoGerms Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

Easy find followed by a horrendously difficult replace due to sudden muggle crowd, an eagle-eyed security guard and a very very, um, 'assertive' parking attendant lady! Signed and replaced nonetheless. TFTC [:D]

Geckos in Paradise - Kamuela Anakala

By: GeoGerms Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

Out for a walk and we stumbled across this little fellow completely by accident. We recognised his picture from a previous bit of cache browsing so, grinning, we had a quick search and found the cache. There was no lid on the cache and the log was very full. Happy to find this :) TFTC [:D]

S.F. Cable Car - California & Van Ness

By: Gumlung Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Other

We are staying at the Holiday Inn across the road so it would be rude no to cross the street to log this one [;)] The satellite photo on geocaching.com had the GZ in shadow so we thought it was going to be hard to pin down but luckily we went straight to it SMILIE It's not every day you hop off a wooden cable car and sign a cache log so this one is a bit special. We had a 300th to celebrate and what better way! We had to PAF TAG at the second stage who directed us onwards. We were completely baffled by the next stage but 'swallow'ed our pride and went on to find the next stage. At GZ we had to 'duck' down to enter and it all became clear.

We laughed but I'm sure TAG laughed more when I told him I had to use my big toe for this one.

Brilliant (and inspiring, watch this space) cache. Thanks! [:D]

I'm so sorry. I found your cache today but it has been trashed. A film canister wrapped in black tape was in the grass verge. It was empty and has been run over. I put it in a place in the tree for you with a stick to mark it. RIP #7!

Hooray! I have a Police story! I was walking back from signing the log when a car pulled up beside me. Strange, for a busy road, so I turned around and came face to face with two policemen. [:O]

Policeman #1: Are you alright?
Me: Yes thanks.
Policeman #2: Only, we saw you standing by the sign and it's an odd place to stand so. ..
Me: Oh
Policeman #2: What were you doing?
Me: It's fine, I was just snooping.
Policeman #1: Oh! O.K. Then. Bye!
Me: Bye! (quietly guffaws and commits the conversation to memory to tell everyone later)

Honestly?!
a) Why on earth did I think that "Snooping" was a reasonable explanation?
b) Why on earth did the Police agree that "Snooping" was a reasonable explanation?
