Top of the dune

By: Soquel1930 Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

We were back again to Sunset SB with our trailer for Memorial Day weekend. Kinda windy and overcast today. After failing with just the coordinates, I sat down and read the description and hint. Then I went straight for the cache and spotted it where the camo had tricked me before. Thanks! Edit: After hearing about the dead young gray whale at the campfire program (the victim of Orcas), Mrs. B and I hiked down the beach to see it. It has been there a few days, so stay upwind. There has been an attempt to bury it in the sand. Maybe they will try again this week. It seems to be right behind Monterey Bay Academy, at N 36 54.399 W 121 50.750.

Between This Oak And That Oak

By: Coe Caching Clan Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Micro

Found right where advertised. Thanks!

Troop 799's Rest Area

By: Troop 799 Hiking Guide Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Micro

This took a bit of wandering around and looking. My GPSr was not real steady under the canopy. Thanks!

Take a Breather

By: fishnguy & 10sgrl Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Small

I just had just come down the hill, and a breather suited me just fine. Thanks!

Fallen Giant

By: Geokashers and BuckingFirds Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Small

This was another slog across a field of waist high weeds. Fortunately, I made the find without battling too many more weeds. Thanks!

Jumping For Joy, My 150th Hide!

By: Geokashers Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 3.5 Container: Small

The area looks a bit different with waist-high weeds. I slogged on through and found the cache without too much difficulty. Thanks!

A Little Bay Along Gibson Trail

By: WERDAVE Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Small

The PO is trying to reclaim the trail, growing in from both sides of it. The little bay is surrounded by little PO plants, which I'm sure will eventually get bigger.

An Oak Clinger Along Hunting Hollow

By: WERDAVE Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Small

After I got off the Gibson trail, I had to go back a little way on Hunting Hollow road to get this one. Thanks!

Hang Tough Little Guy

By: Coe Kashers Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Micro

The morning was still a little hazy for a good picture, but it was a good morning to hike. Thanks!

This Cache Will Stump No Cachers

By: Troop 799 Cachers Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Micro

I hiked back and forth here between Hunting Hollow Road and the bike bypass picking up caches. Thanks!

I'm Lichen It!

By: Geokashers and BuckingFirds Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 3.5 Container: Small

The area certainly looks different than the picture on the cache page with tall weeds that have grown up. I used my hiking poles to part them and search for the cache. Thanks!

E - geokashErs

By: CKayaks Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Regular

I'll get around to the other end of this series one of these days. Today, my hike is plenty long enough just picking up "ers". Thanks!

Big Oak Along Lyman-Willson

By: WERDAVE Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Small

Another little breather on the way up the hill. Thanks!

A Stump Along the Trail

By: WERDAVE Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

I started hiking from Hunting Hollow at 7 am. This was the first stop, about 20 minutes later. Thanks!

Fallen Rafael

By: fencedevin Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Small

I was just about to have a look for the cache when I saw a hiker approaching, the first I had seen in 5 1/2 hours of hiking. We chatted a little, and he headed on up the trail. Thanks!

To boldly go...

By: alpharomero.com Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Small

I don't know how boldly, but I did wander over to this cache. Thanks!

My 100th Hide and I Stole it from Trail Reader!

By: Geokashers Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Small

This area could a few animals to beat down the weeds. Maybe a herd of goats. Thanks!

S - geokasherS

By: CKayaks Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Small

I made a note for this letter, one I had not seen before. Thanks!

Another Wagon Road Rest Stop

By: Geokashers Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Micro

I was coming down the hill, so I didn't need the rest stops that bad, but I didn't mind. Thanks!

Reason #7 to Visit Coe

By: Geokashers Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Micro

Maybe YOU can ride a bike here, but I would be pushing it up a lot of hills. I looked around the wrong hole, then expanded my search and found the cache. Thanks!

R - geokasheRs

By: CKayaks Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Small

I salute anyone who has done all the letter caches in one hike. If I ever get them all, it will be more like four hikes. Thanks!

Eroding Log

By: fishnguy & 10sgrl Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular

The hint assumes that I was traveling the other way on the trail, but no matter, this was an easy find. Thanks!

Branching Oak Near the Top, or is it?

By: WERDAVE Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Small

It was just before noon, so I decided to have my little bag of cashews here. I didn't look at the GPSr until I was done, so I was surprised that I was right next to the cache. Thanks!

Shaggy Tree

By: fishnguy & 10sgrl Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Small

I think this must be a shady resting spot for some animal, but no one was home today. Thanks!

Hollow Woody

By: Geokashers and BuckingFirds Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

There was just one likely spot, but I couldn't see anything there. Finally, I felt the area with my hand, and it came up with the cache. Thanks!

Rocks on the Hillside

By: WERDAVE Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Small

Well, I worked on my socks some to get out the foxtails, but what I really needed for this trip was gaiters. Thanks!

Oak That Just Won't Give Up

By: WERDAVE Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Small

Those oaks are tough. Thanks!

Coe Backcountry Stakeout

By: Geokashers and BuckingFirds Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Small

This is the second odd stake I spotted today. Thanks!

Resting in the Shade

By: Valoha Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Micro

I prefer having both good coordinates and a hint, and I still have trouble sometimes. I came across this one after a short search. Thanks!

Oak in the Dark

By: WERDAVE Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Small

So far, the cache finding didn't slow me down much. Thanks!

A View Of The Hunting (Hollow) Grounds

By: Geokashers Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Micro

I think I came at the height of the foxtail and thistle season. The thistles are annoying, but the foxtails try to stay with you and irritate you until you pull them out of your socks. Thanks!

Reason #6 to Visit Coe

By: AlphaRomero.com Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Not chosen

Well, I prowled around the buildings, then read the scary hantavirus notice. That got me moving down the trail. Thanks!

Barbed Wire Magic

By: Geokashers Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Small

I stood by the side of the road to let the ranger in his vehicle pass, then went after the cache. Yes, that is an amazing tree. Thanks!

Willson Camp View

By: alpharomero.com Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Regular

Well my round trip from Hunting Hollow ended up being eight hours, but I had to deal with a lot of caches. Thanks!

The Kache That Split The Rock

By: Krazy Koe Kashing Krew Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Micro

I got started at 7 am this morning from the Hunting Hollow entrance. It was still well before 8 am when I grabbed this one. Thanks!

Pineoakeo Tree

By: FourCacheteers Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Micro

After slogging through the tall weeds to get there, the coordinates brought me to a likely spot. I just stood there looking, and finally spotted what I was looking for. Thanks!

Cypress Hanger

By: Soquel1930 Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

The coordinates worked out great for me. This was our first visit of the season to Sunset, where Mrs. Bytemobile's sister and husband are camp hosts for the summer. I signed the fresh log. Thanks!

Sunset View II

By: TeamGatosLocos Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Small

Mrs. Bytemobile were at Sunset today, celebrating Mothers Day a day early with her family at the Campground Hosts site. I took a break and a little hike to pickup this one. Thanks!
