This Way to Woodcutter's Canyon

By: WERDAVE Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Small

This cache took me a little way past my trail junction, but it was early, and the legs weren't complaining yet. Thanks.

Not there yet, but past the worst!

By: WERDAVE Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Small

Great! The worst is yet to come. Thanks!

A Steer Ridge Monkey Oak?

By: WERDAVE Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Small

This one could have been a lot worse. I found the cache before trying to move one more level. Thanks!

Big Rock with a View

By: WERDAVE Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Regular

The view was a little hampered by the overcast, but it sure made for pleasant hiking. Thanks!

The Wild Turkey Trots Here

By: Geokashers Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular

A couple weeks ago in my car near here I was was following a herd of 20 or so turkeys that were running down the road. Today, I just heard some gobbles in the distance. Thanks!

R - alpharomeRo

By: CKayaks Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Small

I could see that the backpackers had gathered together for a break on the previous knoll, and I had plenty of lead. Thanks!

E - alpharomEro

By: CKayaks Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Small

It looked like there were some trail choices here, but I just went for the next cache in the series, and it all worked out OK. Thanks!

Even the Tree Branch is Resting!

By: WERDAVE Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Small

Well, I was headed down so I wasn't getting winded. The steepness of the trail made me glad for my hiking poles, though. Thanks!

Half the Tree Is Still Fine

By: WERDAVE Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Small

It is nice to have a hint, even for an easy find because that is how I remember caches when I am logging. Thanks!

Wilson Peak

By: King bullit Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Small

Might be a little confusing to have Wilson Peak near Willson Peak. Thanks!

O - alpharOmero

By: CKayaks Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Small

Another quick find. The lead backpackers were staying back with their group, so it wasn't that hard to stay ahead now. Thanks!

Don't let the Trail Get you Down

By: WERDAVE Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Regular

I was hoping the trail would get me down to my car. The ETA to my card was noon, and it seems to be holding. Thanks!

Windmills of Henry Coe

By: bullit Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular

I went a little past the trail fork I planned to take, but it was early and I had the whole day ahead of me. Thanks!

By: CKayaks Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Small

I found cache and headed back toward Hunting Hollow via Steer Ridge Road. A morning of hiking was fine for today. Thanks!

A Steer Ridge Oak with a View

By: WERDAVE Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Small

I was able to grab this one from a nearby rock without falling off. Thanks!

Trail Junction, An Easier Way to Steer Ridge?

By: WERDAVE Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Not chosen

The cyclists must take Donnelly. I met three of them up here this morning. Thanks!

By: CKayaks Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Small

Another quick find and I had a nice lead over the backpackers. Thanks!

Hollow Treehunting

By: FourCacheteers Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Small

This was my first visit to the Hunting Hollow entrance. It seems like the right time of year to hike Coe. Thanks!

M - alpharoMero

By: CKayaks Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Small

I was getting into a routine now, signing the log, noting the clue, re-hiding the cache, picking up my stuff, and pushing a few buttons on the GPSr as I started up the trail. Thanks!

R - alphaRomero

By: CKayaks Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Micro

I spotted this one quickly and moved along. Thanks!

A Shady Spot For a Stop

By: WERDAVE Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Micro

Another one that I missed on the first pass, then read the hint. Thanks!

Tree Arch, or "duck your head!"

By: WERDAVE Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Small

My last cache of the day, and a backpacker moving quietly up the trail probably wondered what I was doing off trail. Thanks!

L - aLpharomero

By: CKayaks Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Small

After I re-hid the cache, I heard voices and saw that the backbackers were indeed heading up the trail behind me. I didn't waste any time and hit the trail. Thanks!

A - Alpharomero

By: CKayaks Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Small

I passed a group of a dozen or so backbackers that were forming up on Hunting Hollow Road. I didn't know if they would be heading up Middle Steer. I found the cache quickly, noted the clue, and headed on up the trail. Thanks!

P - alPharomero

By: CKayaks Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Small

I found and signed the cache quickly to keep ahead of the backpackers. The phrase "old guy" floated up to me. I had a butt pack and hiking sticks to attack this steep terrain. They had young legs, but big packs. Thanks!

Just Another Hollow Stump along Steer Ridge

By: WERDAVE Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Small

I'm glad my GPSr beeped at me, or I would have had to backtrack a little. I didn't spot it on the first look, but I looked again after reading the hint. Thanks!

Creek Cross Cache

By: Geokashers Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular

Another nice ammo box. I imagine the creek might be a challenge to cross in a wet winter. Today there was no problem stepping across the rocks. Thanks!

A - alphAromero

By: CKayaks Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Small

Arrgh! This type of hide is hit or miss for me. I made a couple passes, then finally got the right angle on it to see it. I was sure the backpackers would catch me this time, but no. Thanks!

Almost to Willson Peak

By: WERDAVE Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Small

Well maybe some other day for Willson Peak. I came up Middle Steer, and was headed back down on Steer Ridge. Thanks!

By: FourCacheteers Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular
