The cache was in excellent shape, and there was a fair view from here today. It was a great day for hiking, with a bit of overcast. Thanks!

I had a look at a half-dozen potential hiding spots before finding the cache. There wasn't one that stood out for me. Thanks!

I recommend going straight for the hint to avoid searching around all the new bright green poison oak sprouting up along the trail. The cache site itself is clear.

My ground zero was about 35 feet from the cache, so didn't immediately spot it, but wasted some time beating the bushes. Later, I walked around looking at the benchmarks and easily spotted it.

The cache was in good shape in its excellent water proof container. I spotted it quickly, signed, and moved on up the trail. Thanks!

This was one DarkZen cache I didn't have to search for. It was the first thing I saw as I approached GZ. I read the hint as I was writing this log, and don't think it is current. I was planning to grab the other two caches down the trail, but my legs and knees were saying that it was time to turn around, so headed back to the Whitehouse Road trailhead. Thanks!

I had thought about turning around and heading home, but it was only 11 am, so I found the seldom used trail and found it didn't drop off too quickly, so I headed out here. Thanks!

There was quite a view from up here. It was a bit overcast, but it made for better hiking. Thanks!

I ended up pulling my magnetic compass out of my pack and it was a piece of cake after that. I started a five-hour hike here and didn't see a soul all day until just at the end I met a couple starting up the trail.

The little trail leading to the cache site is getting overgrown with poison oak. It is leaning in from both sides, and is clear across the path in spots. For the poison oak sensitive, I recommend skipping this one, or at least getting it on the way back so you can clean yourself and your clothes sooner. The coast was visible today, but not totally clear due to a marine layer.

The hint helped me out on this one. I think I would have missed it otherwise. The view was clear today, but I didn't hang around long. Thanks!

Good hint. I decided to make this one the last cache of the morning and head back to my vehicle on China Grade. The other will have to wait for another day. Thanks!

This was my first cache of the morning and the GPSr was a little confused, but I cycled power, calibrated the compass, and everything was good again. The cache definitely looked like it hadn't been touched in a few months. Thanks!

I used the hint and made a quick find. I made my first trip to Hawaii in January and received instruction at a luau on making the gesture. Thanks!

Without this cache, I probably would have wandered down the road and missed the trail. The paint job on the cache still looks great. Thanks!

This one took me a couple passes, but there were a limited number of places to look. The hint kept me from going too far wrong. Thanks!

Not much problem grabbing this one. A little way down the trail from here I encountered a skunk coming my way on the trail. We noticed each other about the same time, and he stopped and raised his tail, and I stopped. I backed up a few paces and he lowered his tail. We stared at each other a few minutes, and I pondered how I would get around him. Then he shuffled off the trail, and I slowly advanced down the trail.

I took a bike ride around Saratoga this afternoon, and stopped by for this one. There was an event going at the park, but no problem grabbing the cache. I signed the nice new log. Thanks!
