The Case of the Lazy Cache #3

By: CissyPSP Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Small

Not many folks were on this trail today, but I did see someone from a distance hanging out near the cache site. Nobody was around when I got there. Thanks!

Have A Ball!

By: CissyPSP Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Regular

The trail back here looked like more than an animal trail, but it seemed to stop at a flat spot where you could pitch a tent. Thanks!

The Case of the Lazy Cache #2

By: CissyPSP Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Small

I didn't spot this one right away, but the coordinates were great and I just had to look closer. Thanks!

A Stump With Character

By: WERDAVE Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Small

I was parked at the Hacienda entrance, so I made this my turn around point and started making my way back. Thanks!

Trail Side Little Oak

By: WERDAVE Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Small

We are staying at the Residence Inn for a week until our new house is ready for move-in. I don't have a lot to do besides geocaching, so here goes... Thanks!

A Simple Cache #1

By: CissyPSP Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

I got a late start this morning and there were already lots of people on the trail, especially bikers. Thanks!

Steven Roberts 2007

By: RKOwen Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Micro

Fortunately, I was alone here to look for the cache. There have been lots of folks out on the trails today. Thanks!

Peace, Quiet, and Rest

By: RKOwen Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Micro

I had just signed, replaced the cache, and started down the trail when I met ChucklesDA headed up the trail. It was a great day for hiking and lots of folks were out. Thanks!

Decon

By: CissyPSP Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

I took a quick look for this one (on the wrong side of the trail), then let some hikers and bikers pass. One little girl let out a short scream as she tumbled from bike (at slow speed, headed up the hill). Found the cache after the traffic cleared. Thanks!

Hanging Out with the Dead

By: WERDAVE Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Small

I had a little trouble with this one, but after re-reading the cache title and looking around a bit, I came up with it. Thanks!

Are we at the top yet?

By: WERDAVE Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Small

I skipped this a couple weeks ago hiking with my son. The coordinates seem to be a bit off, and I thought it must be on the other trail. Today, I had plenty of time, and after poking around for a bit finally spotted it. Thanks!

Hand Safety - Cut Resistant Gloves

By: Beyond Safety Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

I was out today for maintenance on my own caches. The PQ in my GPSr was a couple miles short of this area, but I remembered seeing this one on a map before I headed out. No problem spotting it. Thanks!

Yet Another Lamp Post Cache

By: Wildbun Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

I was out today for maintenance on my own caches and unfortunately the PQ in my GPSr was a few miles short of this area. I remembered that there was a new cache here where I found one before, so I hiked down here and came across it fairly quickly once the memory cells started working. Thanks!

Hand Safety - Just Don't Slip, Trip, or Fall

By: Beyond Safety Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Small

This is the second cache I found today based on my memory rather that my GPSr. I believe Motorbug used to have a cache near here. Thanks!

Bison in the No View Bay

By: WERDAVE Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Micro

I have hiked this trail two or three times in the past, but never before with this many geocaches. Thanks!

A Big Rock In the Field

By: WERDAVE Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

My son came down from Oakland for a hike today. The parking lot was surprisingly full at the start of our hike. No problem finding the cache. It was in plain sight. Thanks!

Great Beastern inActivity

By: Great Beastern Apparatus Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Small

We made this our turn-around point after coming up Deep Gulch. We had to examine a couple spots, but my son came up with the cache after a short search. Thanks!

It Might Have Been Magnetic!

By: WERDAVE Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Small

We were initially stumped, but my son spotted a pencil on the ground, then the cache nearby. Thanks!

A Rock, A Log, A Cache

By: WERDAVE Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Small

Two of the items mentioned in the title are quite common, and we looked at the wrong one first, but my son came up with the third item in the title. Thanks!

Moved - No Longer At the Root

By: WERDAVE Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Small

This one was spotted in plain sight after some careful scanning of the landscape. Thanks!

Clinging!

By: WERDAVE Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Small

We just left this one attached while I opened and signed. Thanks!

I've Seen Deeper!

By: RKOwen Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Micro

I found the cache before finding the item in the hint. Thanks!

The Case of the Lazy Cache #1

By: CissyPSP Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Micro

This was a quick find after reading the hints. It was our last cache of the day. Thanks!

Peaceful and Quiet Trail Cache

By: CissyPSP Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Micro

This cache is a new addition since my last hike of this trail a few years ago. Thanks for the incentive!

Where the trails meet, almost.

By: WERDAVE Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Small

We passed this on the way up, and came by on the way down. I sat down to sign the log and probably lost a water bottle out of my pack here, a souvenir from Hawaii.

The Case of the Sleeping Trailside Cache

By: CissyPSP Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Small

We found this on about the third pass. We knew it to be there somewhere, and the coordinates were quite good. Thanks!

First Cache on the Moon

By: Team Turkalina Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Large

Interesting what you find out in the woods. I picked a way that involved minimal bushwhacking. No problem finding it. Thanks!

Mountain Laurel

By: Arrow One Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular

I found the cache right away using the coordinates that trowel32 posted. Thanks!

Rockin in Double Trouble

By: Arrow One Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

This one made for a quick stop. I wonder if anyone has made a detailed trail map of this park. I sure could have used one today to minimize my backtracking. Thanks!

The Thirst Quencher Part 4(the final chapter )

By: friendly finder Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Small

I avoided the prickers as best I could and homed in on this one pretty quickly. Thanks!

Pheobe's GeoDog Cache

By: Pheobe the Pug Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular

Lots of dogs were out on the trail today with their owners. I don't think there were any unhappy dogs. It was a great day to be outdoors. Thanks!

Blueberry Hill

By: Tracy7781 Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

It was the wrong season for blueberries. There was some evidence that folks have been back here enjoying themselves. Thanks!

Frog Pond

By: Arrow One Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

I didn't understand the cache name or the hint, but came across it after a short search. Thanks!

Pretty In Pink (Camo)

By: Arrow One Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Regular

The woods looks almost the same in all directions when you get back here. It's nice to have a GPSr. Thanks!

Where are we!?

By: Tracy7781 Difficulty: 3.5 Terrain: 4.5 Container: Micro

Like the CO said, it's in plain sight, but it does have a color that blends well with its surroundings. My GPSr was reading about 20 feet when I found it.

Red With Envy

By: Arrow One Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Micro

I made this one the last of the day. It was about 1 pm, and I was ready to take it easy and have some lunch. Thanks!

Princess in the Pines

By: Tracy7781 Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Small

My GPSr seemed a little uncertain here, so I had to search a bit up and down the trail, but I finally found the first stage. The first thing I found at the second stage was a ripped pair of boxer shorts, but I eventually backtracked a little and found the cache. Thanks!

Girlie Girl

By: Arrow One Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

In California, I would have used my hiking stick to scare away any rattlesnakes, but here, I just reached under and pulled out the cache. Thanks!

Get Over Your Fear

By: Arrow One Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Regular

It's not fear, it is just common sense in not wanting to be scratched or have wet feet. After the stream jump, the find was a piece of cake. Thanks!

Heritage

By: Arrow One Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular

I drove up to it in my rental car. It hasn't rained in the last few days and the road was relatively passable. Thanks!

Natural Shelter

By: Arrow One Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

I pulled over to the side of the dirt road and hiked over to grab this one. Thankfully, there was no other traffic on the road this morning.

Park N Grab

By: Arrow One Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

I was heading back to my car, and made a quick find. Thanks!

They're Grrrrrrrreat

By: Tracy7781 Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Other

It had warmed up pretty nicely by now and was a great day for hiking. I found this at the first spot I suspected and quickly signed. Thanks!

Cedar Monkey

By: Tracy7781 Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Other

The revised coordinates worked well for me. No problems finding the monkey. Thanks!

Down the road a piece

By: Arrow One Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

I hiked down the road a piece for this one. The cache density is what attracted me to this area. When you're from out of state, geocaches can be a good tour guide, or a schizophrenic one. Thanks!

Gimmie A Sign

By: Arrow One Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Micro

The sign has definitely been there a while. Thanks!

The Nest

By: Arrow One Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

The crazy nest-looking thing is probably just a odd growth on the tree. Found the cache quickly in its little next. Thanks!

No Bones About It II

By: Arrow One Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Regular

Interesting idea for a multi. Hiking off trail is nothing like California. Besides being against park rules, you would be met with poison oak everywhere. Thanks!

Field Of Dreams

By: Arrow One Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

I parked at the gate and made the short hike over. The location seemed somewhat familiar from my visit a few years ago, but I haven't logged this one before. Thanks!

Cherry Bomb

By: Arrow One Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

Good thing this is way out in the woods. It would definitely be the wrong sort of thing to be found by a non-cacher. Thanks!

I went Down to the Crossroads

By: Tracy7781 Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

I hiked in from the back gate for this one. No problems spotting it. Thanks!

The roof

By: Arrow One Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

I wonder if the wood all rotted away, leaving mostly shingles. Thanks!

The Gate #2 (Or at least it used to be)

By: Arrow One Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

It was a bit nippy this morning. My car thermometer read 41 degrees, and I wondered if I would wish for than my sweatshirt. It was sunny, and it warmed right up. Thanks for the waypoint. The log was jammed in, but I worked it out and hopefully will be easier for the next cacher.

Ribbit!!

By: Arrow One Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Other

Found the little critter. I noticed that another group of cachers preceded me here today. Thanks!

EFBP #9

By: jo.b Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

The bike path traffic was light enough to not be a problem when stopping for a cache. Thanks!

Pine Tunnel

By: Park Ranger Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

I happened to head straight for this one, and found it before I had a chance to read the hint. Thanks!

Woolly Bear Blast Furnace

By: stinkersmellcat Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Micro

I was hiking the Edgar Felix Bike Path, and decided to hike over to the Village. I believe I was here a few years ago. The blast furnace looked familiar. Thanks!

B is for Musclemusher

By: jo.b & bernsa Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Small

This was the furthest extent of my hike today. I decided it was time to turn around and not go for "C". Thanks!

EFBP #5

By: jo.b Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

I found a rectangular hunk of concrete at GZ in the ivy and thought I had found the cache, but a little investigation and searching brought me to the cache. Thanks!

EFBT -2

By: jo.b Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

I was delayed here by a work phone call, then a GPSr that took me to the wrong side of the trail. I finally found the container with the missing cap. Thanks!

EFBP #8

By: jo.b Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

A path with this many caches is bound to draw some attention. It drew mine, and I'm from California. Thanks!

"HIKERS AND BIKERS "

By: bumperpants Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

This definitely was different from the host of other caches along here. It took a couple minutes, but eventually I happened on to it. Thanks!

Another brick in the wall

By: briangnj Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

I looked for this on the way up the trail, then tried again on the way back. I had some success about 70 feet from GZ, 140 feet from my first try. Thanks!

EFBT -1

By: jo.b Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

My GPSr was leading me to the wrong side of the trail, but the hint put me back on track. Thanks!

EFBP #7

By: jo.b Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

I missed this one on the way up the trail, but found it on the opposite side of the trail on my way back. Thanks!

EFBP #4

By: jo.b Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

I took a picture of the neat looking farm with the big house. I wonder what a place like this would cost? Thanks!

EFBP #3

By: jo.b Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

Good coordinates for this one. I found it before I had a chance to read the hint. Thanks!

EFBT-3

By: jo.b Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

Found this one after a short search on the wrong side of the trail again. Thanks!

EFBP #10

By: jo.b Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

The caches so far were pretty routine. I like routine, though. I would rather be hiking than searching. Thanks!

EFBT-4

By: jo.b Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

I missed this on way up the trail, and found it pretty quickly on the opposite side of the trail on my way back. Thanks!

A is for Ericles

By: jo.b & bernsa Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Small

I wandered around here, then headed on to "B". On my way back, I looked again, and went straight to it. It was a wonder that I missed it before. Thanks!

EFBP #12

By: jo.b Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

I am on a business trip from CA, but I was taking the day off. This a great hiking day, and quite a nice trail, although rather straight. Thanks!

EFBP #6

By: jo.b Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

I skipped a couple before this one. Rather, I looked for a little while and decided to move on and look for them on the way back. I wanted to make it to Allair and I wouldn't at this rate. No bottom on the cache. Maybe someone didn't rotate it properly. Thanks!

" ALLENWOOD STATION ! "

By: bumperpants Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Other

I skipped this one on my way up the trail because of trail traffic. On my way back, I bought a sandwich at the Allenwood General Store. I started eating at a nearby bench and wandered around and found the cache with plenty of sandwich left. Thanks!

EFBP #1

By: jo.b Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

Right after I signed the log, SSBN 654 came up the path from the opposite direction, so I just handed him the cache. He was also out getting his exercise today. Thanks!

Old Man River

By: Tracy7781 Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

I was hiking the Edgar Felix Bike Path, and saw four caches in a line. I hiked through the Village to have a look. It soon became obvious that the caches were not along a single trail. I hiked out through the bog and grabbed this one. Thanks!

Rock and Roll

By: briangnj Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

I looked around a bit, examined the nearby benchmark and the cache became obvious. Thanks!

EFBP #13

By: jo.b Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

I didn't get started until about 10 am because of trouble with my Garmin 62s. It refused to show any geocaches, even though I had loaded a PQ and looked at it yesterday. I used Garmin's WebUpdater and updated to the latest version, and all the caches came back. I started my hike toward Allair about here. Thanks!

EFBP #11

By: jo.b Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

I took a picture along here to e-mail back to Mrs. Bytemobile. The fall colors were pretty nice. Thanks!

Fungus Among Us

By: Creaky Cachers Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Micro

This one was a bit of a bushwhack. The cache was well hidden by leaves, but luckily I happened upon it after a search. Thanks!

Driving Range

By: The Grounds Keeper Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

SSBN 654 just came from here and said that I would like it. It took a couple minutes for me to home in on it, but it turned out to be quite unique. Thanks!

EFBP #2

By: jo.b Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

It looks like a good day to be golfing as well as caching. My sons are both golfers, but I never took it up seriously. Thanks!

Harvey Bear Loop de Loop

By: Geokashers Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

Wow! First find of this cache since January. I didn't think it was that hard, but they never are when you find them right away. Lots of folks out walking the loop today. Thanks!

Townsprings Trail Toppled Tree Trunk

By: Geokashers Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Small

No problems figuring out where this one was hidden. The main issue was wading through the weeds over here. Thanks!

Between A Rock And A Hard Place

By: Geokashers Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Micro

The shadeless trail was starting to wear on me. I found this one quickly and headed on. Thanks!

She Lies Where She Fell

By: Geokashers Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Micro

Was it really going to be up there? I waited until the compass pointed at a right angle to the trail, then I saw what may have been a cacher's trail and headed up. No problems spotting it. Thanks!

Harvey Bear (Not So) Secret Entrance

By: Geokashers Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

I skipped this one on the way in because there was a woman waiting here with her dog. No problems on the way out. I hiked back to Camping World, and work was just finishing up on my travel trailer. Thanks!

Harvey Bear Gate to the Hills

By: Geokashers Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Not chosen

The trail was surprisingly busy this morning, so I timed my arrival at the gate with a little break in traffic. Thanks!

Welcome to Harvey Bear Ranch!

By: Geokashers Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

I was having some service done on our travel trailer at Camping World. Rather than wait in the waiting room, I hiked down E. San Martin and took a loop hike here. This was my first. Thanks!

Xenophobic Bear

By: kablooey Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Small

This was a nice shady break from a trail that was quite sunny. Thanks!

Harvey Bear

By: hotshoe Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Micro

I didn't need the hint to find this one, but I helps jog the memory as I'm logging this. Thanks!

The Bridge Over The Dinky Stream

By: Geokashers Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Micro

I understood the hint immediately, but still checked three other spots before coming up with the cache. I came down from an upper trail to get this, and continued on the lower trail. Thanks!

A Metamorphic Herd

By: Geokashers Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Small

The field and herd looked a bit different than the CO's picture. The field was considerably drier, but no problem finding the herd. Thanks!

Moooove Over You Silly Calf!

By: Geokashers Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Micro

The force was with me today, and I didn't have my usual difficulties with this type of hide. Other than a ground squirrel, there was no one going by to see me climb up for this one. Thanks!

Split Volcano - Pinnacles NM East Earthcache

By: TerryDad2 - adopted by Mauison Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Not chosen

My wife and I had a look at the Visitor Center, then did a loop hike up through Bear Gulch caves, to the reservoir and back down. It was pretty warm, but nothing like the 105 degrees we heard it hit last weekend.

Welcome to Pinnacles

By: debnchris24 Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

We were towing a travel trailer, so we didn't stop for any other caches along Hwy 25, but there was plenty of room and no traffic, so we made the quick grab on the way into the park. Thanks!

First Chance for Last Chance

By: Sierra Rat Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

We were staying at the Northshore Campground for Labor Day weekend. We didn't do well fishing, so decided to catch a couple caches. Thanks!

THE DEVIL'S BREATH

By: hafhas Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Not chosen

We were camped at Lake Almanor and made this our major entertainment for the day. There were seven of us, including my two-month-old granddaughter, Adventure Baby. The trail was packed with all sorts of folks, and I heard at least three or four different languages. There is still ice and snow over parts of the trail, and a warning sign posted at the beginning of the trail, that travel is not advised. We went anyway and saw and smelled the whole thing. Thanks!

Absolutely BREW-tiful

By: the voucher Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Small

Well, it was too late to head counter clockwise when I got here. I came in from Kings Mountain Road, and headed in the direction of the nearest cache. It was a great day for a hike, and not a lot of hikers were here this morning. Thanks!

TOT - Twelve Pack

By: Passport11 Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Micro

I didn't initially spot anything, so I read the description and found the interesting little landmark. Thanks!

Rock Innie

By: digitalfish Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Micro

This is a great geocache. It is near the trail, non-geocachers would not bother it, and geocachers should find it quickly. Thanks!

Hanging Brew II

By: the voucher Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Micro

I'm no fan of micros in the woods, but this one has coordinates that matched up well with my GPSr, and then the hint kicked in. Thanks!

Forest Brew

By: Passport11 Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Small

Another quick find and I was on my way. Thanks!

Special Brew

By: Passport11 Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Small

I didn't have to read the hint for this one. I found it, signed, and I was on my way. Thanks!

Witch's Brew II

By: the voucher Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Micro

I walked around and looked in the cauldron first, then went back to the trail and found the cache. Thanks!

Kings Mountain Road

By: NavySparksandtheMrs Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

I had just completed the Teague Hill MROSD cache further up the road (and 20+ more). I decided to stop for this one because of the good parking and the fact that I don't come by here often. Thanks!

Final Brew

By: the voucher Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Small

I probably should have looked around a little more before reading the hint. When I did read it, I looked over and spotted the cache about six feet away. Thanks!

Witch's Brew

By: the voucher Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Small

I didn't spot it immediately, but I re-focused my attention and soon was signing. Thanks!

Redwood Brew

By: Passport11 Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Micro

Nice hint and good cache. I was making my way counter-clockwise around the brew loop. Thanks!

Teague Hill Open Space Preserve ~ MROSD

By: MROSD (adopted from digitalfish) Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular

This was my first of the MROSD caches. I had my passport printed out, and put the first stamp on it here. I also continued on for about 20 more caches here. Thanks!

Blue Brew

By: Passport11 Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Micro

I guess I was spoiled by all the great hints in the Brew series, but luckily I didn't need any help on this one. Thanks!

Near the Deer

By: the voucher Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

Uggh! A lot of downhill and uphill for one little cache. I came in from Kings Mountain Road so this was off my route. I could have driven to it, but the GPSr said it was just .22 miles from Witch's Brew. I decided I had plenty of time, so I went for it. I first took an unintended tour of the water tank, then headed down the road the other way. Thanks!

Bloody Brew

By: the voucher Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Small

I completed my brew loop here. I still had to hike up the hill and back to Kings Mountain Road, though. Thanks!

Hanging Brew

By: the voucher Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Micro

I decided to head down here to make a clean sweep of the brew loop. As I've said before, I'm no fan of micros in the woods, and my GPSr didn't get me very close to the cache. I read the great hint, though, and after looking around, I found a matching spot and found the cache. Thanks!

Winter Brew

By: the voucher Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Regular

The hint is out-of-date since the cache is in a nice lock-n-lock, but otherwise another great hint and a quick find. Thanks!

Teague Link

By: ChipnDonna Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular

This cache was quite useful to me because I parked on Kings Mountain Road and the trail to this area was easy to miss. Thanks!

Cold Brew

By: the voucher Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Small

Found it quickly using the great hint. I enjoy hiking more than searching, so this was a great series for me. Thanks!

Mixed Brew

By: the voucher Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Small

Luckily, I didn't need the picture since I don't think they are saved in the GPX file. (At least my GPSr doesn't display it.) Thanks!

Vinyards in BCR Open Space?

By: WERDAVE Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Small

The vegetation has grown up a bit since the last finder in May. The hint was crucial to being able to come up with this one. We took the pathtag and moved it to the Alma Dale cache. Thanks!

BCR Rest Stop

By: CacheClan and Thefogheads Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Regular

I came out here today with Wirebndr, who lives further up Bear Creek Rd. It has been about three years since I have been out here, so the memory was a bit foggy. It was a nice hike on a nice day, with a nice place here to rest a moment. Thanks!

Are You Game?

By: alpharomero.com Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Micro

Wirebndr was busy with a phone call, so I spotted this one and signed. This was as far as we planned to come, so we turned around here. It was quite a nice day for a hike here. Thanks!

Mrs. Bytemobile and I were out and about, attending open houses. We had a little time to kill so I thought about trying for this one. I tried and failed before, so I thought a second pair of eyes would be good. Mrs. Bytemobile made quick work of this one. Thanks!

Savannah Liar's Cache

By: Nurse 1 Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

This was my first Georgia cache. The weather was just like my hometown in the San Francisco Bay Area -- pleasant temperature and low humidity. I dropped off the Tanks - a lot! travel bug which seems appropriate close to Hunter AAF. Thanks!

Y between the Y's?

By: lifesajrny Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Small

I didn't see an obvious hiding spot, so I read the hint and was a bit dismayed. My Garmin 62s does a good job on the cache descriptions, hints, and previous logs, but I don't think it stores images in the cache descriptions. I had another look around, and the cache was not that hard to find without the spoiler image. Thanks!

Mare's Great Log

By: Valoha Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 3.5 Container: Small

"We're All Gonna Die!"

By: Geokashers Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Micro

The only cows I saw today were on the other side of the lake. Cows land well below poison oak and rattlesnakes on my list of things to avoid while hiking, but they are quite large creatures. See the snake evidence I came across a little later in this hike.

Coyote Valley and Anderson Lake View Tour

A BuckingFirds Prickly Pine Cone Cache

By: Geokashers and BuckingFirds Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 3.5 Container: Small

I had a Digger pine in my backyard many years until I finally had it cut down. The big pine cones made quite a crash when they hit the cement patio after falling 50 - 60 feet. Two huge branches fell across my neighbors yard in one storm. Fortunately, they didn't do much damage. Thanks!

GK * Eagle View * HA!

xr100's oak by the lake

By: xr100cmoney Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 4.0 Container: Small

I followed the shoreline around, then the trail sort of disappeared. I think the easy way to do this one is with a boat. Anyway, it was an interesting hike, exploring alternate routes to avoid the poison oak. This was my first of the day. Thanks!

Lower Vista Point

By: 50sumtin Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 3.5 Container: Small

I recommend going straight for the hint to avoid searching around all the new bright green poison oak sprouting up along the trail. The cache site itself is clear.

A Cache with a View

By: 50sumtin Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Small

My ground zero was about 35 feet from the cache, so didn't immediately spot it, but wasted some time beating the bushes. Later, I walked around looking at the benchmarks and easily spotted it.

Puma Concolor

By: DarkZen and Beautiful (adopted by Michael_SFB Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Regular

Danger Cache!

By: DarkZen (adopted by Michael_SFBA) Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 4.0 Container: Regular

This was one DarkZen cache I didn't have to search for. It was the first thing I saw as I approached GZ. I read the hint as I was writing this log, and don't think it is current. I was planning to grab the other two caches down the trail, but my legs and knees were saying that it was time to turn around, so headed back to the Whitehouse Road trailhead. Thanks!

Hanging Voodoo Doll

By: DarkEvilZenPie (adopted by Michael_SFBA) Difficulty: 3.5 Terrain: 3.5 Container: Small

Secret Trail Head: Whitehouse Ridge

By: 50sumtin Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

I ended up pulling my magnetic compass out of my pack and it was a piece of cake after that. I started a five-hour hike here and didn't see a soul all day until just at the end I met a couple starting up the trail.

Upper Vista Point

By: 50sumtin Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Small

The little trail leading to the cache site is getting overgrown with poison oak. It is leaning in from both sides, and is clear across the path in spots. For the poison oak sensitive, I recommend skipping this one, or at least getting it on the way back so you can clean yourself and your clothes sooner. The coast was visible today, but not totally clear due to a marine layer.

Not much problem grabbing this one. A little way down the trail from here I encountered a skunk coming my way on the trail. We noticed each other about the same time, and he stopped and raised his tail, and I stopped. I backed up a few paces and he lowered his tail. We stared at each other a few minutes, and I pondered how I would get around him. Then he shuffled off the trail, and I slowly advanced down the trail.

I had an open day today and decided to travel the 4T trail, starting from downtown. I took the MAX out here, and decided to grab this one after visiting the Vietnam Veterans Memorial. No problems finding it, and I was surprised at the log, which was in great shape and had a quite a number of entries. Thanks!

The CK Cache

By: Chris and Kenzie Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Regular

This is remarkably close to the final for a nearby multi. Of course I didn't know this when I was finding this one and spent a lot of time hiking up and down the hill. This one was pretty straight-forward. Thanks!

Tower Music-Go-Round II

By: Hopalong & HobbleAlong Cachedy Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular

I happened upon the plaques with the needed information by accident rather than planning, but I eventually found all the data, sat down and did some computing, and found the final without much problem. There were some low clouds that hampered visibility, but other than that it was a good day up here. Thanks!

Council Crest Cache

By: Brad, Chad, Joel and Paula Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular

I like to go the extra mile for a really old cache, and I went it for this one. I learned out of necessity how to setup my Garmin to project waypoints using magnetic rather than true north (it makes a big difference at 185 meters!). I hiked up and down the hill a couple times, but finally got everything right. Thanks!

Weird Oregon: Worship, Fortune or Chinese?

By: SparksSeekers Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Other

The streets were busy for the Shamrock Run this morning, despite the rain. It took me a while to unroll the log, sign, and reassemble it, but I eventually got it all together. Thanks!

One For the Little People

By: bazzle Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Not chosen

My hotel room doesn't face the street, so I was surprised by all the people this morning who were out for the Shamrock run. It was also drizzling, so they were a bunch of very hardy souls. I stood around in the rain gathering and computing, and headed down the crowded sidewalk to the final. Thanks!

Work Commenced (Stealth Required)

By: glorieme Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

Mrs. Bytemobile and I were hiking back to The Nines from Powell's, and made a quick stop for this one. My fingers weren't doing the job, but one of my keys worked perfectly to pull out the cache. I wasn't very stealthy, but acting like I had something to hide would have been more suspicious. I was surprised to be the first to sign a brand new log that was easy to remove. Thanks!

Grateful Dead series extra - For The DeadHeads

I am staying with Mrs. Bytemobile at The Nines for a conference, and some of the points of interest are right across the street. We visited the Portland Art Museum yesterday and picked up a few more points of interest along the way. I found the last couple points this morning and the cache. Thanks for a nice downtown tour!

Lost trail at Long Ridge

By: shawberger Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Not chosen

The trail had some snow and ice along it this morning. The ice was a benefit in some places, because the mud was gooey and slippery in other places. The cache was easy enough to find, but getting the log out was another matter. I swore I will add a pair of tweezers to my geocaching kit, as well as swore a few other things. Thanks!

Fullam's Navigator

By: peigimccann Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Small

We were heading up to Davenport today, so I had a look at the caches that didn't involve a hike, and I came up with this one. The solution was straightforward enough. I don't spend a lot of time on puzzles these days. I was surprised that this one didn't have more finders. Thanks!

There were folks sitting in a couple of the parked cars, so I didn't want to look too "unusual", although that might be hard to do around here. Luckily, the cache was a piece of cake, and I handled the find and sign fairly quickly. Thanks!

I think the cache page looks much better on my 62s. After this cache, I headed over to a nearby clearing to see what was sitting there. It was a couch, a fire pit and lots of trash and bottles. I think someone must have parties here. Thanks!

Micro Wavy

By: The Saints Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Micro

Olivine (Mg,Fe)2SiO4 - DP/EC38

By: danieloliveira Difficulty: 4.0 Terrain: 4.0 Container: Not chosen

Mrs. Bytemobile really wanted to come out here, so on our last full day in Hawaii, we spent the day visiting this beach, and another beach about 20 miles down the road that has turtles and black sand. We were amazed by the clarity of the water -- you could see right through the breakers. It was a bit windy, but we took a dip and had lunch on the beach. Thanks!

Puff and Suds

By: Alkapukalup and Lali Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Regular

We came down here after visiting the Green Sand Beach. The black sand was different from the last black sand beach we visited. The tourist buses were stopping by every 15 minutes, but that didn't spoil our visit. We took some pictures of the turtles that were resting on the lava, then grabbed our snorkel gear and went for a short swim. The water was cold where the fresh water was coming in. We saw lots of fish, then I almost ran into a turtle com ing in. Mrs. Bytemobile said a turtle was following her in. Thanks!

Dos and dads cache

By: Alkapukalup and Lali Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Micro

Mrs. Bytemobile was not looking forward to the hike, but wanted to see the Green Sand Beach bad enough to come out here. A couple of minutes after we parked near the boat ramp, Albert, in his four-wheel drive Toyota, dropped some folks off, and offered us a ride for a donation. He stopped to let us take pictures right next to the cache site, so we decided to disembark there. No problems finding the cache. We picked up the travel bug in the cache, since it was a little rusty from a bit of water that had accumulated in the cache. After a hike down, a swim, lunch, a climb back up, and a few pictures, Albert was back dropping some folks off. Albert is usually offering rides Monday through Friday. Thanks!

Troop 15, Kona Scenic

By: Troop15-Kealakekua Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular

Respect the Refuge

By: kavachicks Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Small

The main parking lot for $5 is a deal especially if you plan to tour the grounds. It is a short walk back out though the entry gate to get to the snorkeling area. We managed to go snorkeling a couple times here during our vacation, and spotted a spotted manta ray on the second visit. Thanks!

Ocean Access 1

By: k & ckona Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

We headed down the short path to the ocean, but when we got there, we were still 0.2 miles away. I didn't want to climb over the lava that far, so I tried the other direction, and found an asphalt path right to the cache. Mrs. Bytemobile and I found comfortable chairs near the cache site, and set a spell, watching the ocean. We weren't disappointed when we spotted whales a little later. Thanks!

Turtle Beach

By: Team_JJ Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Regular

I loaded up my GPSr some time ago for this vacation, and didn't have the disabled info. The lock-n-lock box was missing its locking flaps, but some lava rock held the top in place. The cache contents were in fine shape. Saw no turtles today, but the beach was gorgeous and full of people. Thanks!

Thornewood Bridle Trail

By: ChipnDonna Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Regular

This is a nice trail through some great second growth redwood. The cache hunt took a few minutes, and using the hint was less helpful than one might think, with the meandering trail and the tree canopy. I have a pretty new Garmin 62s, and it was 58 feet off at the cache site. I think that is a symptom of being in heavy forest, not of the coordinates being off. Thanks!

Bay Area Ridge Trail - Timber #2

By: TimberToo Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Regular
