I appreciated a break on the ride down. My wrists have a tendency to be painful after a long session of riding and braking. I made careful notes for the next stage and programmed the GPSr. Thanks!

This was my first visit to this trailhead. Mrs. Bytemobile dropped me off and picked me up later at the Nisene Marks entry kiosk. The trailhead was busy this morning with bikes being loaded and unloaded. I wandered over by the cache, spotted it quickly, and made the grab. I was surprised to see that there was an even bigger parking area across the bridge, also busy this morning.

My original plan was for hike, starting down from the Nisene Marks main entrance. Mrs. Bytemobile said she wanted to drop me off, visit her parents in Watsonville, and pick me up. With a drop off and pick up available, I opted for the volcano ride instead. I hadn't been in the Soquel Demo Forest before, so I decided to incorporate some of that as well. It ended up being about a three-hour detour through the Demo Forest before finding Stage 1 for this series. I found the cache back at chest-high level. Thanks!

This was a quick stop on my ride down to Aptos this morning. I needed the hint, and found the cache quickly after reading it. Thanks!

I hiked out to the Epicenter once before, so I was somewhat familiar with this area. When I found the cache, my PN-40 was reading about 80 feet, so I was thankful for the excellent hints.

I was headed down to Aptos on a one-way trip this morning. Easy biking to this point, and I didn't notice any smell. Thanks!

When I rode up, by GPSr was pointing on the wrong side of the road, and I visited the wrong cathedrals. Later, back on the road, the GPSr gave a better indication, and I found the cache in short order. Thanks!

My GPSr said I was close to the cache as I parked in the shade. Then nine mountain bikers pulled up and parked around me to take a break and eat their snacks. I was impressed by their body armor and tales of scars and broken bones. After they left, my GPSr had settled down, and it turned out that the cache wasn't so close by after all.

I was very happy to make it to this point, having pushed my bike up the Corral Trail. Next, a volcano ride down to Aptos. No problems spotting the cache. Thanks!

I was happy to park my bike and take a short break. I went straight for the hint, pulled out my little flashlight, and had the cache in short order. Thanks!

The road was certainly in good shape and open today. The cars with mountain bikes on the back were streaming by. Mrs. Bytemobile helped me look for this one, and it took us a while. The camo tape is very effective. Thanks!

I didn't use the hint for this one. I just parked the bike, and headed straight for the cache. The trail was quite busy this morning, and I just got back to my bike as another group of bikers came by.

As I worked my way up the Corral trail, I couldn't help noticing that all the tracks indicated that bikers headed down this trail, not up. I also met some folks headed down. This was my first visit to the Demo Forest, and I was looking for the quickest way over to Nisene Marks. Thanks!

I worked most of the weekend, but decided I better get out late this afternoon to reset my mood for the week. I foraged a few berries until a bridge-sitter moved along. No problems finding this one, and I did what most people seem to be doing. Thanks!
