Lower Dutch Flat Trail

By: CKayaks Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Micro

I picked up my final foxtails of the day heading up for this cache. I decided not to bother with them until I got back down the hill to my car. The cache took me a couple minutes, then I finally spotted it, hiding in plain sight. Thanks!

Grant's chimney

By: DavidT21 & Fisherwoman Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Micro

I parked in the big lot, hopped on my bike and headed in this general direction. I should have studied the map a little first. I followed the paved trail toward the amphitheater and campground, and ended up doing more hill climbing than I needed to. Got there eventually. Thanks!

Quimby's Quagmire Quandary

By: Xklondike Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

I headed out early this morning for some biking at Grant Ranch I decided to stop on my way in for this one to save a little riding. Pulling in front of the gate is a bad idea. There is a spot a bit further down the road. Thanks!

Alien Traveler 1 "Got Milk"

By: ProTechCC Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 3.5 Container: Small

I think I saw one of these alien travelers a few years ago. I was out for a bike ride this morning, and it was push-push-push, wheeee! along this stretch. Thanks!

CESF Triple Junction

By: tigerundbaer Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Micro

Excellent hide. Easy for a geocacher. Not obvious for anyone else. I made a quick stop and pedaled on. Thanks!

Lone Sentinel

By: CKayaks Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Small

I went up the road a little way, spotted where I was headed, and came back to find the path of least resistance. This was the first of three foxtails-in-the-socks treks this morning. If I had a milder case of OCD, I would have skipped this one.

What a Tree!

By: CKayaks Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Small

Wow! I don't think I came by here on my previous visits to Grant Ranch. That is a tree-plex! Thanks!

Duck Pond

By: CKayaks Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Micro

I beat the bushes pretty hard, but couldn't spot anything of interest.

Kid's Kritter Kache - South Bay Edition

By: Xklondike Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular

I hiked on over after picking up Quimby's Quagmire. There was a big flock of turkeys on the hill. I was surprised to see them all take off and fly instead of just running away from the trail. Thanks!

Canada de Pala Trail

By: CKayaks Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Regular

I took advantage of the cool weather this morning for a long bike ride at Grant Ranch. Breathers like this are always welcome. Thanks!

Country Burgers

By: triplep220 Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 3.5 Container: Regular

I thought my socks were pretty well covered with foxtails before I headed up for this cache, but I managed to pick up a bunch more as I tiptoed around the poison oak plants. This was short stop on a long bike ride around the park this morning. Thanks!

Names Pool

By: Schertleheimer Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

I made a stop here on my bike ride up the Guadalupe River Trail. No problems spotting this one. Thanks!

Skin Deep

By: streetwalker1 and Deathbysnoosnoo Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

I parked at the marina to start a ride up the Guadalupe River Trail. This was my first stop. This street sure has a mix of new buildings and ancient ones. Thanks!

Calliope Music Nearby

By: viperfin Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Micro

I took a long bike ride today up the Guadalupe River Trail from Alviso. On my way up, I wasn't real sure where I had to go for this one, but on the way back, I headed over to the Calliope and found the right approach to the cache. Thanks!

Guadalupe River Trail

By: tigerundbaer Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

The path was busy in the early afternoon today. There were TSA workers and others walking to work. I guessed where the cache must be, and grabbed it on the first swipe. Thanks!

Hanging and Waiting to be found

By: Rocket Girl Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

I have cached here and there along this trail, but today was the first time I rode the whole length. It was a nice trip. Thanks!

Got it, got it again, got eco-cache . . . ?

By: Albatrozz Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular

I agree with OAP that the final clue is ambiguous since the reservoir has two sides. I found the cache in the second area I searched. Thanks!

Cheese Balls

By: OneAngryPuppy Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Large

I made a quick stop here on my bike ride today. This one didn't require a lot of search time. Thanks!

Alviso: Port of Entry

By: tonton-ca (adopted by OneAngryPuppy) Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

I made a quick detour here before heading up the Guadalupe River Trail on my bike. Thanks!

HEY! I'm hanging over here

By: Rocket Girl Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

I parked at the Alviso Marina, and headed up the Guadalupe River Trail for a long bike ride today. I was happy for breaks here and there for caches. Thanks!

Levee Run 1

By: csolsen Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

I took a long ride up the Guadalupe River Trail today. I noted where this one was on my way up, and crossed over and found it on my way back. They sure a discouraging getting on and off the trail here (east side). Thanks!

270 Degrees

By: ChipnDonna Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Small

There was quite a nice view up here today. San Francisco and Oakland were visible below the overcast. A bit farther down, at the corner of the Madrone and Trapper Trail fire roads, you could see up to Shoreline and Moffett as well. The cache was surrounded by poison oak, but no real trouble grabbing it if you are careful. Thanks!

Los Trancos #LT01 Trailhead

By: GoGoJo Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

I saved this one for last. I was grateful for a good hint because I was ready to head for home and a shower. Thanks!

Shotgun to Mars

By: ChipnDonna Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Small

Its great that they have street signs up here, so you don't turn down the wrong fire road. I appreciated the overcast this morning as I hiked these exposed roads. Thanks!

Fern Loop

By: GoGoJo Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Small

As I headed down to this cache, I was thinking that it was a long way back to LT01. No problems finding the cache. As I headed on down the trail, a huge group of hikers was headed up the trail on the opposite side of the ravine. There must have been at least 50 in the group.

Trappers Fire Road

By: ChipnDonna Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Small

This was my second hike in Foothills Park, and my first time up Steep Hollow Trail. I guess when you see "steep" in the name, you know what's coming. Thanks!

A Bridge and a Dark Place

By: GoGoJo Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Micro

I got within 0.1 mi, and thought I must have taken the wrong trail, but the trail wound around, and I finally got to ground zero. I was about to pull out my flashlight to examine the dark places, but spotted the hide as I reached for my pack. Thanks!

Pony Tracks?

By: ChipnDonna Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Small

I think I was closer to those buildings back in Los Trancos OSP, but it was a nice hike out here anyway. Thanks!

Formerly Spooky Places

By: GoGoJo Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Small

There has been some extensive remodeling with chainsaw in the immediate vicinity, but the cache was undisturbed. Image uploaded. Thanks!

Expectations

By: GoGoJo Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Regular

I expect that I'll be caching until I can no longer hike. Last night I plotted a query of my closest 500 unfound caches, and I spotted a cluster of unfound caches, mostly in Foothills Park, so I parked at LT01 this morning and headed out. Thanks!
