KPIG

By: el Jim Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Small

I haven't been a listener, but I thought the studio location was interesting. I was biking caching around Watsonville today. Thanks!

... the Levee Was Dry

By: aginzu, Big Green, little_bear_blue Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Regular

I biked over from Sunset State Beach. No problems spotting the cache, but had to do some careful reaching to avoid the poison oak that is growing up here and there. Thanks!

Struve Slough Geocache #2

By: Greg & Ann-Marie Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

I headed on over here on my bike after completing the Struve Slough Multi. I decided to make this my last cache of the morning, and make my way back to Sunset State Beach. Thanks!

Hummingbirds and Roses

By: Hynr Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

I was camped at Sunset State Beach, and took a long bike ride into Watsonville this morning. I was grateful for the generous hint since I have a short attention span for searching. Thanks!

Struve Slough Geocache

By: Greg & Ann-Marie Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

I started out early from where I was camped at Sunset State Beach, and rode my bike into Watsonville. I thought the map I picked up at the nature center was great. I didn't realize there were so many paths along the sloughs here. One thing that tripped me up was that the future paths were shown on the map as well. Thanks for the multi!

Use Your Feet

By: Sonic Rabbits West Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

I enjoy biking more than I enjoy searching, so this my kind of cache. Thanks!

Yuba Drive Trail Head

By: GoGoJo Difficulty: 3.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

I made this my starting point for a bike ride up and down the Stevens Creek Trail. I was here early so I had no problems searching. It took me a while to find it, though. Thanks!

Lots of Wheels

By: Sonic Rabbits West Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular

I parked at the Yuba Ave trailhead for a bike ride. This was my first visit down the new section of trail. Thanks!

Sleeping Beauty II

By: Rosie the Kitten & her Dad Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

This was my first ride down the new section of trail. No troubles spotting the cache. I would be careful about wandering about searching here since there is poison oak nearby. Thanks!

Fishy Fishy In A Brook

By: Nabby 2009 and friends Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

I made a detour from the Stevens Creek Trail, and rode my bike over early this morning. The only park users were the tennis players, so no problems searching. Thanks!

H0H0H0

By: Wildbun Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

I made this my turn-around point for a bike ride from the Yuba Trailhead today. Lots of folks out on the Stevens Creek Trail today. Thanks!

Cupertino ?s Lombard Street

By: The North Star Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Not chosen

This one took me a few minutes to spot. It blends in quite nicely. Thanks!

All bark and no bite

By: Hairband Triplets Club Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

I headed out for a bike ride this morning, and I made this my first stop. I pulled up on the side that made it easier to spot. Thanks!

Cable-Stayed Bridge

By: crawburr Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Micro

I took a long bike ride today, and this was the destination and turn-around point. It is quite an interesting structure. Thanks!

Reprised The New Bridge In Town

By: GoGoJo Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

I haven't done much urban caching lately, but decided to take a long bike ride over here this morning. I thought the multi was effective because I missed the plaque and bird of prey when I rode over from the other side. I thought the final was a bit more difficult than was warranted, but I finally found it, so it's all good. Thanks!

Yet Another Walkway!

By: Rocket Girl Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

I haven't done much urban caching lately, but today I headed out for a long bike ride, and took several caching breaks along the way. It took me a few minutes to spot this one, but I finally got it. Thanks!

Westwood Oaks

By: Valdemar74 Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

I headed out for a long bike ride this morning, and took some caching breaks along the way. The park was busy this morning, but I didn't make much of a deal of searching. I just rolled right up, reached down and grabbed this one. Thanks!

Tech-reation

By: not2b Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

I normally do my lunchtime walk right by here. The playground is normally busy at lunchtime with kids and parents, but today it was deserted as I came by, so I headed on back and signed the cache. Thanks!

Sunset View

By: Team Gatos Locos Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Small

I was here visiting the camp host for a Mother's Day get-together. I took a short break to head up here for the cache. There was a bit of overcast, but the views were not bad today. Thanks!

TC-Discovery Peak

By: popeye2 Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 5.0 Container: Small

My goal was to find this cache and finish the 'Terrain Challenge' Challenge No. 2 before the weather got hot and the hills turned brown. I was on a roll, having done Bear Mountain a couple weekends ago, and Terrain Challenge 1 last weekend. I was a bit apprehensive about this one since it is about at the limit of my capabilities. I headed out early to Del Valle, and hit the trail at 7:20 am. I ended up spending a little over seven hours on the trail. The temperature was fine today, the hills were green, and the wildflowers were everywhere. No problems except that poison oak is beginning to encroach on the section of trail heading up the hill toward Schlieper Rock. Thanks for the challenge!

Intermediate Health Nut Cache

By: CooperPair Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 4.0 Container: Regular

I started up the trail about 7:20 am, and was just ahead of a group of four hikers. I took the short detour for this cache, and ended up just behind them after signing and hiking down the hill. Nice views and nice temperature up here today.

Daniel's cache

By: DavidT21 & Fisherwoman Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

I decided to stop for this one as I headed out of Del Valle today. Some kids down below waved at me, and we had a hollered conversation about what I was doing, what was my name (Puddintane), how old I was, did I have kids, what are their names.... No problems finding the cache. Thanks!

Checkpoint for Rose Peak

By: tigerundbaer Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 3.5 Container: Micro

This was the one section of my hike today that was somewhat reasonable. Just over the next rise, a rancher had parked his truck and trailer and with his horse and dog was "kicking a few cows toward home." No problems spotting the cache. Thanks!

Bored

By: MotorBug Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

This was close to the route of my normal lunchtime walk. I left my GPSr at home, but had a look on Google Maps. Lots of folks coming and going here at lunchtime. No troubles spotting the cache. Thanks!

TC-Discovery Peak

By: popeye2 Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 5.0 Container: Small

My goal for today was Terrain Challenge 1 and the first stage of this cache. I signed the log, and wrote down the coordinates of the final. The weather was a bit iffy, with a few rain sprinkles on and off all morning, but it turned out to be a good day for hiking up here. I'm hoping there is one more cool weekend to finish this up.

The Staff

By: triplep220 Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Regular

It turned out to be a nice cool day for hiking up here. As long as you were back to your car by 3 pm, there wasn't much rain (I made it about 3:15 pm). This cache took me a while to find. I read the hint several times, and finally found the right area to apply it. I left a red jeep travel bug. Thanks!

Cerro Este Pit Stop

By: dandm Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Micro

My last visit was 3 1/2 years ago. Time flies! Last time I logged a was-not-there. Today, it was a quick find, and my first stop on the way to Terrain Challenge 1. I managed to pedal my bike all the way here from the parking lot without getting off to push, and I was ready for a stop.

Mardi Gras in California?

By: Jimswim Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 4.0 Container: Regular

My turn-around point was going to be the first stage of TC - Discovery Peak, but I couldn't resist slogging on up the hill for this one. The weather was threatening, but it turned out to be a good day for hiking up here. Thanks!

Equinox Sky Camp

By: GeoROCKS! Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Regular

I decided to go for the trifecta and find this cache in addition to Terrain Challenge 1 and the first stage of TC - Discovery Peak. The camp sites around here are quite unique. I think this is the craziest one of them all. I can't imagine lugging water up here. I had a bit of trouble finding the cache, but finally happ ened onto it after an encounter with an ant colony. I reached up into the hollow of the nearby tree, and my hand came out covered with ants that were biting mad. I neglected to read the whole cache description on my PN-40, otherwise I would have posted a photo. I took the red jeep travel bug in the cache and left mjp303's turtle geocoin traveler.

Tin Can

By: IrishJen Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Small

This was my last cache of the day as I headed back to my car after a long bike and hike. The rain was still light when I parked my bike on the trail, and headed over to find the cache. The coordinates were a little off for me, but I read the hint, and wandered until I found the right spot. The rain was starting to pick up, so I was happy to get back on my bike and zip down to the parking lot. Thanks!

Terrain Challenge 1

By: popeye2 Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 4.0 Container: Small

I gambled a bit on the weather today, but it worked out fine. My other objective today was the first stage of TC - Discovery Peak. I decided to head to that cache first, and pick this up on the way back. My legs had quite a bit of mileage on them by the time I was making the final approach to this one. I had thoughts earlier of taking a lunch break here, but the wind was blowing and there were enough rain drops coming down to make e verything wet. I ended up spending very little time on top, and I was grateful for the good coordinates and straightforward hide. The rain mostly held off until I was back on my bike, and cruising down Camp Ohlone Road to the parking lot. Thanks for the adventure!

Le Petite Canyon

By: Geo Starlight, Allannah and Grimlaf Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Small

I saved this one for on the way back. I parked my bike at the bench, and found the right path over to the cache. Thanks!
