Alquist Trail Meets County Line Road

By: Geokashers Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 3.5 Container: Small

This was my first cache stop this morning. I read the hint for this last night, so I tried to find it before pulling out the GPSr. That didn't work out, but the GPSr did the trick. Thanks!

The Angry Ant Cache

By: Geokashers Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 3.5 Container: Small

I saved this for on my way back from Bear Mountain. I met bthomas and calipidder on my way back up from Mississippi Lake, and saw their signatures in the log. Thanks!

Mississippi Lake

By: Pedaler Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 4.0 Container: Regular

I saved this for on the way back from Bear Mountain. The cache was quite full and heavy -- someone must have had a heavy backpack. Thanks!

TC-Bear Mountain Peak

By: popeye2 Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 5.0 Container: Small

This was my main objective of the day. Actually, it has been my objective for the last couple months. After reading ProtechCC's experience last year, and the fact that I do not frequently mountain bike, I decided my 58-year-old legs needed some conditioning. I started riding a fast 4 to 5 miles every night after work. It helped quite a bit, and the cool weather today helped even more. I was third in line at the Bell Station gate this morning, and I made it up here about 10:45 am with no problems other than maybe an ill-advised shortcut by Turkey Pond. I picked up MJP's traveling turtle coin since I wasn't sure anyone else would come up this year.

I Can See Clearly Now The Fire Is Gone

By: Geokashers Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 3.5 Container: Regular

It was a pretty nice day for pedaling up this road. A caching break here and there is nice too. After signing the log, I spotted a little blue snake by my feet. He had lots of action in him when I picked him up, but he turned out to be inanimate. I spotted a couple of real snakes later in the day, neither of them rattlers.

Chapman's Hardware

By: Geokashers Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 3.5 Container: Micro

I saved this for on my way back from Bear Mountain. I met lots of folks with packs and fishing poles along the road around the lake. Thanks!

Dont Blink

By: Mystery Ink Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 4.0 Container: Regular

Hotshoe and I searched all over for this a couple years ago. It helps when the cache is actually present. This was my last cache of the day after a successful assault on Bear Mountain. Thanks!

Bear Mountain Rollercoaster

By: Geokashers Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 3.5 Container: Small

I was closing in on the main event of the day, Bear Mountain, but I didn't might stopping for another cache along the way. My riding technique through here was push-push-push, wheee! Thanks!

A Rock And A Hard Place

By: Furnas Hooligans Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

I stopped by on my way back from a late afternoon tour of Tombstone. I used the excellent coordinates to pull up next to it and spotted it before getting out of the car. I was surprised to see someone working on the other side of the fence with a wheelbarrow. Thanks!

SV Cluster Cache # 8

By: Team Sandy and Team Dallas Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

I did a little caching after dinner, before heading back to the hotel. No problems spotting this one. Thanks!

Pel

By: New Yorker adopted by Desertwilde Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

This is quite a huge sport complex. I came by early this morning, and had no trouble. This was my second Arizona cache. Thanks!

Homer 85635

By: Team_Loki Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

I've seen this one before, but it works well here. Thanks!

Payless

By: Fantomfreq Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

This was my first Arizona cache. I came by early, and had no troubles retrieving & signing. Thanks!

Transformers Goes Shopping

By: New Yorker adopted by Desertwilde Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

I picked this one up after hitting Applebee's for dinner. Thanks!

Tiny Dancers

By: Our Micro-hunter (Team Soulofall) Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Regular

I did a little post-Applebee's caching on the way back to my hotel. This was a nice hide because it is not very obvious to anyone except a geocacher. Made this my last one since the sun had just set. Thanks!

Coal Creek OSP Trailhead

By: GoGoJo Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular

I stopped here this morning for a little hike out to Crazy Jack. The bicyclists were really out in force this morning along Skyline Blvd. A group passed just after I put the cache back. Thanks!

Russian Ridge Views

By: 50sumtin Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular

I wanted to get up here while the wild flowers were still blooming. I suspect that they were not quite at their peak this weekend, but there was lots of color here and there along the trail. The views of the valley were somewhat impaired by a fog layer this morning, but overall, it was a great day to be up here.

Crazy Jack

By: AlphaRomero.com Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Micro

I did a couple hikes along Skyline Blvd this morning. This was the first, and it was a nice little jaunt down to the cache. Thanks!

Coyote's Brush

By: PurplePeople Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

I decided to hike on over here from Quercus, make this the last cache of the morning, and loop back to the vista point. Pretty nice views up here this morning. Thanks!

Quercus

By: PurplePeople Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular

As I headed down the trail toward the cache, a coyote came around the corner, headed near the cache, then up the hill. He stopped, sat and scratched himself, so he wasn't too worried about me. By the looks of his bushy tail, he must be making a good living up here. At the cache site, I read about coast live oaks and canyon live oaks on my PN-40, and filed away a new tidbit of information. Thanks!

The Dollar Cache

By: TJDavis Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Regular

The cache idea seems to be working out so far. There is still some nice stuff in the cache. I am out of the dollar toy demographic, so I didn't do any trading. Thanks!

Yerba Buena

By: Sierra Hikers Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

This was my first stop this morning, and also my toughest find, with all the weeds around the area. The last time I visited the nursery a few years ago I was re-doing my front yard with all California native plants. Thanks!

The Links

By: Gitonyerhorse Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

I was out for a bike ride this morning, and happened to come this way. Just for fun, I stopped and checked on the cache, and it is exactly where I found it before.

Coyote Lake View

By: Geokashers Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Micro

There were nice views of the lake today, as well as nice views on the Gilroy side at various points along the trail. Thanks!

jeepsweden US3

By: jeepsweden Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular

It was a nice day for a hike today and lots of wildflowers were blooming. The cache was nicely concealed, but no troubles finding it. Thanks!

Curt's Volunteer Cache

By: RKOwen Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Regular

There was a little bulldozer parked here, where there is a relatively short unfinished gap in the new trail. That gap looks very tough to deal with, though. I'm glad it's not my problem. No problems spotting the cache. Thanks!

In Memory of the N7383A Passengers

By: RKOwen Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

This is something new since my last visit in November, 2007. I stopped a moment, pondered the names on the plaque and computed their ages. Thanks!

Bear Pond

By: Geokashers Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Micro

There was a mallard in the pond today, and he gave me a few quacks as I came up. I also saw lots of deer and turkeys today, but not at the pond. No problems spotting the cache. Thanks!

Mende Benchmark Rest

By: RKOwen Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Micro

It was a nice day for hiking today -- cool weather, great views, and lots of wildflowers. No problems spotting the cache. Thanks!

Fools Cache In

By: Seek2FindMe Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Not chosen

I stopped here on my way back to the trailhead. My feet were already wet from wandering off trail, so a little more didn't hurt. The coordinates weren't right-on for me, but I didn't have much trouble spotting the cache. Thanks!

A Kid's Cache

By: Geokashers Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular

There were some nice goodies in the cache, but I wasn't in a trading mood today so I just signed the log. Thanks!

Coyote Waits (Nazgul Secret Trailhead #7)

By: Nazgul Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

I DNF'ed this a year and a half ago, but today I had much better luck after poking around a bit. This was my first stop of the morning. Next, I was headed to the Mendoza Ranch entrance. Thanks!

Rancho San Ysidro Meets Coyote Ridge

By: Geokashers Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Small

The cache was surprisingly well hidden, but I finally got the right angle and spotted it. The grass and weeds were a bit high and damp, so my shoes picked up a bit of moisture here. Thanks!

Kaitlyn's Tree Hole

By: Geokashers Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Small

There have been a lot of new caches along here since my last visit in November, 2007. Today was nice because the weather was cool and the wildflowers were out. No problems spotting the cache. Thanks!

Water Trough View

By: Geokashers Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Not chosen

As I started down the trail from the ridge, I started getting taller and my shoes started getting heavier. I removed some mud and kept more to the side of the trail. This type of hide can take time to find, but the coordinates were right on, and lead me right to the cache. Thanks!

Between A Rock and a Soft Place

By: goodlife Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 3.5 Container: Small

I saved this for near the end of my expedition, since I knew my shoes and socks would be wet when I was done. I managed to get to the cache with only one minor fall. No problems finding it. Thanks!

The Cache That Broke The Tree's Back

By: Geokashers Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Micro

It must be turkey mating season, because the toms were strutting their stuff today. I heard them all over the park today. No problems spotting the cache. Thanks!

You'll Need Skull To Find This Cache

By: Geokashers Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Not chosen

Nice cache in a good spot, right next to the trail. Thanks!

Mendoza Ranch Secret Trailhead

By: RKOwen Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

As I headed out, I looked briefly for the cache around another dog-related item, but there was a woman sitting nearby in her car, so I just headed on down the trail. The parking lot was nearly empty when I returned, and had no trouble with the cache. Thanks!

Los Alamitos Trail Mix

By: pianoman16 and Millers123 Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Small

I took a little bike ride this morning, and this was a quick stop along the way, and a good point to leave the trail for "Rocky". Thanks!

Little Tiny Cache

By: The Petoskey Stones Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Micro

This was my first little hike on this trail. There were lots of folks out for a walk this morning. Thanks!

Riding Fences

By: Two Hawks Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

This was my first ride on this section of trail, and I thought it was great this morning. The weather was cool, the grass was green, and I wasn't headed to work. Thanks!

Rocky

By: Belgian Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular

I headed off the Los Alamitos Creek trail with my bike, wandered around a little, and saw the trail to this cache where it started along the road. I pushed my bike a little way up the hill and locked it to a tree. The trail to the cache was great, with nice views this morning. Thanks!

LeChuck's Moai Treasure

By: LeChuck Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Regular

There were a couple of high schoolers hanging out just above the cache site this morning. They probably thought I was weird, poking around here and there. I had plenty of time to read the full cache description on my Delorme PN-40 as I waited for them to move. This is definitely a cool spot. Thanks!

Jack's Juniper Hide

By: The Petoskey Stones Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

I would tend to disagree with the idea that if you find the bush, you find the cache. The cache is not all that easy to spot. I checked on all sides and got my hands all sticky before I finally spotted it. Thanks!
