At the corner of Mine and Stile

By: sammydee Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Small

My Delorme PN-40 was a little off here, but as soon as I read the hint, I could see where the cache was located. Thanks!

ST Manzanita

By: sammydee Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

This was the last cache on my little loop in from the back door to Santa Teresa. No problems spotting it. Thanks!

Got Signal?

By: Team Nazgul Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

I finished the El Toro climb in Morgan Hill this morning just after 9 am, picked up my "Made it to the Top" certificate, and headed here for another hike. The parking lot here was busy this morning, and just a couple more spots were left. No problems spotting the cache, but a trail runner came up from behind me as I was putting it back. Thanks!

On Fortini, Cross Street Mine

By: sammydee Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Small

This one was a tad exposed, with a serious geo-trail straight to the cache, so I spent a little time covering it up after I signed. Thanks!

Stile Ranch Waterworks

By: sammydee Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Micro

I took the SammyDee wildflower loop this morning after conquering El Toro in Morgan Hill. The slog up and down from the Nazgul trailhead is a rough one. Thanks!

Rosetto Ranch View

By: sammydee Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

There were some nice wildflowers a little ways up the trail from the cache. A photographer was just putting away his tripod as I came by. The cache took me a while to spot. I think it should be painted red or orange. Thanks!

San Cuplaratoga

By: Dan+Dave Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Regular

This one is about a mile from home and I saw it when I fired up the computer at 6 am this morning, but I was headed to Morgan Hill to climb El Toro this morning, so I got back here just about noon. I looked at a satellite view before coming over, so I really didn't use the GPSr. Thanks!

Stop and take a Breather

By: Banana Slug Racing Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Small

I parked at the closest trailhead and slogged up the switchbacks. I would hate to do this one in the middle of summer. I poked around with my hiking stick, and came up with the cache after a short hunt. Thanks!

Hooked on Geocaching #1

By: GoGoJo Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Micro

I stopped and leaned my bike up against the spot where the cache turned out to be, then proceed to search the surrounding areas. After signing, I spotted some turkeys calling and strutting way up on the green hillside visible from the cache site. Thanks!

Temptation aka Resist the Rocks

By: GoGoJo Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Micro

The coordinates were excellent, as were the other caches I found today. I zipped down the hill on my bike, then had to retrace my path to get the cache. I was expecting to pull out a nano, but my hand came out with a cache that is much easier to log. Thanks!

Hooked on Geocaching #2

By: GoGoJo Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Micro

Arrrgh! After I signed the log and was adjusting the placement of the cache, I focused on the new leaves that I had been brushing with the back of my hand. Definitely poison oak, although there are lots of other three-leafed vines nearby, which are not. I left the Technu in the car, but when I got back, I applied it liberally, then scrubbed with it again in the shower when I got home. I should have read the previous log!

Watering Trough

By: GoGoJo Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Micro

I read the cache title, headed up the trail, and parked my bike at the wrong trough. My GPS soon straightened things out. Thanks!

Dragonfly Dike

By: L-grl Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

No dragonflies were flittering about today. No problems with the cache. Thanks!

L-grl's Horde Reloaded

By: Capt Tong & the Jungle Mock Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

A horde of new caches at Arastradero Preserve popped up since my last visit, so I it seemed like a great place for a bike ride this morning. Thanks!

Juan Bautista Loves a Songbird

By: GoGoJo Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Small

I was expecting a more difficult hide, and spent a few minutes poking and peeking here and there, but finally got around to the right area. Thanks!

Singing So Happily

By: GoGoJo Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Small

Again, I was looking for a more difficult hide, but I finally got around to the point where the cache was easy to see. The trails up here were a mixed bag today. Some of them were a bit muddy. Thanks!

Secret Trailhead: Arastradero

By: British Invasion Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

I stopped by here after a bike ride in Arastradero Preserve this morning. I DNF'd a previous incarnation of this cache, but today it was a piece of cake. Thanks!

Mimicking kablooey's Garden

By: GoGoJo Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular

The guy working in the nearby facility was blasting his music loud enough to be heard for a quarter mile all around. This is certainly a discouraging area to search, but I looked around a bit, and finally spotted the telltale signs of a cache. Thanks!

Sentinel on Meadowlark Trail

By: GoGoJo Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular

The dew was still heavy on the grasses this morning, and I had to do a bit of wading through them to get to the cache. No problems spotting it. Thanks!

Silent Mystery of Felt Lake

By: TimberToo Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular

I read the cache description as I wandered around looking for the cache. Interesting story. My shoes got a bit damp from the dew this morning, but no other troubles spotting the cache. Thanks!

Mar 7, 2009

By: Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Small

Looks like trail maintenance has been neglected here for a while. I was curious how much further up the road I could hike until I came to a gate and a keep out sign, but not curious enough to actually hike it. Thanks!

Midway Motivator

By: cc Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 4.0 Container: Regular

The creeks were running and making a lot of noise this morning. There was even a little stream of water running near the cache. I managed to retrieve the cache without injury and headed on down Barlow Rd. Thanks!

Ribbon Chert

By: bullit Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

I think I was the first one up the road this morning. No problems spotting the cache. Thanks!

Oscar, our ferret buddy

By: Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Small

Looks like this was a nice backyard for hanging out and watching the woods. The lid was tight on the cache, but there was still an accumulation of water inside. Fortunately, the baggie kept the log dry. I emptied the water and oriented the cache so that water would drain out instead of in. I paid my respects to Oscar, and headed back up to Barlow Rd. Thanks!

Keeper Of The Cache

By: Nana of summerandnana Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular

I finished up a hike on Barlow Rd, and decided to stop here for one more. It took me a surprising long time to spot the cache. I guess I was looking for a tougher hide. The keeper is still in fine shape. Thanks!

Night on Bald Mountain

By: 50sumtin Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Regular

I don't know about night up here, but today was pretty fine. Well, except for the guy on top who was shouting into his phone the whole time I was up here. Thanks Bud, where ever you are.
