LGT: Pruneyard

By: Dr Jekyll Difficulty: 4.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

Two or three weeks ago, I searched high and low for this. I didn't find it, but I had a good idea where it might be, I just didn't want to take the time to check out my hunch. This evening, after dinner at the Pruneyard with relatives from out of town, I mentioned to my wife that I had a short errand. I quickly grabbed the cache and added my signature. Thanks!

I think I know you!

By: AlphaRomero.com Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Small

This turned out to be the hardest find of the day. My GPSr was wandering around, taking me up and down the wooded hillside. I want a new GPSr with a more sensitive receiver!

Saguaro Sempervirens

By: Michael_SFBA Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Small

I don't think a photo does this tree justice. You have to be there to appreciate its massiveness. I happily used the hint and parsed and reparsed it and the cache description. I wasn't spotting much from the base of the tree, but I wandered around and spotted what I needed to see. Thanks!

The Sky's This Way

By: GoGoJo Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular

I managed to find this one without the hint, after my GPSr took me on a looping approach to the cache. I was the first one to the trailhead this morning, and it was nothing but solitude so far.

The Peppermint Stick Tree

By: GoGoJo Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Regular

Quite a unique tree. I found the cache after poking around here and there. This was my turn-around point, and next I headed for the Pomponio Trail to check on one of my caches. Thanks!

Pescadero Park Sawmill

By: GoGoJo Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Regular

Very cool! I love finding very old stuff in the woods. No problems finding the cache. Thanks!

Giant Teeter Totter

By: Michael_SFBA Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Regular

This was my first hike on this trail. It was quite nice and very quiet. I left Bytemobile turtle #422. Thanks!

Camp Pomponio Road Trailhead

By: Michael_SFBA Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Small

I found this cache quite useful as a waypoint, both for finding the trailhead and for measuring how far to the car as I was hiking back on the Upper Coyote Ridge trail. I was not so enthusiastic about the placement. The ground cover is a mixture of poison oak and some other vines. I accidentally brushed my cheek against a poison oak vine as I was inspecting the nearby trees.

Who's That Trip Trapping....?

By: GoGoJo Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Regular

I guessed correctly, and found the cache immediately. It seems like I found a cache on the bridge once before. I left the Caching for Dummies travel bug. Thanks!

The Links

By: Gitonyerhorse Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

I'm not to proud to use a spoiler. This was my closest unfound, so it was no trouble to give it another shot. No problems this time. Thanks!

TC-Rancho Again

By: popeye2 Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Regular

I was looking for a little exercise this afternoon, and this cache fit the bill. I have been up this hill before and really wasn't looking forward to it again, but there is quite a bit of shade on the trail. I had a look at Google Earth before heading out, so I knew the lay of the land, terrain-wise. I took a relatively direct route to the cache, and left by a better, more round-about trail. I think the term bushwacking is relative. There are old trails and animal trails, so unless you give a waypoint, people are going to find multiple ways up here. I took the Caching For Dummies travel bug and left Bytemobile turtle #420. Thanks!

Junior Monster

By: the girls and I Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

This was a spooky little hike through the woods this evening as it was starting to get dark. Spider webs hit me in the face and fire flies lit up here and there (something I don't see in California). No problems locating the cache. I TNLN. Thanks!

Arabian - Wild Pony series

By: The Girls and I Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

This cache was very close to my hotel. It was getting pretty dark when I started to look for this one, but it was the right color for spotting it. Thanks!

Winter Heat

By: the girls and I Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Micro

Not much going on here this evening. I spotted the cache the first place I poked around, so the coordinates are not too bad. Thanks!

Oldsmobile Ninety-Eight

By: Team Christiansen Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

The trail to the cache is overgrown with waist high weeds, so it's not a place to hike after a rain. I saw the one travel bug in the cache, but I decided to leave it there since I didn't have one with me. Thanks!

Progressive Metal

By: the girls and I Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

This was a well lighted place to find my last cache of the evening. I believe I signed in the last little blank spot on the log. Thanks!

Pogo Stick

By: runeshower Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

I know a pogo stick when I see one. I was pretty good at it when I was growing up. I hopped all around our basement. I signed in the last blank spot on the log. Thanks!

Black Phoebe Lake

By: avtanski Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

I was persistent, and after pulling out about five things in the near vicinity which I each expected to be the cache, my fingers finally hit on the right thing. My signature was the first one on the new log. Thanks!

Twin Creeks

By: Scouts Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Regular

I was out for a bike ride in the baylands this morning, and spotted this one on my GPSr. Lots of kids out playing ball this morning. Thanks!

Trailer Park DMZ

By: Boulter, Adopted by : Atomsoup Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

The kids with dirt bikes were busy with a net trying to catch some of the minnows in the stream. They hardly notice me as I poked around for the cache. It turned out to be in the last place I looked. Thanks!

Been Here: East Java

By: 50sumtin Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Micro

I picked up the coordinates last week. Today I was riding my bike, which made it more convenient to pick up the final. Thanks!

Levee Run 1 mile loop

By: csolsen Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

I had my bike out in the baylands today. I made this my first stop. The hide is one of those that call out to geocachers, but other folks wouldn't notice. Thanks!

Where The Sidewalk Ends

By: Somethings Fishy Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

I finished up a bike ride in the baylands, and decided to do a few nearby caches. I parked and hiked to this one. Thanks!

Get Thee to a Meadery!

By: Alpharomero.com Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

After I bike ride in the baylands I came by here on a little caching run. My GPSr didn't seem too confident in its location, so I used the hint for a quick find. Thanks!

Levee Run - North Pond

By: csolsen Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Micro

I had my bike out this morning, and decided to pedal on out here. This is my kind of biking -- flat as a pancake. Thanks!

Pipe Dream

By: Team SARS Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Small

I think I was lucky on this one. It turned out to be the very first thing I touched. Nicely constructed!

Rosie's Coloring Cache

By: Rosie the Kitten & her Dad Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

I was out riding my bike in the baylands this morning, and spotted this cache on my GPSr. It was about lunchtime, so I took a little break here and ate my snack bars. Thanks!

Easy as ...

By: cachbefound Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

This is a short drive from work, so I made time for a little cache run at lunchtime today. Thanks for the puzzle!

Big and Easy

By: Rocket Girl Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

I came out at lunchtime for a puzzle cache, and picked up this nearby big and easy one. Actually, there are several places to look, and it took me a few minutes. Thanks!

Just a short HOP from the Dam

By: Rocket Girl Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Other

I came to Stevens Creek Canyon this afternoon mostly for a Terrain Challenge cache, but I came by here for a look for this one. I soon spotted a red eye looking out from under a bush, and had the cache fairly quickly. Thanks!

TC-Reservoir Overlook

By: popeye2 Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Small

I brought my bike for stage 1, but made the mistake of parking at the Villa Maria picnic area. All of the trails out of that area are now marked Area Closed; No Entry. My trek to stage 2 started out a little off, but I soon figured out where the trail was. I left Bytemobile turtle #419. Thanks!

Runway for GeoDog

By: MamaBe Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

I was out for a little car caching this afternoon. I have been here before, for a famous Marky & Joanie cache. No big problems with this one. Thanks!

X-8: Ross Creek Troll

By: Nazgul Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

I did a little car caching this afternoon, which I haven't engaged in for a while. No problems spotting this one. Thanks!

Tiny Frogs

By: oldbadger Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Small

I think I noticed this cache when it first came out, but never got around to looking for it. Today I was in the area and decided to give it a shot. It had me puzzled for a while, but I finally figured out where to look, and came up with the nicely crafted cache. Thanks!

Hyde and Ivy on the Bank of the Mighty River

By: Dr. Jekyll Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

I decided to do a little car caching this afternoon, which is relatively rare for me. I made use of the hint for a relatively painless find. Thanks!

Carney Memorial Cache

By: Team Sasq-cache / Searching Fool Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

I did a car caching this afternoon, and this one was conveniently on my route. No problems spotting the hiding spot. Thanks!

X-3: Are You Outstanding In Your Field?

By: Nazgul Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

My father was a farmer, but I didn't want to be outstanding in that field, so I picked a different career path. I all worked out well, and I ended up here, outstanding in a different field. Thanks!

Jailhouse Rock

By: 50sumtin Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

I started out on the wrong side of the building and had no luck, went back to my vehicle, then decided to try once more and spotted it. I just saw this place on Channel 5's Evening Magazine a couple days ago.

The Mines of Moria

By: 50sumtin Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 3.5 Container: Small

This was my least favorite of all the tunnels I have done. There was the bathroom, complete with a couple rolls of toilet paper at the beginning, then the cramped last section, that seemed to be squished a little lower in the middle from the weight of the highway. The log is in a sorry state, damp and black with mold, but I made my mark as best I could.

Park and (Trail) Ride

By: Modjo tREKkers Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

This was the start of a little cache run up the coast for me this morning. So that is where the trail to Wilder Ranch starts. Thanks!

The Holy Grail

By: Sgt Stitches and the Cruz Commandos Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Regular

I solved this last year, but ran out of time on my last caching expedition along the coast. Today, I remembered to bring the solution along, and was ready for the final encounter. It took me a while to find the well-hidden treasure, but I emerged successful and a bit grubby. I left Bytemobile turtle #418. Thanks for the adventure!

The EEEEWWWW Lagoon

By: The Saints Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

This was my turn-around point for a little caching expedition up from Santa Cruz this morning. I spotted this one about noon, and headed back down the coast. Thanks!

Town of Lexington II: Building Block

By: Nazgul Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

The cache area is certainly high and dry this summer. No problems spotting this one. Thanks!

Wild Beach

By: Sgt Stitches Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

I made a good guess on where the cache might be and grabbed it quickly before anyone came by on the trail. There were a surprising number of cars in the lot and people on the trail this morning. Thanks!

Where the Land Ends

By: 50sumtin Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

As I started the hike out here, I spotted a fisherman at the very end of the land, on a ledge, with a line running way down to the ocean. I poked and peeked, and prodded around, but I wasn't able to spot this one.

Town of Lexington v1.1

By: Nazgul Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

I wanted to get around to these sometime this summer, and today worked out well. I was headed to Santa Cruz for a little cool weather caching, and stopped for a short hike here. Thanks!

Shelobs Lair

By: mayela mingi Difficulty: 4.0 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Small

This was the first of three tunnels for me this morning. I used rubber boots and managed to keep from stepping in anything very deep. Thanks for the adventure!

Great Wilder Ranch Trail Head

By: 50sumtin Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

This was my last cache of the day. I was already dirty from grubbing around in caves and tunnels, so I got down and dirty and spotted this one pretty quickly. Thanks!

Where the Sun Sets

By: 50sumtin Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

Nice views out here, but they would be even nicer with a little sun. I'm not complaining, though, it was a bit on the hot side in San Jose today. Thanks!

Yellow Rose and Panther Beaches Parking

By: 50sumtin Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

Nice photo on the cache page! There wasn't much sun this morning, and everything was kind of drippy wet, but it was better than the heat over the hill today. Thanks!

The Lair of Smaug

By: 50sumtin Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Regular

This was my second tunnel of the morning. I had my rubber boots, and managed to lower myself over the wall to avoid the deep water. A ways down the tunnel, I was thinking about something other than where I was stepping, and managed to get a little water in one boot, but other than that, had no mishaps. Thanks!

Wilder Coast

By: 50sumtin Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

I parked by bike and waited for a couple of dads and a number of kids to go by, then I spotted the cache quickly. I also spotted my next objective from here. Thanks!
