Watch out for Bears

By: zapboy Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Regular

I need to get in shape for a backpacking trip coming up in June with my sons, so this hike is a first step. This was cache number two on an early morning hike. I left Bytemobile turtle #412. Thanks!

End of the Trail 1

By: darrenk13 Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular

I had been planning to do this cache for a few years now, and finally made it out here. No problems spotting it. I left Bytemobile turtle #413. Thanks!

Monkey Cache

By: zapboy Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Small

No problems finding the cache. I was willing to go higher. The log was full, but there are still a few blank areas around the margins. Thanks!

Out on a Limb in Monte Bello

By: runnerinwoods Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Small

I think Motorbug scouted this very spot for a possible cache when we did a hike together some time back. Thanks!

Timber Wolf

By: zapboy Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Regular

I'm starting to get out on the trail again after helping my wife open up a new yarn shop in downtown Campbell. I got an early start this morning and this was the first stop. I left turtle #411. Thanks!

Lake Monte Bello

By: runnerinwoods Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 3.5 Container: Regular

Nice spot -- not hard to access, but surprisingly hard to spot unless you are looking for it. Thanks!

Scar

By: zapboy Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular

This was toward the end of my loop hike. I headed across the road for some more hiking after this one. Thanks!

Dead Droplet (#5)

By: kidsanddogs Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

We were early for our flight back to California, so we stopped for a couple caches along the way. We spotted three deer where we entered the woods, or rather they spotted us, and watched us intently until we got too close. Found the cache after a thorough search of the area. Thanks!

The Dead Drop

By: MeBuff8Fan Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular

The area was still a bit muddy, and we took some home with us. Found the cache after looking in several spots. I left Bytemobile turtle #410. Thanks!

95N Time 2 Stop

By: Stumblefoot Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Small

I got a call on my cell phone, so I decided to pull in here to talk. dclendenin had done a good PQ for our travels, and figured out there was a cache here. Thanks!

Stafford Microplace

By: Three Boys a Caching Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

I don't normally include puzzle caches in my PQs when I travel, but I did this time. This shopping center is across the street from where we stayed, so it was convenient for caching before going out to dinner. Thanks to dclendenin for doing the heavy lifting on this one.

The Lost Trail of Locust Shade

By: Three Boys a Caching Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular

dclendenin and I did a counterclockwise hike around the lake and the park this afternoon after work. We didn't need the hint for this one. Thanks!

Swing

By: the girls and I Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

This was a very nice park to find for two out-of-town cachers with a little time after work and before dinner. No problems with this one. Thanks!

stop whining.

By: dakotasdad Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Small

dclendenin wondered where I was going when I headed for this one. It turns out that it was missing from his PQ for some reason. His Garmin 60csx was locked to more satellites than my 60cs, and he zeroed in on the cache location first. Thanks!

Locust Shade Limbo

By: Three Boys a Caching Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Regular

We were hiking up the road, so this one was a slog up the steep slope from the road. dclendenin spotted it quickly after figuring out the right area. Thanks!

AMP'd

By: RES414CUE Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

After wasting my time looking in an area that I thought would be a cool hide, I finally tried another area and spotted the cache right off. dclendenin and I happened onto this nice park because of the number caches here. Thanks!

Mini-Junior

By: the girls and I Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

The cache site is not amenable to precise GPS readings, so we just looked around the area for a likely spot. My hand found it with a swipe of the right spot. Thanks!

Crucifix

By: the girls and I Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

I spotted some velcro with no cache on it, so I was ready to hit the road. My caching partner was more persistent and poked around until he found a little different type of hide. Thanks!

Carl Lewis

By: the girls and I Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

The woods were a little soggy in places, but dclendenin and I managed to find a way with little or no mud. No troubles finding the cache. Thanks!

JAG

By: Three Boys a Caching Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

Found this one with my hands since my eyes didn't spot it right off. Thanks!

Are We There Yet?

By: the girls and I Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

This was our last cache of the evening. After signing the log we headed over to Moe's Southwest Grill for some dinner. Thanks!

Lowes-addiction?

By: RES414CUE Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

Some of our finds today have been at up to 25 feet from our zero point, so we weren't very sure we were searching the right spot. The camo color of the cache was also a factor in our search time. Thanks!

4th Corner

By: Three Boys a Caching Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

My first Virginia cache, found with dclendenin after a late supper at Applebee's.

Saratoga Creek Poohsticks

By: SpinningCompass Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

After I made waffles and read the paper, I fired up the computer and saw this new cache nearby. I decided to hop on my bike and get a little Sunday morning exercise. I had to search a while for the cache, and my hands found it rather than my eyes, so I'm not sure it is back exactly how it was originally, but it will do. Nice craftsmanship!

Give The Dog A Bone

By: B & J Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

After hopping on my bike for a new cache in the area, I decided to extend my ride and go after this one. I noticed that Banana Slug Racing signed the plastic bag yesterday instead of the log. The log is still there, and in fine shape.

Mindego Bay

By: GoGoJo Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Regular

This was the cache I had the most trouble with on my hike this morning. The GPS reception was poor enough that my search radius was a hundred feet or so. I thought this particular tree was an oak. The leaves were so high and small that I didn't have any good evidence to the contrary. Found the cache anyway after a thorough search of the area.

Beyond Invasion

By: GoGoJo Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Regular

At first I didn't believe my GPSr. I pulled out the PDA and read about the cache, and yes, it really was off the road. I carefully stepped around the new green arms of poison oak in my path, and made it to the cache. I left Bytemobile turtle #409. Thanks!

Laurel Forest

By: GoGoJo Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Regular

No problems with this cache. Good GPS reception, and no need to pull out the PDA. I probably should have saved it though, for a break on the hike back up. Thanks!

Mindego Hill Dolphin Nest

By: ChipnDonna Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 3.5 Container: Small

I just before I got to the cache, I met a big bearded fellow coming up the road on his ATV. I waved and he said "Good morning" as he passed. He must have been one of the brothers that live on Mindego Ranch. I was a guest of a co-worker who was renting a trailer on Mindego Ranch many years ago. We must have come up this road to visit, but it looks a little different on foot. I found the cache without too much trouble. Thanks!

Arborock

By: PisoMojado Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Regular

This was my last cache of the morning, after a hike over toward Mindego Hill. After finding the cache, I took the small path over the hill back toward the pullout along Alpine Road. The top of that hill really has a nice 360 degree view. Thanks!

The Fabulous Furry Fir

By: PurplePeople Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Regular

I was just about to pull out the PDA and look for a hint when I got the right angle on the cache and spotted it. This was my first find in almost three months. My wife has had her new yarn shop in downtown Campbell open now for a couple weeks, this was a Friday off from my job, and my to-do list was relatively short, so I decided it was time for a hike. I left Bytemobile turtle #408.

Bay Refuge

By: GoGoJo Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Regular

Beautiful spot on a beautiful, solitary morning. Thanks!

Virus Bravo Nine

By: British Invasion Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Small

This was my first hike in about three months. Nice to be out on the trail on a beautiful morning finding caches. Thanks!
