Toad in the Hole

By: zapboy Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Small

I was 37 degrees when I headed out this morning, but I was cozy with the stocking cap and fancy gloves I got for Christmas. I had stopped by the LT-01 trailhead before, but this was my first hike from there. I poked around in the wrong hole first, but soon found the one with the cache. Thanks!

New PMT #4

By: ChipnDonna Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Small

The hint was crucial for me here since I didn't see an obvious hiding spot. The first person I saw this morning was a trail runner that passed by here as I was reading the description and hint. After finding the cache, I read the sign over a couple times to make sure I wasn't going to be considered a trespasser on Palo Alto's private playground, then proceeded into Foothill Park.

Wild Horse Valley View

By: ChipnDonna Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 3.5 Container: Small

I came from LT-01, and decided to turn around here. I wanted to get home by noon, so I took the fire road from here straight up the hill. I didn't have a map, but the fire road seemed to go where I wanted to go, and it worked out well. I left Bytemobile turtle #400.

New PMT #2

By: ChipnDonna Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Small

My GPSr had enough signal to get me to the right area, but it was wandering and I was wandering until I read the hint. Thanks!

LT Trail

By: ChipnDonna Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Small

This was my original turn-around point to head back to LT-01 and it was at the edge of the paper map I printed out. However I noticed that there was another cache that was less than 0.7 miles from here (as the crow flies!) so I decided to head on down the trail.

New PMT #1

By: ChipnDonna Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Small

The new trail could have been a bit muddy today, but it was frozen solid this morning. I set out from LT-01 for my first hike on the new PMT. Thanks!

Bay to Ridge Trail #1

By: ChipnDonna Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 3.5 Container: Small

I think I was #8 on the log, so some folks are finding this by accident, or just not logging online. The cache was jammed in pretty hard so it took me a while to extract it. I didn't have a map of the Foothill park trails, so the signage here was a little confusing. It looked like I could return the way I came in 3 hours, or take the other fork and it would take 1 hour. I saw that there was another cache just 0.44 miles away (as the crow flies!) so I headed on down the trail.

New PMT #3

By: ChipnDonna Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Small

That is an oak that has been around awhile and has a lot of character. I decided to pull out the camera and shoot a picture.

Fairie Ring

By: ChipnDonna Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Small

The weather was cool this morning, but the views were incredible. I didn't see a Fairie, but spotted the hiding spot for the cache as I walked up.

I Pack a Chainsaw: The Big Deep

By: Wu-dan Cupoda Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 4.0 Container: Micro

My two sons were home for Christmas, so I planned this cache and a couple others for a little adventure. I brought along a rope, but no other climbing gear, and was very glad I had the rope. Getting to the cache was quite an adventure, chainsaw and all. We almost gave up on finding the cache, but my son found it in a last ditch effort. We took a little detour up the rabbit hole, but I was convinced that all those bushes without any leaves were poison oak, so back down the rabbit hole we went. All in all, a cool time. Thanks!

Thru Two Tunnels

By: 50sumtin Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Small

Both sons were home for Christmas, so I planned a little geocaching adventure for us. We had a couple sets of wader boots but they weren't that much of an advantage. I think both sons had water on their jeans and in the boots before we were into the first tunnel. I went with shorts and water shoes. Thanks for setting this up. Great fun!

Jack Jump Over

By: rosmo Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Small

I printed this out before heading up for a little 49er tailgating today. I figured it out just about 20 minutes before we were going to head into the game, and the cache turned out to be just a short hike from our car. Thanks for the puzzle!

Candlestick Point

By: WalruZ Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

I was doing a little tailgating with my two sons before the 49ers game today. This proved to be a nice little hike from our car in an area I hadn't visited before. Thanks!

West Toe

By: WalruZ (with thanks to Kindergarten Teacher) Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Regular

I had no problem picking up the trail after looking for Bay Area Multiple Hills. It was a bit frosty up here this morning, but by now I wished that I had left my heavy jacket in the car. I left Bytemobile turtle #399 and the Cinderella travel bug. Thanks!

Sunday Trail Walk

By: rosmo Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Micro

I got up here early this morning. The temperature was 37 when I left home, but was up to a toasty 43 when I started hiking. I saw a little ice/frost on the trail as I started out. No problem spotting the cache. Thanks!

San Bruno Mountain

By: Oleg, Marianna, Dennis Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular

It is always nice to find a cache with a three digit waypoint and a great view. It was frosty when I started out this morning, but I was wishing that I had left my heavy jacket in the car by now. I left Bytemobile turtle #398, left Pete's Dollar travel bug, and took Cinderella travel bug.

Saturday in the park

By: geotap and skwerlie Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Small

I had a look for this before I started my hike this morning and came up empty. As I was coming back, I thought of a logical area that I had not fully checked, and found the cache in the first place I looked. Thanks!

Vee Tree

By: The Un-cachers Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 3.5 Container: Regular

My GPSr had me going up and down the trail here, and I wasn't immediately drawn to a particular tree by the cache title. I finally wandered around, searched, and found the cache.

Another End of Alpine Road

By: The Un-cachers Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

This was my starting point for a bike ride this morning (actually I parked in a lot up on Skyline). I had never been on this trail/road before. The cache density caught my eye as I looked for a hike or a ride yesterday. No problem spotting the cache. Thanks!

Virus Bravo Ten

By: TeamOttlet Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Small

I took a short detour from my bike ride down and up Alpine Rd. to grab this cache. It's a nice area, and it was worthwhile coming over. Thanks!

Romancing the Stone

By: The Un-cachers Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Small

I saw "Romancing the Stone", but it has been so long that I don't remember much. The cache was cute and nicely hidden. Thanks!

Bouquet #3

By: The Un-cachers Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Small

Wow, the bouquet of the cache contents was quite strong. I picked this up on the ride down. I probably should have waited so I could have a break on the ride back up. I took the NightKnight sigitem and left Bytemobile turtle #397. Thanks!

Ode to Bullit

By: The Un-cachers Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Micro

This was a quick stop on the ride down. I have found 86 Bullit caches, so I consider myself a connoisseur. Thanks!

Tree of Heaven

By: The Un-cachers Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Small

I skipped this on the ride down, so it made a nice stop on the way back up. Thanks!

Solitude

By: The Un-cachers Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Small

This was one of the few stretches of trail where I someone this morning. Someone and his two dogs. Found the cache quickly with the hint. Thanks!

Fight Back

By: The Un-cachers Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Not chosen

I found this one before stopping to read the description or look for a hint. I decided to take the travel bug since it had been here a while and was kind of filling the cache.

The End of Alpine Road

By: crawburr Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

This was my turn-around point for my bike ride down from Page Mill Rd. I skipped a couple caches on the way down so I would have breaks on the way back up. No problems finding the cache. Thanks!

Trailside Post

By: The Un-cachers Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Small

I stopped in exactly the right spot, but looked for the wrong thing. I looked around a little bit, then read the hint, and the cache magically appeared. Thanks!

Follow the Tags

By: The Un-cachers Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Small

I didn't spot any tag near the start of the trail, so I headed down, looking for tags. I spotted the cache before I found any tags, then saw one tag on my way out. Well, that was a little different anyway. Thanks!

Trailside Trunk

By: The Un-cachers Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Small

I looked around a little bit, then resorted to the hint, and found the cache immediately. The coordinates were very close for me. Thanks!

Near the Top

By: batch218 Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Micro

The traffic was quite heavy on the trail this morning, which I don't understand. This is not my favorite trail, although I've been on it a few times. I needed the hint to spot the cache. Thanks!

Bay Area

By: javawriter Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular

I wandered a little bit here, but eventually zeroed in on the nicely hidden cache. Thanks!

Somewhere within an Ammo Box

By: catomcat Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Not chosen

I found a little spot on the log to sign, but I don't think anyone else can legibly sign, since it is pretty well covered with signatures. Thanks!

Bob wire

By: javawriter Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

A flock of wild turkeys was crossing the road near here, so I took a couple pictures, then read the description and hint and spotted the cache.

Baby-liter bottle 1: jogger portal

By: javawriter Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

This was my second stop this morning. When I started caching here about three years ago, people used to claim in their logs that they had now found all the caches in the park. I think that sort of claim is quickly out-of-date here. Thanks!

Winded

By: javawriter Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Small

I headed farther away from the trail than I needed to, but that enabled me to spot the cache from a distance. Thanks!

Somewhere: Virus Bravo Eight

By: catomcat Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Micro

My GPSr was wandering, so I ended up wandering up and down the trail a bit. I spotted the hiding spot fairly early on, but failed to investigate enough until the second pass. Lots of folks heading up and down the trail this morning.

Baby 2-liter bottle 2: bay shade

By: javawriter Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Micro

I zeroed in on this one quickly, and found it before reading the description or hint. The cache still has its natural cover.

Baby 2-liter bottle (2): high road, low road

By: javawriter Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

This was my first visit to Rancho San Antonio in many months. It was about 38 degrees at 8 am, but that didn't discourage the hikers and joggers who had nearly filled the parking log. Thanks!

Muggle Junction

By: javawriter Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Micro

This cache is well named. There was hardly a break in the stream of traffic on the trail while I was there. Luckily, I had found Bob Wire earlier, so I knew where this one would be. Thanks!

Different approaches

By: javawriter Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

I read the description a couple times, followed the directions, reached in, and couldn't find it. [edit: Based on private communications with javawriter, I did not look in the right spot, so it's probably still there.]

Unnatural

By: javawriter Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

I don't think I've ever known an Edna. I missed the unnatural object on the first pass, but spotted it after a short search. Thanks!

Elevation 2464

By: MotorBug Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

After I finished up my Castle Rock hikes, I headed home via Black Rd. and made a stop here. I wasn't here long, but a dozen cars probably went by in the meanwhile. Lots of Christmas tree traffic by here today. Thanks!

County Line - Santa Clara

By: TnL Crew and In Honor of 50sumtin Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular

This cache was my first order of business this morning. The trail was pleasant, but the air was quite brisk. No problem finding the cache, after I made a detour back to my vehicle to retrieve the coordinates. I wonder how close this is to the county line, since the boundary seems to follow Skyline Blvd. quite closely.

X-6: Sanborn Reborn (Nazgul Secret Trailhead #10)

By: Nazgul Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

After a couple hikes at Castle Rock, I headed down Black Rd for a couple more caches. Lots of Christmas tree traffic today! The color of the cache container blended so well with its surroundings that it was hard to spot, but the hint zeros in the area quite well. Thanks!

The Peak

By: 50sumtin Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Small

Wow, that's some patch job. I bet they don't do that sort of thing any more. I left my hiking sticks in the truck since the hike was fairly short, but half way up the hill, I was wishing for them. Thanks!

haiku2

By: Haiku2 Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular

I came down from the Ridge trail to find this cache. Not a bad morning for hiking -- cool and sunny. Thanks!

Nondescript Vista

By: UV980 & nedsan Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Regular

Not so very non-descript, but lots of trees and terrain to see from here. I think this was my first hike on this trail, though I have been coming to this park on and off for over 25 years. Thanks!

Brief

By: zapboy Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Small

I was tempted by the Java ornament since I have been doing a lot of Java coding lately, but decided to pass and just signed the log. Thanks!

Three Cheers

By: zapboy Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Regular

This was my first hike on this trail, and it is quite a nice one. I have gone up and down the service road to get to the campground, but this is a much more pleasant route. Found the cache in the second place I looked.

Castle Rock

By: 50sumtin Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular

This cache is in an excellent spot, well hidden and away from the main centers of activity up here. There were several groups in the area late this morning, but no problems searching for the cache. Thanks!

Party Favor

By: zapboy Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

At 8 am it was about 45 degrees here. I was anxious to start hiking and warm up, but wanted to find this cache first. The coordinates were right on for me. If I had read the hint right off, I would have spotted the cache right off, but I ended up checking all the usual trailhead hiding places first. I was first to sign on the brand new log. Thanks!

Nancy's Spot

By: Sharkz Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Small

Quite a nice spot this morning. I planned a hike through the park to pick up a number of caches that have accumulated since my last visit, and this one worked out nicely. Thanks!

Mount Doom!

By: 50sumtin Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Regular

I planned a route through the park to pick up several caches that have accumulated since my last visit. That route involved approaching from below, and that worked out fine. Nice view of Mt. Doom from here. Thanks!

Lion Cave?

By: zapboy Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Regular

I had a look around before reading the hint, and didn't have any success. I read the hint, then ended up finding the cache before spotting the cave, so it was probably luck. Thanks!

Since I was in Woodland for Thanksgiving, I decided to make time for my first Yolo County caches. Thanks!

yuba college #4

By: retiredprof Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

The first thing I found was a tiny, powerful magnet, so I thought maybe, the cache was gone, but then I read the logs and found the new container. Thanks!

Goin' on a Bear Hunt

By: hotshoe Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Small

I left my bike up on the Coyote Ridge Trail and hiked down since I didn't want to push the bike back up. I was surprised to see a runner puffing up the hill just before I got to the cache. Thanks!

Bearly Visible

By: Travieso Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular

This is the third Saturday that I've ridden one of the trails in Santa Clara County Parks' "Healthy Trails" booklet. This one starts at the Mendoza Ranch entrance and goes the full length of the Coyote Ridge Trail and back. This was a quick breather along the way. Thanks!

Harvey Coyote

By: hotshoe Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Small

This is the third Saturday that I've ridden one of the trails in Santa Clara County Parks' "Healthy Trails" booklet. This one starts at the Mendoza Ranch entrance and goes the full length of the Coyote Ridge Trail and back. This cache is about a quarter mile before the turn-around point at Harvey Bear Trail. I started looking for the cache, then decided to peek at the hint, which made it much easier. Otherwise, I probably would have moved half the pile before finding it. Thanks!

Coyote Waits (Nazgul Secret Trailhead #7)

By: Nazgul Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

This was evidently too tricky for me. I finally gave up and headed back to the Mendoza Ranch entrance for my bike ride.

Cache For Fun

By: Rocket Girl Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

Ha! This took me a while to spot, then I had my fun. Thanks!

a ROUND Up and Under

By: Rocket Girl Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

This one took me a while, but that is appropriate for a three-star. I spent a lot of time examining the wrong spots. The cache is a good fit to the title. Thanks!

Caught in a Tree

By: Rocket Girl Difficulty: 3.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Other

I decided to take a break at lunchtime and catch up on some caching close to work. The hint was quite helpful for me, and I managed to spot the creative cache after a few minutes of searching. Thanks!

Tick-Tock Bus Stop

By: runnerinwoods Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Micro

I decided to go out at lunchtime and pick up some of the caches that have accumulated near my work. This was the first stop. I guess I was lucky on this one. I didn't spot it, but my hands found it right off. Thanks!

Holed Up There

By: CKayaks Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 3.5 Container: Micro

I was out on a Venona activity this morning, and this was a good spot for my first stop. I was huffing a puffing pretty good, and was about ready to get off my bike and start pushing anyway. Thanks!

El Sombroso Junction

By: CKayaks Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 3.5 Container: Regular

I came up here to examine this cache for a Venona clue. At first, I didn't spot anything of interest. I examined every scrap of paper for secret writing with a UV flashlight. I photographed every item in the cache. Finally when I was taking pictures of the cache container itself, I spotted a piece of black electrical tape on the inside. There was a keyword on the other side of the tape. I removed the tape and keyword and took it with me. I left all the other goodies in the cache. Thanks!

River Runs Through it

By: Mystery Ink Difficulty: 4.0 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Micro

I was in a hurry on my way in, but decided to stop here on my way out. Even though it rained last night, the creek was nearly dry, so going after this was not very hazardous. I wrote "Byte" in a little spot near someone else's name. Thanks!

Sweet Sounds Of Water

By: CKayaks Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 3.5 Container: Small

About 400 feet before reaching this cache, I noticed that my rear tire was flat. That surprised me because the big knobby tires seem much more immune to thorns that the skinny-tired street bike that I used to have. But it was indeed a thorn, and fortunately I had everything I needed to get back on the road. No problems spotting the cache. Thanks!

Shady Coyotes

By: STP Ron Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

I was out for my second "Healthy Trails" ride this morning. I had a look for stage 1 a year ago with no luck. It turns out I was looking on the wrong side of the trail. My GPSr didn't get much closer than about 30 ft at stage 2, but I found it easy enough, and zipped though the other stages. Thanks!

The Bridges of Coy-O-Te

By: Team Nazgul Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

I headed out this morning to ride the Coyote Creek Trail, which was my first trail in the Santa Clara County Parks "Healthy Trails" program. Before leaving, I remembered that I had some unfinished caching business along this trail from a couple years ago. I retrieved my solution to this cache from my never-fail filing system (toss it on the desk). I headed straight for the final, and spotted the cache with no difficulty. I wonder what my problem was last time. Thanks!

Trail's End South - The Coyote Creek Trail

By: STP Ron Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

I set out this morning to ride the Coyote Creek Trail. It was my first trail for the Santa Clara County Parks "Healthy Trails" program. Before hopping on my bike, I had a look for this cache, of course. Thanks!

Duck, Duck, Goose

By: FlyDog and Little Kid Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Small

I left my pack in my vehicle, and the GPSr was complaining about low batteries. I left it off until I thought I was in the right area, and was about 400 feet way when I turned it back on. The batteries held, and I spotted the cache right away. Thanks!

Charge It

By: TLHarrell Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

I headed down here early this morning to go for a bike ride on the Coyote Creek Trail, and decided to pick up a couple caches before I started. I looked at this one in Google Earth before I left. The exact spot it showed didn't look too likely, so I didn't bother with the GPSr. The hint was quite helpful, though. Thanks!

I had previously ridden pieces of the Coyote Creek Trail to do some geocaching, but today I rode a continuous stretch from Malaguerra Ave. north to Metcalf Rd. and back, and was able to put all those pieces together. Geokashers was right when he said the Forest Preserves geocoin was a tight fit. The shoulder of the bottle made the extraction a bit difficult. Once I got it out, I decided to move it along to another cache. Thanks!

Trail to Nowhere: Coyote Creek Parkway

I decided to take a little detour for this cache on my ride along the Coyote Creek Trail. I had to resort to the hint to find the first stage, but after that, it was smooth sailing. Thanks!

I like to go after the oldies whenever I can, and this one certainly qualifies. I wasn't expecting the terrain to be quite so steep. I probably should have peeked at a topo map. Thanks!

I was out here before 8am, and was surprised at the huge number of boaters on the lake already. I was worried about the GPSr since it was complaining about low batteries, but it held out long enough for me to spot the cache. Thanks!

The Ridge

I was lucky that there was one space left, big enough for the big pickup I was driving. The hint was very helpful, but I thought it was gone. Finally, my hand found it, then my eyes. Thanks!

Milagra Ridge View

By: evanhk Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Virtual

This was my first visit to Milagra Ridge, and I was lucky to find one parking spot open, just big enough for the pickup I was driving. The views today were not great -- mostly a lot of fog, but it was an interesting spot nonetheless. Thanks!

This cache took me two visits and two trips from California. My second trip is about to come to an end, so I headed out for a little caching before I departed. I had the right coordinates for the second stage last time, but couldn't spot the micro. This time, I got the right angle and spotted it. The final was also nicely done. Thanks!

I think this could be called a puzzle just as well as a multicache. I had the local caches loaded up on my PDA and GPS for my trip from California. We sat at the first waypoint and puzzled things out. Near the cache site we flushed a couple of jack rabbits, and were amazed at their speed. The LIA grounds crew were the previous signers on the log sheet. Thanks!

Remodeled Barbershop

By: Koolrat Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Small

I checked out www.fortordpubliclands.org to help plan my first visit here. The web site says "Public access is available at: * BLM Office (near old Fort Ord Training Range 39) Water is available here. Port-A-Potty here." So I set my GPS for the BLM office and drove there without encountering any barricades or half closed gates. That location didn't look very inviting for a trailhead, and there were no signs advising otherwise, so I drove on the the trailhead near this cache and parked there. There was a big Fort Ord Public Lands sign inviting all trail users, so I parked, unloaded the bike and did a bunch of geocaching. The warnings on all the cache descriptions were confusing to me because I had seen no signage prohibiting me from driving or parking. Anyway, I finally got worried and headed back here, and didn't find a ticket. Later, I encountered a BLM employee who said that they should have barricades on the back route I took, so I just got lucky. Thanks for the cache!

The family was camped at Sunset Beach this weekend. I got up before everyone else and took a bike ride over here. The old Shell Rd connects up with the beach parking lot at Sunset, but it is an overgrown one-track in places, that probably isn't very passable in wet weather. It was fine for my bike today, though. No problem finding the cache. Thanks!

Wirebndr and I set out from the Sunset State Beach campground this morning where he & Mrs. Wirebndr are camphosts. We pulled off Highway 1 here around 10 am and found the gate locked. The place didn't look too inviting, but we could see the structures pictured on the cache page, and considered going around the gate and hiking in. About that time, a fellow drove out the driveway, unlocked the gate, and invited us in. No troubles finding the cache. Thanks!

Welcome to Nevada (or California)

By: byjer Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

We were heading from Susanville to Truckee today on the next-to-last leg of our vacation through northern California. Before we started, I had a look at a map and saw that we were going through a little slice of Sierra County. I wondered if there was a cache in the county along our route, and this turned up. It seems to be a popular one lately for folks from the Bay Area. I was pulling a long travel trailer, and found just enough room along the side of the frontage road to park near the cache. No problems finding it. Thanks!

Skull Cache

By: ChrissySkyking + Blaze Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Virtual

We drove up for the day from where we were camped at Eagle Lake. We visited all the caves mentioned in the cache description (Valentine, Mushpot, Skull Cave, Catacombs, and Merrill) plus Golden Dome. We didn't bring our sweatshirts into Skull, which was OK, but some gloves would have been nice since our hands were very cold on the metal handrails. This cache was probably much more interesting when you could go out on the ice floor. From the viewing platform we were able to see a couple small patches of ice. We enjoyed the caves today, and we learned how easy it is to become disoriented in a cave. Thanks!

This cache served as a very handy waypoint for us today. We were headed from Quincy to Eagle Lake, and had heard about this bike trail from a yarn shop owner in Chico a couple days ago. Mrs. Bytemobile and I met on a bike ride, and today was our 29th anniversary. We only rode about half the trail, but we had some great views and got some pictures of some young ospreys hollering "Feed me, feed me" from their nests atop some tall pine trees. Thanks!

We visited the park today on a day trip from Quincy. I wish I had gathered some information on the roads and trails before I set out from the campground area because I wandered around a bit. I had a nice hike however, and tiptoed across a couple creeks on the rocks. It turns out I could have driven right up to the cache. I hope no one moves one of the items in the hint, because otherwise this would be a needle in a haystack hide. I used the hint, started my hunt in the right area, but it still took some effort. We left our travel trailer at an RV park in Quincy and set out for Portola this morning. This was our first stop. Even with the waypoint, we missed the entry point from Highway 70 and had to turn around. The road was a bit rough and narrow in spots, but we made it fine with our Ford F-250. We found the cache and took a few pictures, but gave up on waiting for a train. On our way home we stopped again, and saw the tail end of a train exiting the loop on the way up. Thanks!

We parked our travel trailer at the Pioneer RV park just down the street from the cache. After visiting the Plumas County Museum and a short hike around Quincy, we headed back to the trailer. I hiked down for the cache in the late afternoon, but the playground was busy, and I didn't want to look like a dirty old man skulking around. I came back after supper and waited a couple minutes until the last kid and his dad headed home. After that, I had amazing luck on this needle in a haystack hide, and laid hands on it right away. Mrs. Bytemobile and I were making our first trip up the Feather River Canyon today, pulling our travel trailer from Chico to Quincy. I had a couple years of Latin in high school (starting in 1965) and that was enough to decode the hint. We had lunch here, then headed on up the canyon. Thanks!

Mrs. Bytemobile and I pulled our travel trailer from Chico to Quincy today and made this stop along the way. Our GPSr took us about 50 feet too far down the trail, and we hunted around a bit, but finally checked out the right area and came up with the cache. Thanks!

Mrs. Bytemobile and I set off on a bike ride through the park this morning. We are on a travel trailer camping trip. This was the first cache we found. Mrs. B was the first to spot it. Thanks!

This was the turn-around point for our bike ride through the park this morning. I didn't read the cache description before hunting, and was surprised to find a micro. Thanks!

I read the two hints out loud, and both Mrs. Bytemobile and I spotted the cache from about 15 feet away. I left the cache covered a little better than we found it. Thanks!

CAR SALON

By: redvoodoo Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

We pulled into the nearby RV park late this afternoon. I biked over in the evening and several folks were sprucing up their cars on a Thursday evening. I found the cache without need to resort to the hint. My first Chico cache. Thanks!

I was out with Admiral Workerofwood and his kayak fleet today. This is the one cache I got to first and actually had to search for today. I admired the cache contents, but left it all for everyone to see. Thanks!

I was probably the last to sign the log today. Jasmerb passed it over, then closed up the cache after I signed. This turned out to be a great evening for paddling out here.

There was a traffic jam of kayaks when I made it to the cache. The log was eventually passed to me and I made my mark. Thanks!

In Memory of...

By: wendycat Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular

We were headed back to Half Moon Bay from a hike at El Corte Madera. Traffic was so heavy on 92 that I suggested to Wirebndr that he turn right from Skyline to 92, then get in the left turn lane, go to this cache, then make a right turn to HMB. That all worked out, except that a funeral procession started streaming by a minute or so after we got to the cache site. Thanks!

Banana Slug Falls

By: bullit Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Small

Wirebndr and I came up from where we were camped with our families at Half Moon Bay for a hike today. Half Moon Bay was socked in with heavy fog today, but it was beautiful up here. The description and hint was nice since the GPSr was reading about 120 ft at the cache site. Thanks!

DC-6 Resolution Crash Site

By: bullit Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Regular

We also were bothered by mosquitoes at the cache/crash site. A little further up the trail I commented to a biker that this was a tough trail, and he replied that mountain bikers live for single tracks like this. I left Bytemobile turtle #389. Thanks for the nice write-up!

Tree with a "V"

By: geekster Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Small

We came from Banana Slug Falls, and the GPSr had a poor lock as we passed the cache site with a reading no closer than a couple hundred feet. After turning around and coming from the other direction, the GPSr led us to the cache spot-on. I left Bytemobile turtle #388. Thanks!

Wirebndr was ticking off the contour lines as we hiked down to this point. I think he was worried that we would have to hike back up at some point. No problems finding the cache. Thanks!

KinQue's Happy Birthday

By: The Super Cool Losers Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

We are camped here through July 4th, with family in three different sites. The weather is surprisingly nice for HMB, although a bit windy. Wirebndr and I hiked over this afternoon and were able to find the cache before resorting to the hint. Thanks!

By: mjp303 Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

We came on a summer weekday, and the entrance station was manned, but Wirebndr claimed to be a senior, and we got in free. We probably had almost as much fun as the Webelos, hiking around and finding caches.

Wirebndr wasn't up for a big hike this morning, so I picked this area for some shorter hikes and views. It was a great day to be out here. Wirebndr made the find fairly quickly. We signed in the last two slots available on the log. Thanks!

Movie: GeoTales, Believe it or Not

By: GeoWomyn_SF_CA Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

We are camped at Half Moon Bay through the 4th, along with family in a couple more sites. I checked for new caches since our last visit to HMB, and was happy to see this one. I watched the movie a couple times while I was on the broadband connection at home and got the coordinates. Today, it was a nice little hike from the campground to grab the cache with Wirebndr. I left Bytemobile turtle #387. (I got the turtles at Twice As Nice in HMB.) Thanks!

Coyote Point

By: mjp303 Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

I read the cache description and hint from my PDA, and Wirebndr and I started scouring the ground for something of interest. It wasn't long before I spotted something worth picking up and examining. This was our first visit to this park, and it was a great day to be here (except the museum is closed on Mondays).

I was here a couple years ago and wandered around with no luck. I was tired from a long hike and it was getting late. This morning, I was here around 8 am, and had no trouble finding the cache. I picked up the Baker's Dozen hint and sat on the bench to plot where the final must be. Thanks!

Tales of Odysseus: Cyclops Polythemus

By: 50sumtin Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Regular

My Garmin basemap showed this cache well out in the water, so I double checked to make sure it was not a fake location. I also switched over to the Garmin topo map, and it had a coastline that showed the cache on dry land. Found the cache right off. Thanks!

Tales of Odysseus: Calypso, Sea Nymph

By: 50sumtin Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular

The cache was sitting out in the open, but was otherwise intact except some of the camo tape was loose. Maybe a dog dragged it out? I just shoved it under the closest bush, so it has probably migrated from the original hide, but I see Kealia has found it already.

Tales of Odysseus: The Trojan Horse

By: 50sumtin Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular

I had not planned to start this odyssey today, but this looked like an interesting spot, so I stopped and hiked over to the cache. It took a bit of hunting around to find the cache, but it was perfectly visible from the right angle.

Tales of Odysseus: The Return of the King

By: 50sumtin Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Regular

I don't include puzzle caches in my personal queries, so I don't have them on my PDA. I started finding caches in this series today, and ended up finding them all. They had all the information I needed to find the final, so I did the whole deal in one beautiful day. I really enjoyed this series because it took me to lots of spots along the coast that I had not visited before. The final location was a classic spot for a geocache. Thanks for the adventure!

Tales of Odysseus: Circe, Witch Goddess

By: 50sumtin Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Small

I was beginning to enjoy this quest. The coordinates are all spot on because of the great view of the sky, and the locations are nice little hikes to spots new to me along the beautiful coast. Thanks!

Davenport Landing

By: 50sumtin Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

I had been here a couple times before -- once on a whale-watching kayak trip. A spotter on the bluff radioed our leader when he spotted a whale, and we paddled in that direction. However when we got there, the whale had gone in the direction we came from, so we paddled back. The exciting part was launching our kayak into the waves from the beach. No problems finding the cache. Thanks!

50sumtin's Big Basin Park HQ to Sea Baker's Dozen!

By: 50sumtin Difficulty: 4.0 Terrain: 4.0 Container: Small

I found the final this morning after three separate expeditions to find the caches. I had to guess one of the numbers since I missed the Timms Creek cache. I had a problem with my PDA that day, and had only the coordinates. For most of the time I had zero, one, or two-satellite coverage, and was up and down the trails all over the place looking for the cache. The cache owner has granted me dispensation for missing the cache, but I will definitely try to find it the next time I am hiking in the area.

Baldercache

By: 50sumtin Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular

The last time I passed this cache, my son and I were pedaling pretty fast on our way out since it was getting late. I came back for the Baker's Dozen hint. Found the cache after a brief search. Thanks!

Horse Camp Cache

By: 50sumtin Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

I got an early start from where we were camped at Seacliff SB and was here about 7:30 am. I had no luck in the first several places I looked so I read the hint. The hint proved to be more for entertainment value, and I finally found the cache after a more thorough search of the area. The cap is missing from the cache, but this won't be a problem for several months.

This was the last cache in the series for me. I hadn't planned this out or studied where the caches were located. I just started finding them as I headed south from Waddell Beach. I expected that the final would be well out of my way, but I was surprised here when I figured out its location.

I was using a personal query that I got a few days ago when this was still enabled. I thought the cache was perfectly fine as caches go. The log book was damp, but Wirebndr and I had no trouble signing. We were just starting a big loop hike through Pogonip. Thanks!

Gateway to....

I hiked over to this one early this morning. As I approached the gateway, a big group of cyclists rode up and turned into the gateway. Up until that point, I thought it was a private entrance. I thought the cycling group was unusual -- no tight pants and colorful shirts. They dressed about how I would to go for a bike ride. Finding the nearby Letterbox was a piece of cake. This one took a bit longer. I finally understood the hint after I found the cache. Thanks!

Franciscan Complex - Fossils and Ash

By: cmilono Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 3.5 Container: Not chosen

I wondered why all the cars were parked in the Thornton Beach lot this early on a foggy Sunday morning. I found the zigzag route to the Old One, and on the way spotted a route to the beach. I turns out that cars in the lot probably belonged to the several fishermen on the beach, and I used some of their ropes to help myself up and down the path to the beach. The sand was wet around ground zero for the cache site, but the water was well away from it at 9 am this morning. The hike here was quite interesting, and the geology lesson a bonus.

This Should Be WalruZ's Cache

By: Kindergarten Teacher Difficulty: 3.5 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Micro

The fog was so thick this morning, I was worried that I wouldn't be able to spot the entrance to Thornton Beach Vista. We were camped at the SF RV Resort in Pacifica, so it was a short trip. Spotted the cache in the third place I looked. Thanks!

Old One

By: jef Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 3.5 Container: Regular

The fog was quite dense this morning, so I was a little leery of searching out trails when I couldn't see very far. I ended up making all the right choices and made it through the zigzag path to this cache. I didn't have much trouble finding the cache, but I thought the coordinates could be improved to minimize tromping around the area. I had nine or ten satellites, with WAAS, so the coordinates should be pretty good. I left Bytemobile turtle #380. Thanks!

By: Kindergarten Teacher Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Micro

Well I didn't find it in the dark, but very close to it. We parked our travel trailer at the SF RV resort next door, had dinner, and watched the sun dip into the ocean. I think a geocaching notice was missing from the cache. Thanks!

I was headed home, but could resist stopping for another cache. My GPSr thought I was a couple hundred feet from the cache, but it turns out that I parked right next to it. Thanks!

I came to Portola Valley today for some cache maintenance, and decided to make a loop on up to Skyline and back home. My bicycling skills are more oriented toward level courses, so this was a drive for me. It turned out to be pretty straight-forward, with an intermission for the Top of Old La Honda cache. Thanks!

I was headed to Portola Valley for some cache maintenance, and made a quick stop here for the cache. Thanks!

What a great view

By: Mystery Ink Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 4.0 Container: Small

Hotshoe and I met at Bell Station at 7:30am and started up County Line Rd at 8:15, so we did the hard part early. We met several groups of hikers on the way down, including budd-rdc and atc. I left Bytemobile turtle #370. Thanks!

Dowdy Ranch

By: bullit Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 3.5 Container: Micro

Cache finding is a full sensory experience -- you have to use your hands as well as your eyes and brains. I just let my hands do the work here. We took a tour of the Dowdy Ranch facilities, and it looks like a great place for a group picnic.

Bay Area Calibration Point #3

By: bullit Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

I was headed out from Backcountry Weekend, and saw a geocacher near the benchmark. It was Itleelim, and he was just putting the cache back, and he was headed in for some camping. 1. N37 02.314 W 121 18.667

Casa de Farma

By: surveng/CJ Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Regular

Hotshoe said she was headed over here after we finished up at Henry Coe. I did Bullit's Bay Area Calibration Point, then came on over. I finished a cold drink while Hotshoe did the heavy lifting, and spotted the cache. Gee, this is easy!

Mustang Peak

By: bullit Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 5.0 Container: Regular

Hotshoe and I cruised right up here. We were at the benchmark, enjoying the view exactly two hours after we started from the corner of Kaiser-Aetna and County Line Rd, and we got back down in an hour and a half. We found the right way up with very little effort -- we turned at the Mustang Canyon sign. I left a GBA fault line co in and took a GBA Coin Club, Spring 2006 coin. (There were two here).

Hole in the Rock

By: Team Nazgul Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 4.0 Container: Regular

The swimming hole was quite busy today. This is the sort of thing that geocaching is great for -- finding spots that you otherwise wouldn't know about. I tried to get a photo of one of the kids jumping off the rock, but they were busy with other stuff when I was ready with my camera. Thanks!

Casa de Onramp

By: gsmx2 Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

I followed Hotshoe over here from Casa de Farma, and she had the cache in a flash. This was the last cache of the day for both of us after our hike in Henry Coe. The logbook could probably use a staple since all the pages are falling out. Thanks!

Tour de Dowdy

By: alpharomero.com Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 3.5 Container: Micro

I was on my own tour, heading over one fence too far as Hotshoe zeroed in on the cache. My GPSr finally started zeroing in, and I did too shortly after Hotshoe found the cache.

Spanish Moss

By: alpharomero.com Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 3.5 Container: Small

If we had turned left instead of right when we got to the oak with the Spanish moss, we could have avoided most of the poison oak, but approaching the cache, there is a huge bush on the right to beware of. The stuff is very prolific in this area. I left Bytemobile turtle #373.

Dont Blink

By: Mystery Ink Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 4.0 Container: Regular

The folks manning the checkpoint here for Backcountry Weekend must have thought we were slightly deranged. We checked the bushes along the road pretty thoroughly -- both high and low, and even checked all those we could down slope a bit. No luck.

The hard part is done!

By: alpharomero.com Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 3.5 Container: Regular

There was very little traffic as we were heading out in the early afternoon. No problem parking near the cache. Hotshoe was the first to spot it as I circled around behind the tree. I left Bytemobile turtle #374. Thanks!

No water for you!

By: alpharomero.com Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 3.5 Container: Micro

Stopped here with Hotshoe, heading out from Backcountry Weekend. We must have spooked the swallows living under the overpass, because they were all swooping around as we signed the cache.

Bad Luck

By: zapboy Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

I decided that Friday the 13th would be an excellent day to search for this cache. I had bad luck at first, then walked a short distance back toward my car and turned around and tried again with a fresh approach. Thanks!

The Tomb of Anubis

By: The Acquisitor Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

I decided to do a little lunchtime caching, and this was one of the closest to work. Nice idea for a cache! I took nothing and left Bytemobile turtle #369.

Fun in the Sun(land)

By: krabaple and Scorpion King Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

I haven't been caching much lately but decided to pick a couple up on the way home from work. This was the cache closest to home. It took some looking around to find it, but I finally spotted it. Thanks!

Somewhere Smiling and Hanging On

By: catomcat Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

I went out lunchtime caching today for the first time in many months. I didn't have to read the cache description or hint -- I had listened to dclendenin describe his unsuccessful search one day at work. I spotted the cache as I walked up. The smiles are quite visible. Thanks!

An Acre of Dirt

By: L-grl Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

I did some lunchtime caching today for the first time in months. The gardens look like they are in great shape, with lots of stuff growing already. I left Bytemobile turtle #368 and took GeoTales card #2. Thanks!

Everything's coming up Milhouse

By: Mr_BKK Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Small

I haven't been caching much, but decided to come by for this one on my way home from work. No problems spotting it. It could probably use a little note on the outside that it is a geocache for accidental finders. You can rate your cache in detail for handicapped cachers at handicaching.com.

Oreo Cache

By: redkat and pb144 Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

I decided to go caching at lunchtime for the first time in months. This was the closest cache to work, so I went for it. The hint is not precisely right any more, but got me close enough to to find the cache after a short search. Thanks!

Maiden Voyage

By: Pawnee Alumni Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Regular

I turned on my PDA to read about this cache and discovered that it had reset and cleared out Cachemate. Fortunately, we had no trouble spotting the cache. I left bytemobile turtle #365.

Waddell Beach

By: 50sumtin Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

Found this at the end of a bike ride up toward Berry Creek Falls. I didn't have the cache description, but looked around a bit and spotted it.

A Crossing Place Cache

By: 50sumtin Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Regular

I discovered that my PDA had reset and Cachemate was gone, so this trip was by coordinates alone. Fortunately, this was an easy find. I thought the first aid kit and screwdriver in the cache were nice touches. I left bytemobile turtle #366.

Waddell Creek Cache

By: Noelle and David Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular

I found this cache two years ago. Today I came by to get a clue for 50sumtin's Baker's Dozen cache. The cache has migrated about three feet since my last find, and it is probably easier to spot now.

Berry Creek Falls

By: 50sumtin Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Regular

I didn't have a cache description with me since my PDA cleared itself out. My Garmin 60cs could see only two satellites, even though I hiked up the trail trying to get a lock, so it was no help at all. The only thing that saved the day was that I had found the older cache, and thought this one might be nearby. We passed it by the first time, but spotted it after we turned around and headed back down the trail.

Where have all the flowers gone?

By: WalruZ Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

I have been doing some major remodeling work at home since Christmas, so I have not been caching much. I heard from dclendenin that this one was a short walk from our company's front door, so it didn't take much time or gas. I knew this spot would get a geocache sooner or later. Now, at least I will be on Boulter's list for another month. Thanks!

Haliaeetus leucocephalus

By: aerospacecase Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

This cache was just a short walk down the street, so Mrs. Bytemobile and I had a look for it. Nobody was around this Sunday morning, and we had no trouble spotting it right off. Thanks!

Needle in a Stack of Needles

By: AllenFamilyCachers Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Micro

Mrs. Bytemobile had a little extra time this morning, so we stopped by to look for this one. I missed it on the first pass, but got it the second time around. Thanks!

See Birds

By: MightyDee Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

Mrs. Bytemobile pulled out here to look for some birds, and I saw there a cache nearby, so we went for it. Thanks!

Forever Nameless

By: Team Perks, Mopar, and Geo Ho Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Regular

I think this is the first ammo box I ran into on my hike up the canyon this morning. I wish I had remembered that I had a bag of my sigitems along, however, I TNLN. Thanks!

Sibling Rivalry

By: TRUROKR Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

This was a quick find on my long trek up the canyon this morning. I had a look at the travel bugs, but decided that I wouldn't be doing much caching when I got home since I am in the middle of some major remodeling work. Thanks!

Suspicious Bush Cache

By: campyc Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Regular

I headed out from the campground at 6:30 am, and this was the first I found. The geotrail made it clear where to go to get to the cache. Thanks!

Don't Overlook This

By: lifesajrny Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular

I was pretty tired, returning from a long hike up the canyon, but decided that this one wasn't far off the main trail, so I went for it. It's a nice big cache with lots of stuff, but I TNLN. Thanks!

She was Wrong!

By: BLIG Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Small

I managed to get some charcoal on my hands and pants before I finally spotted this one in plain sight. Thanks!

Serrano Canyon Trail

By: agouracharger Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Small

I turned around at the Love Shack, and was headed back down the canyon, but decided to make a short detour for this one. I'm 6'1", and had no trouble spotting or retrieving. Thanks!

1:10 Cache

By: campyc Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Not chosen

My GPSr didn't get me real close to this one, but the hint worked out well. I stopped for this one on a long hike up Sycamore Canyon. Thanks!

She was Right!

By: BLIG Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Small

This was my second stop, after heading out early from the campground on a long hike up the canyon. Thanks!

Hideout

By: Baby Sparkle Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Small

As I walked up, I was worried that this would be a tough find, but I followed the instructions, and had the cache in hand soon after. This made a nice break in my long hike up the canyon this morning.

Down by the Sea

By: TRUROKR Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

I failed to read the description, and wandered around a bit looking for the trail. The cache is just about 150 feet behind campsite #1, where we had our trailer. We went looking as the sun was going down, and had some trouble spotting it, but my son's girlfriend had the eagle eyes that spotted it. I left bytemobile turtle #364.

Bridge of Sighs

By: TRUROKR Difficulty: 3.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Small

I did a big hike earlier in the day, then came by in the evening for this one. My son's girlfriend, who hadn't been caching before spotted this one right off. The camo came loose, so the next finder may have a little trouble. Thanks!

GIMME A BREAK

By: Baby Sparkle Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Regular

The leaves were so thick here that I was beginning to lose heart on this one, but I figured out the hint, and found the cache soon after. As I was signing, a large group of runners came by, probably a cross country or track team. Thanks!

Crack Up

By: Baby Sparkle Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

I didn't see this on the first pass, then read the cache title again and spotted it right off. Thanks!

What a Pair!

By: Team Dakiba Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Micro

I missed this on the hike up the canyon. My GPSr didn't put my in the right spot, and I concentrated on the wrong area. On the way back, I spotted it as I hiked up. Thanks!
