The Cache with the ReallyReallyReally Long Name

By: The Petoskey Stones Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

Nice day for a walk this morning, and lots of others were out here doing the same. TNLNSL.

Assume Nothing #5

By: workerofwood Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular

I almost stepped on a coyote as I was hiking up the hill for this cache. It jumped up from the grass and trotted off. Nice cache and nice view.

The Tardis

By: Team Nazgul Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Micro

This is my first experience with a Tardis, but it definitely looks out of place here. TFTC.

Quickwood Microwood

By: The Petoskey Stones Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

I was caching on the other side of the creek, and decided to rock-hop on over. I had shoes with good traction, and it was no problem. No problem finding the cache.

Carrabelle Cache

By: The Petoskey Stones Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

I was out early on this Saturday morning, and no one was at the park yet. Thanks for the cache.

The Big Fat Cache

By: The Petoskey Stones Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

This was my first visit to this area. Lots of joggers were out this morning. Thanks for a nice cache.

Crawl-through Tree

By: Team Nazgul Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Small

This was a nice little hike this morning. I wasn't up for anything big since I did 8 miles at Joseph Grant Count Park last weekend. When I finally saw the tree from the right angle, I knew I was in the right place.

L.A.C.T. Micro-cache

By: The Petoskey Stones Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

The trail was busy this morning, but I grabbed it between joggers. TFTC.

New Almaden Trail

By: Team Nazgul Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Regular

I follow my GPSr and instructions straight to the cache, but didn't spot it right off. I stood next to it while I read the cache page on my Palm, then finally looked down and spotted it. Thanks for a nice hike in a part of the park I hadn't been to before.

Webb Canyon (Nazgul Secret Trailhead #1)

By: Team Nazgul Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

I started out just before 8 this morning, and saw a coyote a hundred feet or so up the trail from the trailhead.

Blend-in-tree

By: Tonton-Ca Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Large

The cache was a bit exposed, so I added a few more leaves and sticks. This was my first visit to this trail. TNLNSL.

Tree Surgeon

By: Marky & Joani Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

If there is anything better than an M & J hide, it's an M & J hint. I almost gave up on this one, but it was in the last place I looked.

Pfeiffer Stone House

By: Mohetka Difficulty: 4.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Regular

This is an interesting spot, and the cache is quite clever. Thanks for a neat one!

Treasure Chest

By: bykenut Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

This was a great day for a walk, and there were lots of folks on the trail this morning. Thanks for a neat cache. TNLNSL.

Bicycle Primes

By: bykenut Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Regular

I wasn't on my bike today, but hiked over from some other nearby caches. The cache still has some bike repair items. TNLNSL.

Creekside Trunk Cache

By: Cache & Carry (adopted by cer) Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Regular

I think this is one of the older caches that I have found. The cache is still in fine shape, and I hid it a little better than I found it. TNLNSL.

POP #7

By: WeBeDnD Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

I thought the puzzle was easy, then I ended up at the front door of Larry Hopkins Honda looking for the cache. I decided to recheck my work, and found the error fairly quickly. Thanks for a nice puzzle and cache.

De Anza Park

By: MotorBug Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

I stopped by on the way home after Sunnyvale's Smallest. TFTC.

One More

By: WeBeDnD Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

I came around at lunchtime for One More...

Sunnyvale's Smallest Park?

By: katiecacher Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Regular

Cute cache in a cute park. Picked it up on the way home.

A Scanner Darkly

By: Chris & Janet Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Other

I hate to solve a puzzle then not be able to find the cache. With some reassurance from the cache owner that I was looking in the right place, I gave it another try and spotted it.

Secret walkway #7 - The Ivy Cache

By: Marky & Joani Difficulty: 3.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Not chosen

I zeroed out in exactly the right spot, and found this quicker than any previous ivy hide.

A.A.C.I.I.?

By: Marky & Joani Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Not chosen

I think the cache is hidden nicely from view, and is not bad for an ivy hide.

Stroll into the Past

By: Marky & Joani Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

I thought this was great. I am a little slow to catch on to things, so this one came to me slowly as I strolled through.

Spend Money Here

By: MotorBug Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

Parking is tough here on a Saturday afternoon. I had to hike in from 0.12 miles away.

Change Here

By: DavidT21 & Fisherwoman Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Regular

Took a few minutes to find this one, even though we had the search area narrowed down by the bench remains.

The Twin Gates

By: DavidT21 & Fisherwoman Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

I set out with Doug M this morning at 9 am, headed for Antler Point. It was cool and the sun was initially obscured by the fog, but it burned through a short time later. We ended up spending five hours on the trail.

Magnetic Therapy

By: WalruZ Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Regular

I traded a film canister (with log) for one of the magnetic keyholders since I have an application for one right now. TFTC!

Who goes there?

By: WalruZ Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Regular

Caching partner Doug make a kerthunk sound poking the cache while I was still getting my bearings. TNLNSL.

Where's the Beef?

By: WalruZ Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Micro

I like a cache with a good theme. I was amazed by the woodpecker holes with acorns near the cache site and took a picture.

Chicken Roost

By: WalruZ Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Regular

We spotted three coyotes a ways back down the trail from here. First we saw one dark shape in the grass up ahead, then saw him move like a coyote, then suddenly saw two others start moving out in the grass.

Top of the Hill (not Daly City)

By: WalruZ Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Regular

I thought the hill was more of a pain going down when I was tired and my back and knees were aching.

Canada de Pala cache

By: DavidT21 & Fisherwoman Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Regular

Luckily I had Doug M with me today and he spotted this one quickly. I would probably would have missed it and given up. We saw tarantulas at three different points along the trail today. I took a picture with Doug's boot for a size comparison.

Fill in the Blank

By: TeamAlamo Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Micro

This is the first time I've seen a marker like the one at the first stop for this cache. Thanks for pointing it out. This was a great day for a hike, and we saw coyotes, tarantulas, hawks, and a little green frog along the way.

Shelter From The Storm

By: DavidT21 & Fisherwoman Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Regular

Picked up this one on the return hike, since we were not yet ready for a break on the way up. TFTC!

Philcam L. Back Memorial

By: bthomas Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Micro

I got down and found this one myself while my caching partner returned phone calls.

Antler Point

By: WalruZ Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 3.5 Container: Regular

It took Doug M and I three hours of hiking and caching to get here from Twin Gates. We were ready for a helicopter straight to ToGo's, or at least a jeep ride back.

Fallen Monarch

By: Ron Williams Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Not chosen

Caching partner Doug found this one before I was able to read the hint. I was surprised to read how old this cache is.

Whatawaste Plaza

By: boulter (Adopted by MotorBug) Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Micro

There were a few folks around at lunchtime today. I hadn't really seen the plaza before, even though I come by here occasionally. I sat down and figured where the cache probably was, then grabbed it without trying to see it first.

Baylands Cache & Carry

By: WeBeDnD Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

Came by this morning and picked up my glasses. Thanks, Bullit.

By: WeBeDnD Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

Found it on a quick geocaching run this morning.

By: MotorBug Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

By: The Petoskey Stones Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

Wow, some serious engineering went into this container. Thank for an interesting cache.

Midst the Hustle & Bustle

By: CTomGeo Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Small

Still lots of hustle & bustle on this Sunday morning. TNLNSL.

Romantic Rendezvous 3 ? NEM

By: hals99 Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

It didn't take long on this Sunday morning, but there were a surprising number of muggles around.

Angelina Jolie

By: GeoROCKS! Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Regular

I used to hike along here when my boys we little. Thanks for a nice puzzle and cache. TNLNSL.

Oct 13, 2004

Dizzy

By: WeBeDnD Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

I stopped by after a visit to the Sunnyvale Baylands. I saw the cache location on a map, so I didn't bother with the GPSr, and got the cache on my first grab. TFTC.

BM521

By: WeBeDnD Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

It was the fourth place I looked, and I had to check there twice. Thanks for the cache incentive for a lunchtime bike ride.

Baylands Cache & Carry

By: WeBeDnD Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

It took a lot of poking, but I finally poked the right spot. Took a film container and left a carabiner key ring.

Home Run!

By: MotorBug Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular

N 37 25.033 W 121 59.817. I agree with trode. Kablooey's coordinate are out in left field, or rather, center. Coordinates taken with eight satellites, all with differential measurements.

Oct 12, 2004

Aw, Nuts!

By: WeBeDnD Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

I came out for a little lunchtime bike ride today. I'm sure the passing joggers thought I was a little nuts.

Baylands Cache & Carry

By: WeBeDnD Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

If you happen upon a pair of reading glasses while poking around for this cache, stick them in the cache. I will probably find it eventually.

Baylands Bike & Bridge

By: MotorBug Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular

I came out for a little lunchtime bike ride today. I had to jump down to see the cache. TNLNSL.

Oct 11, 2004

Baylands Grove

By: MotorBug Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

I stood around and pondered and looked, then I had a good idea and reached and grabbed it.

Feeding Frenzy

By: MotorBug Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

I wish I had been able to make it to the picnic. I came around today to pick up some of the remains.

Oct 10, 2004

Peaceful Pond

By: Sgt Stitches Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Not chosen

I spotted this one by standing at the pond and searching with my eyes. A class met on the other side of the pond this morning, and they were having a look at the wildlife.

Wilder Buckeye Cache

By: ynots4 Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Regular

I made this one harder than it needed to be, but it was a nice day for hiking. I didn't know that you had to wander by the farm buildings to find the Highway 1 underpass. I headed on down the road past the buildings to another Highway 1 crossing, took a cow path over the hill, then bushwacked down the other side, where I met up with the main trails. TNLNSL.

Oct 9, 2004

Garden of Eden

By: Kealia Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular

This is an amazing little spot. I was surprised to see it labeled on the park map the same as the cache name. I didn't see Adam or Eve, though. It may have been too early in the day. My GPSr quit being of any use about a half mile from the cache. I found the beach with no problem and eventually found the hint landmark. Then I spent a lot of time thrashing about on the hillside, watched a train go by, then finally found the cache closer to the beach.

Bridge Mind Bender

By: Kealia Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

I wasted some time looking for a magnetic micro, then sat down with my Palm and read the cache page and hint, then found it quickly. This was my first visit to Henry Cowell, and I enjoyed it a lot.

Higher Ground

By: Team Egerton Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular

Finally! A cache in this park with great GPS coverage. I zeroed in quickly with good coordinates and lots of satellites. Great place for a cache, but I was surprised that the trail I took was the equivalent of hiking up a sand dune.

Nosey Neighbor

By: zenone Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Regular

This would probably be a great park for letterboxing, since I have been operating mostly operating on hints for the last two caches. I came up from below with no GPS coverage, got a fix at the top, then headed back down (a couple times). It took quite a while to locate the landmark in the hint.

Coconut Trestle

By: Sgt Stitches and Cpl Coconut Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Regular

I was headed for Henry Cowell Redwoods this morning, and stopped by. I used the hints, and spotted the location immediately. TNLNSL.

Felton Covered Bridge

By: Kealia Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

I probably would have never seen the bridge without a cache here. Muggles were about on this Saturday afternoon, but no problems retrieving and replacing the cache.

Turkey Bash Cache

By: Central Coast Geocachers of California Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular

Nice area for a cache. I had a little trouble with a GPS signal, but nothing compared with the next two caches I went after. TNLNSL.

Aylsworth View

By: Kealia Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

Great view today, all the way to Monterey Bay. Nice hint, and a quick find.

Oct 7, 2004

Bread

By: WeBeDnD Difficulty: 4.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

I liked this one a lot. I rescued it from my pile of partially solved puzzles, and with a fresh look, was able to complete the second part fairly quickly. The aroma near the cache is worth the visit.

Oct 5, 2004

Resistance is (STILL) Futile...

By: WeBeDnD Difficulty: 4.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

The puzzle subject matter was up my alley, and I was fairly lucky with the find (first place I looked). Thanks for a neat puzzle and cache.

Big Worm-Gear Needed

By: digitalfish Difficulty: 4.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Not chosen

I found this on my first try, but I came well prepared by reading all the logs. I saw one passerby, but she didn't offer any help.

Oct 4, 2004

I Think That I Shall Never See...

By: The Petoskey Stones Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

Interesting specimen. I stopped by on my way home from work.

San Jos Public Library - West Valley Branch

By: Beckerbuns Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

I hadn't been to this library before and I don't live that far away. The parking lot was nearly full tonight after work and lots of people were coming and going, so I had to make a quick grab.

Oct 3, 2004

World's Worst Parking

By: Mr. Ranger Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Regular

There was a surprising amount of activity here on a Sunday morning. Several student drivers were circling the neighborhood, pulling into the lot, and parking.

Toadally Bowers

By: PFKing Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Regular

There was a croaking chorus as I found the cache and signed the log. TNLN.

Hiding Places

By: DustBlazer Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

I was planning to do a few Santa Clara caches this morning, saw this puzzle, and was able to solve it fairly quickly. Short cachers may have a little trouble with this hide.

Henry Schmidt

By: Stacy & Jerry Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

I stopped by yesterday afternoon and zeroed out about equidistant from about four possible hiding places. I read the logs, came back this morning, and found it fairly quickly.

Keyfob light 01

By: Cinway Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

Easy grab with not much going on here on a Sunday morning.

Oct 2, 2004

Ring Around the Rosie

By: Marky & Joani Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Micro

This one took a trip back to the sculpture and a recount, then a trip back to the final location since it was occupied, but I enjoyed seeing the sculpture and trekking around the park.

Parkway #2

By: Stacy & Jerry Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

I wandered up and down and back and forth, and finally came up with a likely place.

Parkway #1

By: Stacy & Jerry Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

Headed straight for this one, and it was the first thing I touched.

Does She Work here?

By: Shoeluvr Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

This log is well-worn from lots of use.
