*missing* That's Just Not Natural

By: workerofwood Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Small

The title says it all. I had been up to Walden West before, but hadn't seen the youth hostel.

Secret Stairway #2- Downtown Saratoga

By: Marky & Joani Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

I tend to avoid caches that might take a while to find, but this one turned out to be fairly straightforward.

Sanborn Cache

By: thegreers Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular

The electronic compass on my GPSr wasn't working (I have since learned to power down and re-calibrate.) so I wandered before I found the right trail and the right direction. The cache was a fairly quick find when I got to the right area.

Jen and Charlie's Flies cache

By: Jen and Charlie Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular

This is an easy find -- you just follow the cacher trail off the main trail. I didn't see any yellow jackets. This was a nice Sunday morning hike -- just over an hour round trip from the Summit Rock parking area -- except for the guns blasting away at the gun club.

POP #3

By: WeBeDnD Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

I brought a few puzzles to puzzle over on a recent plane trip back east, and this one of the few I actually figured out.

Secret Trailhead #9 - Vasona

By: Marky & Joani Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

I don't know why I spent more than my usual 10-minute time limit trying to find this, but I did. The coordinates were good, and there didn't seem to be that many possibilities to check out, and finally I fumbled on to it.

Mystery Cache

By: WildFlowerWoman & BerkyOlBoy Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Not chosen

The cache weathered the winter beautifully in its little burrow. This was our last stop before heading home from a two day backpack trip around the Dinkey Lakes loop. We found the best fishing to be at First Dinkey Lake. We also caught a very tasty 12" rainbow trout at Swede Lake. Thanks for the cache.

Granny Goose Sunset

By: Caddis, RC Glider Guy and friends Difficulty: 4.0 Terrain: 4.0 Container: Regular

There is a hard way and an easy way to do this cache. The easy way would have been to head off trail as we were coming down from South Lake, and hike up a gentle slope to the cache. The hard way is to go all the way down to Swede Lake, then hike/climb straight up to the cache. I passed a couple rock climbers on my way up this route. The cache is in excellent shape.

How Swede It Is

By: Dave Wallace and Ellen Chilton Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular

According to the cache log, I am about the third finder of the season. A couple of them were accidental finders. I was off finding Granny Goose Sunset, while my sons went ahead and found a camp and started fishing. After I caught up, I pulled out my GPSr, and found that they had thrown their packs right the rock that hides this cache, so you could call it an easy find. The cache is in great shape.

tommycache, dinkey lakes chapter

By: Tom Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 4.0 Container: Regular

I found one cache on this summit, and it was a green ammo box, so it must be this cache. At the time, I was sure I found the cache by Alley, but re-reading the web pages, that one is a tupperware container. Anyway, the views up here are first-rate, and I was glad for the cache incentive to hike up here. The cache and its contents were in great shape.

The Longest Day

By: Big Odyssey/Clovis Cacher Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Regular

We came by about 10 pm last night. There was a fancy deal going on at the hall. We figured out where the cache would be, but came by this morning to complete the finding. Great theme for the cache contents!

San Joaquin Valley RR

By: Great Scott! (adopted by Kewaneh & Shark) Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

Walked a couple blocks early this morning from the Best Western, while my sons were still snoozing. Found it quickly. Thanks for a cache in an interesting little park.

Welcome to the Rock

By: Chickermunker Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

We checked into the Best Western, which is geocache central for Clovis. This one is a few hundred feet out the front door, and there is another a few hundred out the side door. Found this one about 10 pm, my first night cache. My flashlight wasn't working but I grabbed where I thought it would be and came up with it.

Easy Does It

By: 2blucats Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Other

Parked right next to it, and found it quickly. It is a little tricky to rehide it well.

My tribute

By: ~Ninja~ Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Virtual

I was out and about for a few West Valley caches this afternoon, and stopped by. There was a swim meet in progress, but that was no impediment to walking around and finding the points of interest.

Stomping grounds

By: ~Ninja~ Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Regular

The log currently consists of a variety of scraps of paper, which are currently pretty much full. Found it quickly today after failing some months ago.

San Jos Public Library - Calabazas Branch

By: Beckerbuns Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

I had been to the park before, but hadn't noticed the library across the street.

Catch Some Air Too

By: bykenut Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

Found it quickly, just as a couple teams were arriving to play a baseball game.

Secret Walkway #5 - Shadow Oaks

By: Marky & Joani Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular

Interesting trail. I had no idea it was here.

See the POWER

By: workerofwood Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

The purpose of this park is now obviously for geocachers.

Saratoga History

By: workerofwood Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

Had a look around the museum and had a chat with the volunteer about railroads and Saratoga history.

Hidden Walk- Wildcat Creek

By: workerofwood Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular

This afternoon I have been catching up on Saratoga caches that have showed up in the last couple months. Thanks for a visit to an interesting spot.

In Memoriam

By: workerofwood Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Regular

I would never have thought to stick a full sized cache anywhere near here, but it seems to work.

Congress Springs Rock Cache

By: 2marbleheads Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Regular

The cache has a few leaves and sticks on it so it may a little hard to spot.

Stuffed Animal Exchange

By: 2marbleheads Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

I have been running around town this afternoon, checking out the caches that have showed up in the last couple months. Found this one fairly quickly. TNLNSL.

Hidden Gazebo I

By: workerofwood Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Regular

I was catching up on local caches this afternoon, and decided to stop by and give this one a try. I failed to find it when it first came out, but this time was much easier.

Getting to know yahoo

By: boulter Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular

I did my Yahoo homework last night, and came out for a lunchtime walk today. Thanks for the cache.

My Meridian

By: Wintertime Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

The quiz was fun, but I had no luck finding the cache. Since this hasn't been logged for a while, I suspect it is gone.

A Fair Cache

By: WeBeDnD Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

There were several places it could be. Unfortunately, it was in the spot I checked first, and missed it, so it took a bit longer than it should have.

Don't mess with the Army

By: Jim and Jeanette Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Other

I went over at noon today and the park was swarming with school year end parties, but was still able to find a couple caches with no problem.

Unknown Exit

By: Team CBX2 Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Regular

The swarms of swallows and their nests was amazing. Thanks for a quick, interesting stop.

Coyote Cliff

By: Just a Short Walk & Iron Chef Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

My pant legs picked up a little of this and that, but less than I initially figured. This was our last stop after heading out to Norman Vineyards to pick up a case of Monster Zin.

Pea Soup Challenge

By: bunthorne Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Virtual

We stayed in Buellton this weekend to attend the picnic for Firestone wine club members. The Days Inn across the street was our headquarters, which has a back gate to the nearby RV park where the rest of the family was camped. This cache was fun to do with my older son while the rest of the family waited in line to be seated.

Mission Pole

By: Jim and Jeanette Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

I've been to Solvang before, but I never made it to this edge of town. Thanks for a cache in an interesting and historical spot.

Dig-Em's Danish Virtual

By: Team Jelly Belly & Leap Frog Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Virtual

I never made it to this edge of Solvang before. Thanks for an interesting cache.
