GeoWoodstock VI

By: RCGDS & NUTS Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Not chosen

11:30 am - We weren't sure we were coming, but decided Friday night to give it a go we weren't disappointed. I'm embarassed to say I got lost going to a Geocaching Mega Event. Does that disqualify me or something? I'll blame my autorouter. It brought us to a dead-end street with no sign of a farm visible. So we started driving around, waited for a train to pass and eventually returned and found the farm one street over. Whew!

I was a little worried that the event was going to be too big and I wouldn't see anyone we knew, but I started seeing folks right away, some I haven't seen for some time. We enjoyed walking around, checking out the well-organized activities and chatting with other cachers. W e even got a picture with Signal and chatted 1 on 1 with Jeremy. He said my name was familiar to him. I'm not sure if that's a good thing or not. SMILIE

A fun time for sure - thanks for putting it together!

Fifty is Nifty - Birthday Brunch

By: Joani Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Not chosen

12:09 pm - This event was a lot of fun. I only wish I got there earlier. Between having breakfast and getting pulled into the puzzle solving, I only had half-conversations with everyone. Happy birthday Marky and thanks for having us!

Moss Landing Impromptu Beach Party

By: The Cache Syndicate Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Other

4:25 pm - Ok, I guess I should be more prompt about logging my caches since this event was in November and it's now the middle of January. Anyway had fun meeting the folks and getting what turned out to be a very difficult cache. I had some clam chowder at Phil's which had onions in it. Is this a west coast thing? Who puts onions in clam chowder? Anyway, thanks for the fun!

Los Gatos Creek Park Fall Picnic

By: Marky & Joani Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Not chosen

2 pm - I'm not sure if I was early or late, but a lot of people attended that I never saw! And I didn't even know that Joani had an account with 10 whole finds!
Way too much food as usual, but it was nice to catch up and take a break between mad caching runs. Thanks, everyone!

East of the Bay, West of the Hills

By: motogrrl & Kilroy Gang Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Other

12:47 pm - Less than 12 hours ago I was lying in bed, unable to sleep. I started to think about what I was going to on Saturday. Then I remembered something on thegba forums about an event in Oakland and a group heading up to grab some caches on the way. I got up, figured out the plan and went back to bed. 5 hours later I was dragging myself back up and meeting WoW, British Invasion and Shadow101 in Milpitas. At this hour I still didn't know exactly what the event was called or where it was!
We cached our way up and ended up at the event a bit after 12. It was nice to have a smaller event for a change. I thought I talked to everyone, but now I see a bunch of names that I didn't talk to. I think nametags are essential. Anyway, it was my first time to this park and we had some time to
pick up a few caches. Since I was unprepared for the event, WoW was nice enough to provide some hot dogs for me. Thanks for the fun!

BADGES Picnic #3

By: BADGES Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Not chosen

12 pm - Finished up some nearby caches and popped into the event. With 8 bucks for the event and parking, it was pricey for an event, but still well worth the money. Had fun and dropped of the Roswell Jr. travel bug with Joani. Thanks!

July Birthday Bash

By: Marky & Joani Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Not chosen

6:45 pm - We were kinda undecided about going to this one. We were generally feeling lazy due to the heat. We got ourselves out anyway and did a few caches on the way there. Since we weren't hungry, Marky was nice enough to get a few drinks for us. There were quite a few people there and we enjoyed the conversation, cake and air conditioning. On the way out we were finally feeling hungry so we grabbed some food to go. Thanks for the fun time!
