GeoWoodstock VI

By: RCGDS & NUTS Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Not chosen

11:30 am - We weren't sure we were coming, but decided Friday night to give it a go we weren't disappointed. I'm embarassed to say I got lost going to a Geocaching Mega Event. Does that disqualify me or something? I'll blame my autorouter. It brought us to a dead-end street with no sign of a farm visible. So we started driving around, waited for a train to pass and eventually returned and found the farm one street over. Whew!

I was a little worried that the event was going to be too big and I wouldn't see anyone we knew, but I started seeing folks right away, some I haven't seen for some time. We enjoyed walking around, checking out the well-organized activities and chatting with other cachers. W e even got a picture with Signal and chatted 1 on 1 with Jeremy. He said my name was familiar to him. I'm not sure if that's a good thing or not. SMILIE

A fun time for sure - thanks for putting it together!

Jellies

By: DavidT21 & Fisherwoman Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

5 pm - I think I DNFed this one a couple of years ago. I almost did so again today. With all my Garmin GPS batteries dead, I had to get the bluetooth one out of the car and figure out where the heck I was so I could look up the cache and verify it was in the same area that I was looking last time. It was and I again had a lot of trouble finding it. From one particular angle I noticed a hide that I didn't realize was possible before. I checked another spot and was surprised to find it fall in my hand. Tricky. Went home with 3 bags of belly flops. [}:)]

Settler's Cabin

By: goodlife Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

2:18 pm - I really thought I had found this cache before, but it turned out to be a similar hide at the jail a block away. Nicely done.

St. John the Baptist

By: #1 geobears Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

2:09 pm - Followed the offroad crew here on a very hot day. Kablooey had this on the right side of the fence. Thanks!

Loaded for Bear

By: sloigo Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Small

1:52 pm - mpj303 and kablooey couldn't see this for some reason. Do I have to do all the work here? [:D] Thanks for the quick one.

Dats All Folks!!

By: sloigo Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

1:56 pm - Grabbed a quick one here on our way back from Hollister Hills. Thanks.

Strawberry Fields Forever II

By: sloigo Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Small

2:40 pm - I supervised because I thought I saw the cache from the car, but MotorBug found it a few inches away. Last cache of the day as it was mighty hot and I was getting sleepy. Thanks!

My Side of the Mountain

By: alpharomero.com Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Micro

1:18 pm - I was feeling good after summitting and appreciated the level terrain for a while. I followed a coyote towards the cache. Found it OK, but I think the camo is no longer serving its purpose. Thanks for the cache.

Indistinct Road to Somewhere

By: runnerinwoods Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Micro

1:35 pm - I wound around the side of the hill down to this cache and found it after a short search. I missed it on my first pass then checked again before I noticed the clever hide. After I debated the best way to get to the next cache. I went up first, then down, then finally back up again. It was painful. I probably should have come back the way I came on the trail. Oh well. Thanks for the cache.

TC-Rancho Again

By: popeye2 Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Regular

10:55 am - You know, I can deal with ticks, snakes and pointy bushes, but what really bothers me on these old trails is all the spiderwebs. I hate how they get all over your face. Anyway, I missed the trail at first, then doubled back and saw the right way up. The marker mentioned in the hint is gone, but otherwise the cache is in good shape. TNLN. Thanks!

Bla'gard's Ruse 7 - Topsincite

By: OGBO Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Micro

1:10 pm - Wow, that was a pretty killer climb, especially that last part. I was thrilled to be at the top now though and I had a surge of energy that convinced me I could find a few more caches up here. Thanks for the creative hide.

Bla'gard's Ruse 6 - Snake crossing

By: OGBO Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Micro

12:50 pm - You know I should have read the title of this cache before I indiscriminately threw down my stuff and myself for some rest in this spot. Luckily I seemed to be alone. I did rest for a while before I tackled the next stretch of steepness. Oy! Thanks for the cache.

Bla'gard's Ruse 5 - Lime Rock Cascade

By: OGBO Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Small

11:38 am - I did almost all the caches on the way up the mountain today which was good because I got to stop. But I started to think that the way down was going to be mighty boring. It was actually more painful than boring, but that's a story for another long. Found this one OK. Thanks!

Bla'gard's Ruse 4 - De Fenceable Area

By: OGBO Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Micro

11:17 am - I don't know what time John Mellencamp's "Key West Intermezzo" is written in, but it matched perfectly with my pace up the hill for this section. It kept me moving along nicely - and look - another cache. Got it easily and continued up. Thanks.

Bla'gard's Ruse 3 - WAAS not Waas too

By: OGBO Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Micro

11:08 am - I was really surprised how busy this trail was today. I guess not everyone goes all the way to the top though. Anyway, found this one OK as I made my way up and up and up. Thanks!

Bla'gard's Ruse 2 - deer me

By: OGBO Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Micro

10:27 am - I found the cache, but the plastic that holds the hook to the container broke. I reattached it by hooking it to the rubber seal, but it will probably need to be replaced before too long. Thanks for the cache!

Bla'gard's Ruse 1 - Recovery

By: OGBO Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Micro

9:49 am - Five miles each way? I guess I should have read that first. Oh well, too late now, here I go! Thanks for the cache.

Black Mountain Side

By: dw Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Regular

11:50 am - I'm only half-way up? What?? It's going to be a long hike today. I appreciated the excuse to stop for rest though. TNLN. Thanks!

Huff and Puff

By: dw Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 3.5 Container: Regular

12:10 pm - Yes, I did much huffing and my share of puffing up the hill here. "A great workout," I kept telling myself. But if I can't walk for days, is that really helpful? We shall see. Thanks for the cache.

Start Here!

By: dw Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

9:40 am - All right, I'm ready to hike. Quick find to start the day. Thanks!
